Hence a problem with the franchise; trying to do far too much at once. Why do they need to add more characters, particuraly such CG-heavy ones as Angel, Beast, Juggernaut, and Dark Phoenix? Same for Shadowcat. Teleporting and angelic self-mutilation make for a far more interesting character than 'oh, lookee here, I'm going through a wall. Like, so cool!' Adding Beast to the mix just seems so ridiculous. You already have two blue mutants, both well established characters from the first two movies... and they want another? Why?? And don't even get me started on Halle fucking Berry's expanded role. Really, she has far more ego than talent. No matter what, it is highly, highly unlikely X3 will match up to X2. There's simply no way.

From Canmag: Exactly a week ago we posted that people have gotten a hold of the movie script for X-Men 3 and that there were already reviews of it online [read here]. The reviews claimed that the script was pretty horrid, with only a few scenes that deserved honorable mention. However, after reading the script reviews I stated 'I still question whether or not the script reviewed was the old X3 script, which supposedly contained a lot of the events mentioned in the review.' X3 Review on Old Script It seems that I was correct. The X3 script that had gotten around the internet was not the latest script that Ratner will be running with. Instead, the script reviewed was a much older script that had been given the cut about four months before this latest script came into play. What this means is that the new script is probably much better, but we also probably had to throw out the mutant sex. What can I say, it is a give and take. Thanks to IESB who took a closer look into this old-X3-script-review fiasco. So, are things looking good again for X-Men 3? With Fox cutting characters like Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler.. who the heck knows.

Found here: Cumming is actually happy that Singer won't be back, though he would not elaborate why. "I’m not disappointed, I can’t deny it. I think he’s really talented. I’m very proud of the film. I think it’s a great film. I didn’t enjoy working with him; I don’t really want to talk about that, but I didn’t particularly enjoy the experience." Besides that, Alan's journal entry mentioned that it was Fox's decision, not his. When I looked that article up, I found another on the casting, dated January 30, 2005: "I signed for two films, so I'm going to. The last I heard is that we're starting on the 20th of June, but they don't have a script or a director yet so that may be pushed a little bit. But they have to release it in May of 2006 for some reason so it's gonna be shot in the summer," Cumming said. *sigh* If only it were true. I suppose Alan's very own site would be the best source, and the most current. But, perhaps they'll do a last minute thing as with X2? I know Alan really, really, *really* hated the make-up aspect... so why not intro the image inducer? Could be fun.
-
Hm, perhaps I did. ^^ Fun, fun. But here's an interesting tidbit that I wish to inquire about: Alan Cumming/Nightcrawler. Is he in X3 or no? I read on his site the following: EX X MAN!! Alan will NOT be appearing in X3. Fox has not picked up his option to play Nightcrawler for a second movie. No Alan in X3? That coupled with the extremely lame schedule for filming - I heard/read six to seven weeks - is two negatives already.
-
So true. Porn on PSP will be another tool for the pedophiles. Hey, no need to lure the child back to the home; now you can take your perversions anywhere you go! So long as the battery lasts, of course.

Nein, you are not.

They have some funny skits - I was giggling like mad on the 'Deck' skit. Its one of those wordplay skits... kinda like Colonel Angus - but others, like the gravy one and 'the remote is dead!', are just cringe worthy. When they're good, they're good, but when they're bad...ick. One woman on the show is just annoying; her sole talent being screeching. If one call that a talent, that is. ....I don't think we can.

Schoolgirl was interesting, but not really 'sexy'.

Toss up between Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory and BloodRayne 2.

*Also guilty*. It's not just that she's hot, it's her whole kick-ass attitude. The movie will suck and be ignored as it will NEVER compare to the feeling of slicing and dicing a guy to juicy bits then hearing Rayne quip 'Oh, don't worry. They do amazing things with prostethics these days'. Also, as this is semi on-topic, which of her goth outfits is hotter? Her default (right) or the extra 'Dark Rayne' costume: Oh, and Rayne not winning 'Sexiest Finish'? Pfft. Fuck off, I say.

