They should have gone with Robin Williams. Robin Williams as Wonka... oh that would be so fuckin' hilarious. He's zany and random enough. In the one pic, did anyone notice his cane? It's made of candy! Fun, fun. [i just woke up and I'm bored...forgive me. I have an hour of time to kill before my Finding Neverland download finishes] What I hate about the pics is his hair... *way* too perfect. I prefer crazy*hair Johnny meself.

Ye gods this movie looks like a whole lotta suckyness. From watching the trailer, it seems like a bunch of CG artists/cartoonists went on an acid trip or something. It's just....ick. The only reason I'd ever pay money to see this shit - via rental mostly likely - is for Loki. Everything else looks incredibly UNfunny.
-
I'm with you on that. Like...where does space Oompa Loompas fit in at? Personally, I prefer the original ones... just me, though. Either way, I'll wait to pass judgement.

and has lots of hugging. Don't forget the moral lesson that's to be 'learned' every half hour...

Indeed, yes. If none of the above are available, any one of his songs would be perfect for the scene. 'Sweet Dreams', perhaps. More pictures: Now, I have faith in Depp and Burton, but this scares me completely. Veruca Salt Violet Agustus Gloop

Perhaps. By the way, in your sig pic... who is pictured on the left? I'm just curious... he looks familar.

Burton and Depp... the clever masterminds behind 'Sleepy Hollow'. And 'Ed Wood'. And 'Edward Scissorhands'. Obviously, I'm definetly looking forward to it. For those curious, here's more pictures:

The Grudge: "Here it comes...get ready...almost...

I hate trailers that do that... Secret Window's full trailer was the same way with all the major plot points. -
God, the Devil, and Bob. A comedy about religion, and the Devil voiced by Alan Cumming. What could be better?

My folks rented 'Home on the Range' the other night - thankfully, for my sanity, I did not watch the movie - and, of course, just like with any other Disney movie, there were tons of previews. Almost all the 'Coming soon to DVD and Video...' previews were for special editions... Mulan, Aladdin.. And, though this wasn't advertised, it is definetly the one I'm most looking forward to: Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl (Special Edition) . Allow me a moment to be a fangirl here... There's going to be THREE discs!! Look at all the extras we got with two...now they'll be THREE!! Okay, I'm done. Moving right along... It's not just Disney. You have Ed Wood coming out and - this next one I recently read about - Shawshank Redemption. Not to say I'm complaining - Hell, I'm looking forward to Mulan, Ed Wood, and POTC - yet it just seems so odd that, all of a sudden, you have all these 'Special Editions' coming out. [i'm definetly not complaining when it comes to POTC; yet that'll make it, what, a 'Special Collector's', since the first two-disc set was already a 'Collector's'?]

Wow, nice of you "free thinkers" to be such lemmings. I can give you a LITANY of lies and problems with Moore's movie, if you'd like. -=Mike Having seen Moore's film, and being past the point of registration, I would love to read these.

More on the POTC 'Lost Disc': Okay, this is copy and pasted from http://www.potcfandom.com/news.php Buena Vista Home Entertainment have announced the Region 1 DVD release of Pirates Of The Caribbean: The Lost Disc for 2nd November 2004 priced at $29.99 SRP. Released in time for the holiday season, this new set packages together the existing 2-Disc SE with a 'Lost Disc' containing 8 never-before-seen bonus features... “Becoming Captain Jack”: The film’s star Johnny Depp divulges revelations about fulfilling his boyhood dream of playing a pirate and his unique “take” on Jack Sparrow. “Becoming Barbossa”: Dive deeper into how actor Geoffrey Rush fleshed out his villainous character. “Thar She Blows!”: The film’s ship Interceptor is featured, from building it to blowing it up. “The Monkey’s Name Is Jack”: Meet Levi and Tara, the two tiny masters of mayhem who play the infamous primate pirate, and get Johnny Depp’s and Geoffrey Rush’s recollections on working with them. “Pirates Around The World”: A fun comparison of dubbed versions from across the seven seas. More “Fly On The Set” Featurettes: Join the filmmakers as they create additional key sequences from the movie. “Spirit of the Ride”: Johnny Depp, director Gore Verbinski and more of the filmmakers reflect on their earliest memories of the attraction and how it inspired the film. “Sneak Attack Animatic”: Before executing the movie’s sneak attack sequence, the filmmakers created animation based on how they visualized the scene – and here is the animatic for this exciting scene.

