As an editor, I have to say nice use of transitions and fades. -

Speaking of Depp, I truly feel really bad for him, as well as any other smokers in the room. Three hours having to sit through all this....eesh. And goodness forbid any of them fall asleep for such would be plastered all over the screens later. -

Your Depp fandom wouldn't have anything to do with that statement, would it? Perhaps. But that doesn't mean I would be happy if FN swept the awards as Aviator or LotR did. Such a thing truly means overhyped, no matter the movie. On the opposite side of the coin, its annoying to see something nominated for so many categories - PotC comes to mind because of all the noms it got last year; effects, music, and the like - and not win a thing. One might include Depp for Actor in that, but not necessarily, as I was mostly referencing the movie as a whole. Either way, I already told myself that, if Foxx wins for Best Actor tonight, I'm going out tomorrow and renting the fucking thing to see what all the goddamned hype is about. -

'Bout time Finding Neverland won something, jesus mary on a moped! The Aviator is what Lord of the Bullrings was last year... completely annoying. -
Firstly, Johnny's speech was just classic. *woman announcer* Here to present the Best Performance By a Female Actor...blah, blah, blah.... Johnny Depp! Johnny, with Jack-beard and 'stache and Morty's bedhead, walks up to the podium and makes THIS grand speech: "Hi." *pauses, scratches head* "Hi." "The nominees for Best Actress are...." *nominees..blah, blah, blah* "And the actor goes to...Hilary Swank." That's got to be the best speech I've ever seen ^-^ But...gah...he was robbed AGAIN!! Jamie Foxx won yet ANOTHER award for Ray, Sideways won best picture. So I'm curious... are 'Ray' and 'Sideways' really that good, ie, worth a rental?

The God, the Devil, and Bob. -
Wow. In comparison, my 'disturbing moments' seem quite...tame. The rape scene in Stir of Echoes. The plastic over the head, the nails breaking.. just fuck, so wrong. The entire Adrenachrome scene in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Not only was it so bad to see Raoul that 'whammed out of his head' - to quote Johnny on the commentary - but the music and demon!Gonzo was just....odd. Also, the reptile-acid moment in F&L. The first time I saw it, it was just too much. I ended up stopping it and deleting it moments after. 'Course, my curiosity got the better of me, and I ended up downloading it again. Now its one of my fave Depp movies.

"I Would Walk 500 Miles" was from "Benny and June", a film Johnny Depp did in the early 1990s that basically bombed and died a horrible, horrible, horrible death at the box office. Hence why no one mentioned it.... Odd... the movie was so beautiful and wonderfully crafted. Everyone I talk to enjoyed it and a lot of critics seemed to like it, as well. {80% Fresh on the Tomatometer} That it would do so terribly is quite a surprise.
-
Eh... it was a musical remake. So? Still a classic ^^
-
I'll settle this argument... Its orange. There we go ^^;
-
Noone has yet to mention "Little Shop of Horrors"? For shame.
-
What I'm confused about is why talk about 'I Would Walk 500 Miles' but not the movie that made it popular [or is it vice versa?]. Instead they discuss 'Whats Eating Gilbert Grape', which I missed, but I'm guessing they mostly discussed the one woman's weight? Pfft... if thats the case, I'm glad I missed it. Anyway, while I'm usually a fan of these shows, this last batch was a total waste to me. I taped a few things, yeah, but barely anything in comparison to the last time. MIB was tolerable for the other shows, but for here, they tried FAR too much with him. I remember on one of the 'RAW on...' segments, it was comprised of him mostly staring blanky into the camera. Considering there's only an hour for the show, this inclusion seemed completely senseless.

On the Golden Globes, when Aviator won for best picture, I remember Depp helping the director Martin Scorsese out of his seat.. I thought that was just such a nice gesture. In comparison to these comments of Murray's tantrum, its even more of a kind gesture. Just thought to throw that out there.

Yeah, I read in one of the more recent Entertainment Weekly's that they tried their best to keep everything real and not delve into melodrama. Which is awesome, I think, and their effort really showed. Its a shame there isn't a nomination for Freddy Highmore... that kid was just astounding in Finding Neverland.