No matter if they mess it the third, we'll still have the brilliance that was the first two movies. But that's me, though. The article seems insanely lengthy and I certainly don't have the time. (Sam Fisher occupying my thoughts lately). Having read the discussion though... Storm and Wolvie? WTF?!?!?!? If there's going to be *any* romance with Storm (which there shouldn't be, but...), why not do the smart thing and go Storm and Kurt? They seemed to have a start of something in X2. Cyke dies? .....Ya know, this hardly brings a reaction from me. I love all the characters, really I do, but in the movies, Cyke has been so...so... dull. Granted, he shows wonderful emotion at the end of X2, but for the most part, he's always doing one of three things: 1)wimpily fighting with Logan; 2)being all lovey-dovey with Jean; 3)acting as the leader. He does all three really well, sure, but... bleh. Personally, I'd love bigger roles for Pyro, Rogue, Kurt, and Magneto instead of the weather *coughbitchcough* witch getting expanded screen time. Maybe they'll let her fly this time. I like her, the character, but Halle Berry pisses me off with her ego. I'm not sure how I feel about the addition of Beast. (For a good laugh, I suggest checking out the thread on imdb; it's so amusing how the immature posters equate sophistication and intelligence to homosexuality.) I know virtually nothing of Kelsey Gramamr so I'll simply wait to give my judgement. Gambit... okay, what I wanna know is, why is he such a fan fave? Sure, he's cool - thievery, staff, wild cards - but why is he always made into such a big deal? Again, I'm not denying that he has a cool power, but he's not that interesting. At least to me, anyway. No matter what, though, I don't think there could be a better opening to a movie, even X3, then Kurt's attack on the White House. Seriously... that was beyond amazing. Yes, I am a Nightcrawler fangirl. How could you tell?

10 TV Cliches That Should Be BANNED
Yuna_Firerose replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in Television & Film
Love Interest/Sexual Tension Every show seems to have a love interest involved. If done well, then, it's fine. But, more chances than not, its usually annoying, a time-waster, and bogs the show down. Case in point: House, M.D.; the "relationship" being House and Cameron. She quit during one episode then, on another, refused to be rehired even when there was an severe epidemic at the hospital. By the end of the episode, she only agreed to come back if House would go on a date with her. During which she used Freudian psychology to say that no matter what House said or did, no matter if he was mean or nice, both proved he liked her. Absolutely disgusting, I thought. Thankfully, the relationship was dropped. -

Brave Combo - 'Happy Wanderer'. I made a music video out of it.

'Because he is Batman, you moron!' 'Was.' *bang* Ah, the man of cool {and insanely poofy hair}.
-
I think 'Returns' could be all about Batman; he doesn't need to be present in every scene for us to see that. We see him conducting business {with Max}, and how he struggles with a relationship. Yet its not with some random woman, but Selena Kyle aka Catwoman. The movie, in a sense, could be entirely focused on those two. All the events surrounding them, including her former boss's liason with Penguin, help keep them apart. As Catwoman, she got involved in the mess of villains by trying to destroy Max. Through Max, she's connected to Penguin, in turn, Batman's enemy. Very, very twisted sort of love-triangle, if'n ya think about it.

Found from Tim Burton Collective which, in turn, is credited from DarkHorizons.com: The first two films are finished. Tim Burton re-recorded his commentary tracks with a "guest." Disc One of both will include remastered pictures and sound with commentary. Disc 2 has trailers, TV Spots, vintage footage and a new featurette on the film. The first film also gets a feature length documentary. Joel recorded commentary tracks for the theatrical edition of 'Batman Forever' along with Batman & Robin. Afterwards Joel decided to ask WB to recut 'Forever' back to something that resembles his original edit. WB agreed and gave him a budget to do so. Joel is currently in Burbank working on some alterations to the film. It's expected the original version will be there with the new cut to be done with 'seamless branching' technology. The extended cut is expected to run around 2 hrs 35 mins. Schumacher is going to add as much footage as possible back in. Also some of the effects were not finished in the early workprint and they need to be finished and he has been given a small budget to work with for that, all new effects will be digital. The original Batman is expected to hit shelves in May (just prior to the release of Batman Begins in theaters) and a box set of all four films is planned for October or November, more than likely available to tie in with the release of Begins on DVD.

