New X3 Preview clip - "Calm Under Pressure"
Yuna_Firerose replied to Yuna_Firerose's topic in Television & Film
Bah, stupid sendspace. Updated linkage: http://www.sendspace.com/file/4lckdq ^-^ Feedback is like a drug to a vidder, except without unhealthy side effects. Indeed. The gayness seems to follow me everywhere on this board. -huggles the pink and fluffy stalker- Case you hadn't noticed... the entire cast was hamming it up like crazy. I guess you had to; the movie itself was so nonsensical and so damned crazy -- the best thing about it, well next to Teh Gay o'course, were the bloopers. That lil five minute segment had more emotion in it than the entire movie combined. By overinflating the film with CGI, Stephen sucked all the life out of it; not only that, but he was clearly going for a style of film that just...doesn't work today. -
Holy fuckin' hell man, way to pull my heartstrings you evil bastards! Gah! The emotion of this ep... I swear that, when I was watching it, the rest of the room ceased to exist for me. All that mattered was my laptop, and the tv. Goddamn, the show continuously amazes me week after week; I don't see how any could hate it. -- Foreman: So much love for him right now, so much! He tackled the case he always does, very distant with a hint of sarcasm, but that RAPIDLY shifted to intense emotion and personal involvement. Many a time I was very near to being near-to-tears, brought on by his performance alone. What Foremand did, stabbing Cameron to get her infected, I don't think he meant it out of spite - he seemed really desperate to me, very very afraid; by reaching out to her it was, in its own twisted way, him saying to her 'I know you're one of the best...but you're only better when you get emotionally involved...please, please help me...' And you could tell that he was really torn up about it later. Being with that cop, though... that would've driven me insane with his constant agony because it's such a heartbreaking reminder of what will happen if the Best Diagnotician Department can't find the right diagnosis in time. Just...wow. -- Foreman/Chase: I demand some angsty, emo, hurt/comfort fics, pronto. And I'm not even into that kinda shit. Damn you fandom~! -- House: Seeing him emotionally involved in a case - and not just for the puzzle factor or how it distracts him from his own pain - was tear-inducing on its own. No matter how much he likes to pretend to hate his lil Ducklings, or how he says he likes to remain oblivious to their problems, this episode proved just how much he cares. And not only cares, but has trouble dealing with this strange emotion invading his little protective bubble. Like a little boy, he became more snippy to Wilson who knew...and even moreso knew when to back off. Awww... "House, get out of my temporal lobe!" "Was he shot?" "No, they just threw the bullet at him" -- Writers: I love you dearlings, I really do, but please stop with the H/C subtextual scenes! IckIckIck!

New X3 Preview clip - "Calm Under Pressure"

This is officially going in my sig. A movie like Van Helsing only serves one purpose: a template for better things. Case in point... My Music Video Basically, a reinvention of the story is the only way to make it watchable. And I just love how this post, very quickly, became all about Teh Gay. ^-^ -

The acting destroyed the film? The...acting? And I suppose the mass amounts of goop, sticky web, sparky electrical things, and all the thousands of polygons used on the wives, fog, set dressing, and even in some scenes a person's BREATH had nothing to do with the film being suck. Not to mention a completely incoherent plot that screamed of a schoolboy with new toys and a big budget. But...it was the acting. Okay. I'm sure. -

I can recall when X2 was being promoted and Alan appeared on Wayne Brady show. The show sucked, but Wayne was a total geek - or at least appeared to be - and it made it all the better. The clip they showed was Jean and Storm finding Nightcrawler for the first time. Now. Compare that scene to the one above and you tell me which had more emotion, better music, and people who actually seemed to care without overacting. Storm spinning into a tornado just to move Wolverine out of the way of...whatever it was just screamed of 'Ooh, look what I can do~!' -

Meh... that's the only way to make the movie interesting was to add the slash/fandom element. Other than that it was just... crap. o.o I actually hate to say that because Jackman actually tried to play the hero-type, but Stephen Sommers was too busy with his hard-on for grotesque CGI to notice. Dracula/Van Helsing = twisted-past-lives Love. -
I love that film but I think Steve Martin being introduced as the dentist is the best part. That and when he's treating Bill Murry. My very first introduction to anything of a gay nature. I love it. "Caaaaaaaaaandy bar! Ohhh yeah.... THANK YOUUUUUU!" Orin: [holding a dentist's tool] Let me ask you something! Does this scare you? Would you like if I took this and headed right for your damn incisors? Seymour: [looks terrified] Orin: It'd hurt, right? Seymour: Uh huh. Orin: You'd scream, right? Seymour: Uh huh. Orin: Well get your ass in here! Beetlejuice: I'm the ghost with the most, babe.

o.0;;; Why is this film so popular?! As for best 80s movie moments.... Anything from Beetlejuice. The finale of Little Shop of Horrors.

