Entry #48 Sunday, January 19th, 2003. First of all, I hope that everyone's holidays were great! Once again, the Hurra-Fanatics overwhelmed me at Christmas! I enjoyed receiving all kinds of gifts from my family, my fans, my friends, my friends who are fans, and some fans who have become friends. So major thanks go out to everyone who sent anything! I opened every package, I read every card and letter and I appreciated them all. Thank you again! I spent my New Year's Eve in Honolulu, HI. This was my third trip to Hawaii and it's getting harder and harder to leave every time I go. Hurricanes LOVE warm weather! And the bikini's weren't bad either! I've had two very cool "Special Appearances" lately. The first was in Hawaii, at Pearl Harbor. I got a chance to go on board one of the Battleships, and to meet some of the Navy personnel stationed there and let me just say that I'm glad these guys are on our side! The second appearance was also of a military nature, it was in NORAD! Yes, I said (typed) that right, NORAD. For those that might not know what I'm talking about, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) is a binational United States and Canadian organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning and aerospace control for North America. (I copied that off some website, and I forgot what it was.) The base is located inside a mountain in Colorado Springs, CO. Myself, Arn Anderson, and my homies (also known as home-slices) Christian and Jericho were given a tour of the base and taken inside the command center. Now the command center is straight out of Star Trek! Trust me when I tell you this, no matter how advanced you think we are, their is so much more that we (civilians) don't know about. And again, I'm glad these guys are on our side! Now in my last diary entry, I spoke of a promotional tour in London that including Stacy Kiebler and myself. Well, we did a ton of publicity related work, but it was so much fun. We did all these different TV news shows and talk shows that were really cool, but two really stood out more than the others. The first one was that I did this European MTV show where the subject of the show was "Favorite Movies" in which I talked about "Lord of the Rings". This show also had me do an opening for Jackass, where I spin around and pretend that I'm Johnny Knoxville. The other one was this talk show where I got to meet Billy Boyd. Now, Billy Boyd is the actor that plays Pippin the Hobbit, in the "Lord of the Rings." How's that for a coincidence? Next, I would like to comment on the Bob Holly segment of Tough Enough. I'm received more than a few email's on the subject asking for my opinion, so here goes. When I made my debut on the indy scene in 1991, there were basically no cruiserwieghts around. No Hardy Boyz, no Kidman's, no Mysterio's, just my skinny little ass having to work with a bunch of big, jacked up hacks, who tried to kill me in every match. A lot of the guys I worked with were stuck in the "big man" mentality which basically meant that these guys thought that the audience only wanted to see big guys and that it was beneath them to work with a guy as small as I was. That being the case, on more than one occasion, things broke down a little bit. LOL It was in these moments when my 32 amateur medals came into play. Mix that in with the 2 steel plates and 13 screws in my forearm that allow me to punch like a hammer, and that was more than enough for me to make up for any weight difference. I literally had to fight to survive in those days. But after every match (fight) and after tempers had cooled, 9 out of 10 promoters asked me back, and little by little I earned my respect. Once the boys could see that I could actually perform in the ring, things got a lot easier for me. But it was a real struggle back in those days. So, how does this relate to Tough Enough? Matt getting roughed up a little bit (and believe me, I've seen and been through a HELLOFA lot worse) while unnecessary, will hopefully benefit him in the long run. If he hangs in there that is. Hopefully, it will prepare him for just how tough this business can be. Hopefully, it will prepare him for the lesson that things don't always go as planned in the ring, that you will come across some guy trying to hurt you, that tempers do flare, and that matches have turned into brawls! Do I condone what happened? Not really. But it did happen, so it's up to Matt to make it work for him. And please, let's have just one episode of Tough Enough where someone isn't crying! LOL And speaking of "things getting out of hand." This leads me to my next topic. It seems a certain former WCW superstar (I would say WWE as well, but does one match really count?) can't help but to mention my name in every single interview he does. Glory me, I didn't know I meant that much to the guy. But rest assured to anyone interested that his accounting of what happened between us is MILES apart from the truth. I won't go into details about what happened, it was a childish thing. But there were at least 15 other guys who witnessed the event, and they all tell the same story, which is one guy tried to bully another and got his ass punked out for his efforts. Lesson learned, "I don't do bullied. Enough with the lies already, you're only making yourself look worse." And I almost forgot . . .I'm over here now! Now for anyone that hasn't seen "LotR: The Two Towers," I'm beggin' ya! That movie rocks! The Battle of Helm's Deep is awesome and Gollum/Smeagol just stole the show. And it MUST be seen on the big screen. So if you haven't seen it, go see it! Another movie I saw recently was "Not Another Teen Movie." I thought this film was extremely funny and Jamie Pressly has moved to the very top of my HOT list! And after careful consideration, Avril Lavenge . . . still deserves a VerteBreaker. Now, from the category of "What is the World Coming To?" comes a story that a group of people have filed a lawsuit against McDonald's claiming that McDonald's made them fat! . . . Think about that for a second. . . . Now, let's continue. Even though it was their choice to eat there, apparently the knowledge that eating fatty, greasy foods might, just might, make you fat has eluded these people, so they are suing McDonald's! "One teenager ate every meal at McDonald's for three years while living in a homeless shelter, the Associated Press news agency reported." . . . Think about that for a second . . . A teenager in a homeless shelter, yeah, tell me he's not out for the money! Another of the people in the lawsuit has a son who is 15 yrs old and weighs 400 pounds. She is quoted as saying, (and I quote) "[i had] always believed McDonald's was healthy for my son." . . . Now think about that . . . Let me just say that if you are a parent, and your child weighs 400 lbs at the age of 15, you need your ass kicked! And I would personally go over there and Vertebreak his ass, but I ain't throwing my back out! Not because the child is overweight, that doesn't bother me. I don't buy into the whole weight/height requirements that some people speak of. Quite simply, if a person is happy in their heart, and happy with their life then whatever they look like is fine by me. But to weigh 400 lbs is risking terrible health problems, which include heart failure and death, D-E-A-T-H! So if whacking a kid on the ass in public is child abuse, a parent allowing a child's health to deteriorate to the level that the kid may actually DIE has to at least be some form of neglect! Right? What in the hell is going on here? Now, I know that we live in Politically Correct times, but if these people win this lawsuit, I'm suing somebody! I don't know what for, I don't know why, but I'm gonna find something to blame somebody else on and they are getting sued by me! Now was that a soapbox or what? And begin! Anyway, a very cool website to check out in your spare time is The Internet Movie Database at www.imdb.com! It's a fun way to waste some time looking up info on your favorite Hollywood peeps. I had a chance to chat with Tito Ortiz of UFC fame recently. He seems very cool and down to earth. We talked a bit about his last fight against Ken Shamrock and some other things. Funny though, the name Tank Abbot, who used to train with Tito and was 3Count's biggest fan, never came up. LOL! And before I go, I have to call out some GIMMICK INFRINGEMENT! Check out this cover to Aquaman: Now is it me, or is Aquaman about to do a spinaroonie? Dat ain't right! That's why I had to kabosh his boy CM! Check out FUNSTUFF to see what I'm talking about! Well, that's all for now, until next time, Stay cool. Shane