Titus Sleepy Hollow Suicide Kings To Wong Foo: Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar Around the Bend

My fave of the Batmans is both Returns and Forever; Robin was okay for cheesy, lame humor, but that is it. Returns, I loved, for its amazing character development of all four of the characters. Watch for the villains, not Batman. Catwoman, Walken, and Penguin. What more couldst thou wish? Oh, fine, a believable Batman. Well, can't have it all. Forever, also for its characters. Plus, Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey simply 0wned that movie, the latter especially, infusing the movie with a wickedly demented humor.

What are some great movies you've never seen?
Yuna_Firerose replied to CBright7831's topic in Television & Film
Citizen Kane, TTotSM, Laurence of Arabia, or Casablanca I know 'Family Video' does, if one is near you. They have a Classics section. As for "great" videos I have yet to see........none. Because I don't believe the critics or the general populace. Just because a certain number of people say its great, does not mean that it would be for me. For instance... 'Around the Bend'. Scored awfully fuckin' low on rottentomatoes, yet it is one of the best movies of the year {'04}. -
I get the 'Cannot Find Server' error all the time when uploading House M.D. episodes. I guess its the file size [350] that totally squiks YSI.

New Fall Network Shows/Lineups thread
Yuna_Firerose replied to MarvinisaLunatic's topic in Television & Film
"House" is all I need for my fill of TV. -
At first, I thought it was an interesting story, but was vaguely annoyed. I thought it was a little too... I don't know. MTV. A little too much like other shows that pull out a sort of recap/splicing things in/flashback/extra pizzazz during the end of their season. I just thought House was above the fray on that angle. Not that I don't like flashback shows it's just that House was never about flashbacks. It was about one, maybe two cases. Not about jumping around and being full of pop. I mean, don't get me wrong, I liked it. The whole Carmen Electra thing was cracking me up. I adore Carmen, I think she's a sweet girl, and really good about mocking herself. How they cut her down a little with "she's here to be in my fantasy, not be Meryl Streep" or whatever, saying she wasn't a great actress. Thought that was great. And Chase and Foreman with the dog, and the rock/paper/scissors? Priceless. I really liked it. I especially liked the class part, and was extremely jealous that I didn't get to be in that class. I'd love to be lectured to by him. And then House was talking about the believed to be drug addict to that Asian woman (never got a name on her, did we?) and he started pushing her? At first I was like, whoa, alright Dr House, I get you're trying to show them they have to be able to operate under pressure, but you're being a little too harsh, aren't you? And that's when it starts to dawn on me... the leg. Uh oh. And then he calls her useless, and then he calls Anthony Keagan useless (and woah, haven't seen Anthony Keagan in like, 5 years) and then he's yelling at everyone, and Cameron pops her big nose in (sorry, I just didn't think it was appropriate of her to shout out over the class like that) and yells muscle damage. The look on his face. That's when it clicked. Oh, shit. He's not talking about patients. He means him. Though, I did still think at the time he was talking about patients, only that the fact that the leg was in trouble REMINDED him of himself. I gotta say I'm a little confused, after having seen the ep all the way through now, whether or not the farmer and the volleyball player were real, or the visions he saw. Doesn't matter. The episode is now all about House for me, fuck everything else. When Seala showed up, I had a huge smile on my face because I love her. But I can't help but think "bitch" for coming to him. Without him even knowing she's married? Bitch. Bitch, bitch, bitch. I'm sitting there chanting this, and I'm like "right on" when he blows her off. Millions of doctors, you have to pick the one whose heart you broke? Now, keep in mind, this is before I know the backstory. And I even gotta say Wilson peeved me a bit with trying to push him into doing it. I don't know whose friend he was first, but to me his loyalty should lie with House. It should be "I think you're making a mistake, but if you can't do it I totally understand" instead of, fucking, "she loves you, she just can't stand to be around you." I loved how he cringed through that line, like it physically hurt him to say it to House, Robert Sean Leonard did a good job, but... still. I wish he hadn't said it. Cause ow. But. Then again. Don't know the backstory yet. Then we get to the backstory. Misdiagnoses, laying dormant for four days, might have