Best Picture - I've only seen FN and thats because I downloaded it. Lack of funds prevent it from being properly viewed, sadly. So, naturally, my vote is on FN.. such a beautiful movie, I think. Can't say much about the others.. Best Actor - Naturally, my vote is on Depp. Though, in all honesty, I think he deserved it MUCH MORE for Pirates... really, without his performance, the movie would be your average, run of the mill action movie even with the awesome Geoffrey Rush.

Now you sound like Shooter, darling. I'm always on AIM, luv.. usually invisible, though.

*nervous chuckle* Heh.. I'm not sure which muse to blame that one on. Perhaps Sands? He's insane like that, plus that sounds like his quirky sense of humor. Or perhaps Mort? Or both?

Like I said, before the trailer I was all 'eh...I'll pass.' Then I watched that preview and I was a squeeing fangirl by the time Victoria said "Married". Firstly, the voice. Sleepy Hollow is admittedly my faveorite movie, one that I'll happily become your stereotypical fangirl for. So to hear that Ichabod*voice reincarnated... Secondly, the animation. The second time I watched the preview - following very shortly after the first; shall we say, two seconds? - I viewed with no sound. The nervous gestures of Victor whilst he stumbles through the word M-word are just beautiful; the wrinkling of his tie, the way he glances about for some sort of escape... okay, yes, I'm also a fangirl of CGness. On that note, am I the only one who noticed that Victor's hair was the only one that had any sort of movement? I found that most amusing.

I will have to kill their children, you know this. Remember. Remember that it is my burden to do so, and judge me not for my sins, for I commit them for the benefit of us all. That is if our wild bouts of animalistic copulations ever produce children. We could just fuck like rabid bunnies...without breeding a single soul. We could, instead, choose to sacrifice human children to our pagan God in heathenistic rituals, starting our own cult, and therefore acquire many followers. They will be the ones producing offspring, not us. When the time comes, said babies will be our sacrifices. ................ Don't ask me where all that came from. I just woke up twenty minutes ago. Do get somewhat back on topic, Vitamin X's post was quite beautifully worded and I whole-heartedly agree ^^;

From imdb.com: As far as I'm concerned Victor is a CG/claymation version of Ichabod Crane. Everything is the same! The voice, the nervousness around women, and best of all, those cute whimpers when he's scared witless. Simply beautiful. A friend of mine even made a post about how alike they are. She compares pics and stuff and, eesh, the results are undeniable ^^ I must admit that, despite the Depp-Burton genius collaboration, I wasn't really paying attention to this. But after seeing that trailer, I am a converted fan. Pathetic, I know, but I can't help it. Its not just the voices and the collaboration that hooked me, but the animation as well. Totally reminds me why I'm attending ITT and putting up with the damn college math course... But, anyway, this movie looks to be amazing.

*shrug* I felt no reason to lie about it. Growing up with such a thing, it tends to become natural. Yet my carpooling partner, whom I'm stuck in the car with for about two hours or so every Tuesday, listens to rap music. Very loudly. Such is irony. Having listened to a lot of that kind of music, I must say I am still baffled by it. What's the point of a song that is nonsensible and the words, half of which would get bleeped out on tv, not even heard? Though some I could see why they would be liked.. his type of rap used a lot of mixed sounds - not sure if all rap is like this so, to be fair, I only said his type. One, for instance, used a clip from Oliver... 'In this life, one thing counts; in the bank, large amounts'. Of the entire song, that was the only thing I could actually translate and understand. Everything else was simply grungy gibberish. ...Thanks, but I already have a girlfriend ^^ I don't, but I know quite a few art sites that I could direct you to. *shakes head* Ye gods.. that fandom is so fucking popular with the writers and artists, I could find about a hundred or so links within moments. I second this. *awaits the defense*

You had a picture of Bloom kissing Depp. I know you like Bloom, that is why I said that. I cannot possibly be a fan of Bloom, having only viewed one movie of his. And, really, I have no intention to see any others, Wilde being excluded since he had a very minor role. Besides, his acting in PotC was not that great. He was simply your cliched pretty-boy hero.