Totally agree. One of the best lines of the film, hands-down, mostly because it was so unexpected. The one scene of Nielson's that I can't stand, though, is in the White House bit wherein he gives out bobble heads and insults indians. On the other hand, running over a few aliens and tossing down a few 20s is comical. The mouse-rat conversation, however, is comedic gold. Improv~! CJ: Rate are out side, mice are inside. Mahalik: But what if a mouse goes outside does it become a rat, and if a rat is in the house, is it a mouse? CJ: I ain't seen no mouse outside. That's what I'm sayin'. Mahalik: That's because it's a rat, fool! CJ: Damn! You mighta just made fact. That's some real shit right there! George: Guys, I really don't see what this has anything to do with anything...

That right there is why the series has failed. The first one had an actual, squint-and-you'll-see-it kind of plot. It spoofed just what the title says, and it was great poking fun at the cliches. The second was nothing but gross-out humor; I had the misfortune to see such a thing in theaters as I was a Tim Curry fan. I don't think I laughed once. The third...I actually enjoyed. The style of humor was VASTLY different from the second, and it had a lot of great actors just having a good time. Would've like to see more of Eddie Griffin and Queen Latifah, and less of the horrid, 'What the fuck am I doing here?!' Leslie Neilson, though... The point of Scary Movie now seems to be a pure spoof of random things clumped together. Dr. Phil and Shaq?? Lame attempt at being clever. Brokeback Mountain? Oh, right, like THAT hasn't been done to death already. Unless Jack is going after Ennis with a butcher knife goin' "I don't know how to quit you!!", BBM ain't a scary movie. Edit: Going on to Rotten Tomatoes to see how the movie does in the ratings - it has a rotten rating of 41% - and I notice the poster. With each new movie, the posters get more and more cluttered...which fits each movie, actually, as each movie gets more and more overdone and pointless. As to the Brenda*slut debate, well, she was a bit of a slut in SM 3.

Well, there is THAT... But actually, I meant does anybody else just want to hit her to shut her the fuck up? All that moral dilema crap just annoyed the hell out of me. Damn sure you ain't the only one. From my journal about the ep: "Okay, if she was stupid enough to leave such a good treasure lying around, well, sucks to be her. It was her own stupidity to do such a thing AND expect everything to be okay and perfect. Like House has been trying to teach her since the first season, the world isn't a perfect place; everything is not all moral and good. She needs to accept that fact and grow up." There are two types of Camerons that they use on this show: the little manipulative princess, and the moralist police. They also try for this smart girl look with her glasses, which can remove sloooowly to show her ZOMG*SMARTS~! No matter what role she's in, she's always annoying - how she went on and ON about 'Waaah! Foreman stole my paper!!' was just bullshit. Foreman awesome tonight, AND he had the right argument. From what I recall, the two are just students working under House - or something; do correct me if I'm wrong, people - and it's highly unlikely they'll remain together forever. They're colleagues, as he said so brilliantly, not friends. However...it's so inconsistent. Having spent all of last week watching all of House, season 2, he spent a bit of time in one of the more recent ones trying to get her to take her HIV test. Something about he and House had a bet going on, and he would give her some of the money. It was comforting, it was nice... it was more than a colleague's concern. What's more, he spent most of "Hunting" annoyed at House for being so insensitive of Cameron's feelings. This sudden swerve doesn't QUITE make sense. Still, the friggin' 0wnage was awesome. I actually laughed. She goes up to him all 'If you apologize nicely then everything will be perfect!' I half-expected her to add 'and then we could, like, go out to dinner or somethin', tehe!' And he was all 'Bitch, plz~!' It was GREAT. Bad part is, we'll have to deal with her damned angst the next few eps.