to cut the leg off, he doesn't want them to. She pleads, she begs for him to do it. The risks are too high to just keep a leg. She uses his own stubborness against him, bringing up what he would say to a patient (and yes, that's exactly what he'd say to a patient, except he'd say it meaner), etc. But he's being stubborn, and wants to keep his leg, no matter what the cost. And can I blame him? Nope. But she loves him, and wants to keep HIM, no matter what the cost to his leg, and can I blame her? Nope. Well damn. We're at a quandry here. And then she makes what had to be the hardest decision of her life... going behind his back and deciding to do the midway surgery. Ugh, that had to be hard to decide. And I honestly can't say I wouldn't do the same thing. I mean, it's his LIFE. And it's quite possibly as simple as LEG OR LIFE, and ya know what? Life, man. I choose life for the man I love. And if he's pissed at me? Too fuckin' bad. That's just too fuckin' bad, cause I'd rather have you hobble around being a crabby old cripple, than be DEAD because you're fucking STUBBORN. But. As him? Were I him? I would probably never forgive her. Never. Every time I looked down and couldn't move my leg. Every time I felt any pain. Every time I took a pill. Every fucking time I stood up, sat down, lied down, took a piss, picked up my cane, drank water. Fucking every second of every day, I'd be reminded of what she did to me. Cause coming from his perspective? She did it to him. And yes, he probably knows, deep down in his heart, she did it FOR him. But. Yeah. In your bitter moments. In your moments of pain. You're gonna BLAME someone. Think the what ifs. The what if it would have worked out alright. The what if it wouldn't have killed him. The what if she hadn't done this, how different would my life be right now? And when she says she's sorry, and he says you have nothing to be sorry for? Broke me. Totally, completely broke me. Can you believe that? I blame it on the hormonal imbalance I experience about a week after my period, cause it's been about the right amount of time. Also, I blame it on Hugh's wonderful amazing and entirely awe-some acting. And, just to make a comment here... no wonder Cuddy loves him so much. No, I don't mean romantically. Maybe she does love him like that, too, but I mean emotionally. She just loves him. She's protective of him, she risks her job, her livelihood, to save him. And I still don't know if he worked there before or after the leg thing, but... she was his doctor. And she's got to partially blame herself. She's got to. For not diagnosing it. For doing the surgery that Seala (whose character name I've forgotten already) ok'd KNOWING that House didn't want it. For the pain he's in. For the loss of his leg. Just. No wonder. I gotta say, I am no longer thinking she's just a bitch. That decision she made, while it very well might be the decision I would have made, would break them. It would absolutely break them. She killed their relationship with that. And to me, it's kind of a blameless kind of thing. Because I do not fault her for doing it. And I do not fault him for being bitter/angry about it. It's just... the way it happened, right or wrong. And I do still think she should have gone to a different doctor? Well. I don't think she's as much of a bitch for coming to him as I did at the beginning. It also gives me a little bit of insight as to why he's so jumpy when it comes to treating patients. It's always kind of bugged me, how he gets one idea in his head and he treats it before knowing for sure. Well. If one person had thought just one day, two days sooner, about his leg being because of what it was, then maybe he'd still have his leg, his girl, and his life. So yeah. No wonder he's "risky" with treatments. He's trying to prevent it from happening to someone else. My only regret for this episode is that I didn't get to see Wilson in the flashback. I would have liked to see him by House's bedside, or at the operating table. Something. Oh well.

Okay, so I got desperate. No search for 'Pennies From Heaven' has shown up on my WinMX and the dvd might as well be non-existant where I am. So... on a whim, I checked out NetFlix. They have it, cool, great. But I have no money. A Free Trial version~! Hm. Investigation occurs. It says that there's a two week trial period, after which the credit card will be billed. You can cancel anytime and no billing charges. Do I have a credit card? Hell no. My mom does, though. So... after much debate, I... put it in. So... after much debate, I... put it in. Major nervousness. Anyone else attempt the free trial only to cancel? If so, any complications? Inquiring primarily of their billing. It says that if you cancel, there's no charges but.. yeah. Always the fine print that it doesn't put on the site.