Still, they could've hired him for the heat commentary spot. He's way better than Lita.

Gosunkugi said it best. Nooo, we don't want promos that actually make you THINK, we want promos filled with catch-phrases. Yeah.... ooooh, quick, give Steiner and HHH the mic! Hell, give 'em a half hour to POSE!! Yeah, that's what everyone pays their money for!:angry:

I don't think so, jester. After all, they were pushing the Canadian Trio (Christian, Storm, Regal) on SD as heels and the crowd would boo them, but later in the show, they'd cheer for Edge...who is canadian. -

Storm, Test, Jerky, Christian, Morley... Yeah, it would make sense to have a Canadian title -

From LoP.com: --Hurricane/Trish vs Stevie/Victoria could be good, if given at least ONE segment to build it up, much like what they did with Victoria/Y2J/Christian vs Trish/Booker T/Goldust. --Jeff vs RVD....could either be good or bad, depending on Jeff's mood. -

Yeah, just imagine.. *Jericho comes out to a small pop* JR: These fans respect Jericho, King. It's all about respect. *The entire arena cheers Jericho* JR: THIS CROWD'S CRAZIER 'N A PET COON!! -
I think Rico accompanied one of them to the ring... I didn't watch, so I can't confirm that. Also Hurricane wasn't in the Rumble.

As a chick, I'm totally loving his accent. As a wrestling fan....I still don't see anything wrong with it.

Eddy and Chavo come to mind then...but they're the tag champs, so they can't be split up. Besides them, what other relatives are there on SD, real or storyline? -

Or perhaps it's "reuniting" "relatives"? E & C comes to mind. -

But if he was put in a tag team, who would be his partner? What pisses me off most about Steiner is that with a simple and retarded catch phrase, he killed off an angle. Kane, Hurricane, and Goldust all considered themselves "freaks". But that would dispute with Steiner's catch phrase so of course it had to be dropped. -

But, New Me, you might miss some PSYCHO HOTNESS~! -
Notice how it's always the under-used midcarders that put out some of the BEST~! Diary Entrys/Commentarys; Shane, Storm, Matt... What makes Shane Helms so unique is that he designs his own site, as far as I know.

RAW comes to you live tonight (9/8 CT on the new TNN). Eric Bischoff has less than one month to make some dramatic changes to RAW and appease his boss, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. Expect the RAW General Manager to do whatever it takes to avoid being fired. What innovative ideas will Bischoff employ? Rumor has it that tonight's episode of RAW could turn into an outrageous show. Tune in to TNN tonight at 9/8 CT to see what tricks Bischoff pulls out! Scott Steiner can not be happy with the outcome of his match against Triple H last night at the Royal Rumble. Steiner picked up a win over The Game, but since he prevailed due to a disqualification, the World Heavyweight Championship didn't fall into his hands. Will Big Poppa Pump continue to chase the championship? Will a new challenger to the title step forward? Find out tonight! The Dudley Boyz are World Tag Team Champions once again. Which tandem will be the first to step up to the new champs? What will happen when Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho step into the same building following their clash during the Royal Rumble Match? Get all the answers tonight on RAW, starting at 9/8 CT on the new TNN! Check back here later today to learn what matches have been announced for the night. -

As long as I see my faves tonight, I'll be happy. And if I see HHH...hey, I can always flip to Queer as Folk = ) -
So that's who it is? Just curious..what has Buff been saying about our superhero?
-
I may be the only one here, but I'd rather listen to HBK most of the show (using HHH's airt time) instead of HHH.

Or Rodney of the Mean Street Posse. Is it Rodney that Foley always cracks on? I know it's Snow, Test, and some member of the Posse.

On occasion 'Taker does some good mic work. His Ministry days come to mind, as does his one 'match' against Nowinski. It was the Raw that, I think, 3MW squashed Mae and Moolah. After commercial, Bischoff was bragging that he just 'snaps his fingers, and things happen.' So, 'Taker came out and was like 'I tell you what, why don't you snap your fingers..and see what happens'. Plus you had Nowinski "talking out of both sides of his mouth", according to JR. Don't know about anyone else, but that entertaining. (Damn...I have a cold, but my memory isn't affected at all)