Bug's Life - Antz Finding Nemo - Shark Tale Madagascar - The Wild Not listed in order of what came first, or in terms of preference. SO MUCH WORK goes into these CG films, it's simply amazing what they're able to do now. I've taken a modelling course at school - 3ds Max - and the difficulties with creating characters, adding proper light sources/shadows, etc... it's insane. It's a friggin' shame such advancements and talent are being used for many unfunny and unoriginal scenarios. Completely random: When looking up films Dreamworks has made to add to my list, I noticed this title - The Heartbreak Kid - and my first thought was 'They're making a movie about Shawn Michaels?!' They're also doing a side title to Shrek, with Puss in Boots. So..what was the topic starter again? Ohh, right, Scary Movie 4. Don't wanna see it.

Movies that everyone loves that you cannot get the love for
Yuna_Firerose replied to Masked Man of Mystery's topic in Television & Film
I'll add to the pile: Memoirs of a Geisha. Watched fifteen minutes of it, and was bored as hell. The picture is too dark, the shots too distorted/moving to make any sense at all, and add to that it starts off with a foreign language sans subtitles. Yeah, way to go. Both mum and I were bored -- so we put in Brokeback Mountain. Now, since I'm not watching this film in a theater of a stupid crowd that laughs at most all the dramatic moments, nor am I dealing with an upset stomach, I can actually focus more on the movie. I still think it's dull, and it's meant to be; it focuses more on real life than style. It's definetly one of those movies you have to stop half-way through and take a break from. I can see where it might not be to everyone's taste, and that's not just because of the "gay cowboy" bit. It's main drive is repression, about things unsaid -- the argument that Jack turned Ennis gay doesn't really hold. -

Are you speaking of Queen Katharine? No, Kellie. I mean, how do they expect us to believe her bullshit 'Like, omg, wut does thayat meen?' act given how she was the sluttiest dancer of all of 'em last night? Really. Anyway, Katharine is just background noise to me. Just love how they're stretching what is a fifteen minute show into an hour, making everyone in the bottom three seem lik they're marching off to their death or something. Geez... just announce whose crying home to their fams and get it over with ;; I hate all the guys 'cept for baldie rocker and Taylor -- but this scraggly-haired weepy eyed fucker, aka Ace? Can go to hell. He's so grunge-emo, it's disgusting. Singing a rock song while bawling his eyes out? Gimme a break... -

I cannot believe you're using Ultraviolet in comparison to Equilibrium. That simply boggles the mind. I'll say upfront that I only watched this movie recently. I knew nothing of how it was in somewhat of a feud with The Matrix. All I knew was that one, it was Christian Bale, and two, my one friend - who is a really amazing vidder - created several music videos to it. Through her videos, she made Queen of the Damned look good, alright? Even convinced me to see American Psycho (which I will forever associate with "Closer" and Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "Relax") Anyway. Equilibrium had some cheesy fight scenes, but the overall theme was about a man's struggle to be... human, and those he must overcome to accomplish this. The idea of a drug able to rid one entirely of emotion was interesting and eerily close to today. I highly doubt it's a coincidence that the name of the drug, Prozium, is strikingly similar to Prozac, or that all of the restricted things that heighten a person's emotions were all very nostalgic items, many looking from the 50s and 60s. It's just a movie that you either get or don't, I suppose. -

Playing it up - she sucks. "Come on - hahaha!" Er. Yeah. Great singing. What was up with Kellie's ho-banging dance? Only thing I could think of was 'Is this the real Kellie - the slut?' Paris..isn't she the one with a famous aunt or something? Only reason she's around, really. She's trying to be Fantasia, nothing more. -

Taylor > everyone else. Best of the night, hands-down. I think putting him on the radio would be killer, though; he's the type to be kick-ass to see live. -
Found here: Paula Abdul Tells Police She Was Assaulted Thursday April 6 6:01 PM ET Not so sure about the accuracy of Paula's report. I can see a concussion, if she had hit head first, but spinal injuries? Hmm... it's a bit iffy. But, in any case, the most important part of the report is her new contract. Another three years?? Ick! Simon's on for another five, Paula three... I've not heard if Randy's on again or not.