Movies that people say they hate... without seeing
Yuna_Firerose replied to a topic in Television & Film
I refuse to see them only because I know I'll probably like it. And, really, I don't need another fandom right now. As for Farenheit 9/11, that was actually quite a good movie. -
I've posted 5 of these in my LJ, and I figured I'd post the first here. If anyone's interested in reading more, I'll either post more to this thread [so as not to crowd the forum] or post the link to my lj. Sleepy Hollow commentary Chapters 1-4 1. Firstly, if you're running from some enemy, it is probably a good idea *not* to stop at the scary pumpkin head-thingy. Really..I suggest that you continue to run. And secondly, I totally love the sound of the Hessian's sword being unsheathed... as soon as you hear it, you *know* the shit has just hit the fan... but, more simply, someone's gonna lose their head. Just good, clean, family fun, eh? 2. I'm a total Ichabod-fangirl and so I don't fill up this commentary with too many Ichabod-pics/comments, I think I'll state my reasons here for the fangirlness. First of all, I love all the layers to him.. he's a detective whose obsessed with 'sense and reason..cause and consequence'. He believes everything is logical, nothing is supernatural. This reasoning was borne from his childhood: his mother was an 'innocent child of nature' who was murdered by his father, a priest. Such memories are repressed, but he slowly starts to remember them as his his reasoning shatters. His...methods of investigation are ahead of his time, which makes him quite the outsider in his field. Yet he's so damn SQUEAMISH! [Quite amusing, acutally ] Ya know, I don't think Ichabod ever thought he'd get a chance to try out his theories before coming to Sleepy Hollow... which could explain his hesitance to examine any of the bodies. In a very late chapter, another layer of his personality is revealed; when we get there, I'll discuss that. But for now, let's discuss his hair, shall we? As the movie progresses, and his logical reasoning continues to fail him, his hair becomes more and more mussed/wild. It's like Mort Rainey's hair psychology..only backwards. Mort's goes from mussed to neat; Icchy's from neat to crazed. Side note: Does anyone else besides me notice how there's similarities in all of Burton's movies? [i can't speak for Mars Attack! since I haven't seen it.] But Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, and Ichabod Crane: all wear black, all have INSANE hair, and all three are beautiful and unique in their own ways. Another thing I enjoy about him, and one I can relate to: he hates the church. The Church is nothing more than a tool to be used to herd weaklings about. Heaven is a place of blind, empty promises; a utopia that noone can attain as they are 'sinners'. The thought of priests and other religious leaders damning their congregation for what they term 'sins' is sickening to Ichabod. Righteousness. What an ugly word. Who got to choose what was right and what was wrong, anyway? Uh...heh. Moving on... 3. See that torture device? Heh...Depp kept that. Also, I like his snobbish/'I'm so above your stupidity' look here. Depp is just *amazing* with his facial expressions and his eyes. You could look at him and his face could be passive, yet one look at those eyes tell so much. For instance..Sam in Benny and Joon. With one look he could reveal so much emotion.. anger, sadness, desperation. Just another of the reasons I like him. 4. This is, I believe, something Ichabod wishes for: freedom. Once the bird is let loose, it can fly to wherever it chooses to; while Ichabod is burdened by reason - nay, 'beaten down by it!' - and trapped in a world of Victorian prudery and restrictions. He can't practice law the way he wishes, he's insulted each time he tries to veer the courts into the right direction of justice and, I'm guessing, he's probably the target of many snide remarks due to his good looks, his effeminate appearance, etc. [Ya know, almost every *living* guy in the movie - save for *maybe* Bram - is old and/or quite unattractive. Hmm....] 5. Awww...he's trying to sleep. Heh.. *drifting..drifting..HOWLING...great. Now I'm awake again.* So he tries it once more. *drifting...drifting...THUNK...dammit! >.<;* Side note: Isn't he just beautiful when he sleeps? 6. *Goddess* is this town beautiful! In the movie, it's Sleepy Hollow, but in the real world... I shall name it...Mini-Burton! No, wait. Burtonville? .... Whatev. Anyway. I love Tim Burton's choice of coloring for the movie. Everything is *mostly* black and white or very dulled, save for Icchy's childhood memories and the end. [Note: I have not altered these caps in any way; usually when I cap from a movie, I use Auto-Contrast in PS7 to brighten them. Not in this instance ^.^] 7. Ahhh!! Sex!! Poor Icchy's virginal mind is corrupted!!! ...Sorry. I'm just in love with Depp's facial expressions in this movie. He does the 'OMG,WTF?!' and 'OH, SHIT!!' expressions so well. Now, I know I'm not alone on this, but... there should be a silent film made. And Depp should be the lead. And we fangirls will go 'squee!' 8. Again, his expressions are priceless. Perhaps now, however, I shall like to comment on the relationship between Ichabod and Katrina. Personally, I think it's fine for the movie, but I *much* prefer the pairing of Ichabod and Hessian [i was corrupted by this beautiful fic]. But, speaking purely of canon, I don't think the two have enough chemistry between them for a husband-wife relationship. Sure, she shows him that not everything is logical - even protecting him with spells - and he even saves her, yet I'm not certain if they could last beyond a friendship. They're so *different*; he seems like the type to be content with reading by candlelight, and while I believe Katrina would be too, on occasion anyway, I think she's more of a social butterfly. More of an outgoing type of person; one who attends many rich parties, knows who made Lady So-and-So's dress, gossips about this noble and that married lady....well, you get the idea. Please tell me that I am not alone in this? Also, when her hands first touch Ichabod, the sound reminds me of a slap to the face... I don't know why, but I wince whenever I hear it. Despite my adamant for the two not going beyond a friendship, I like the kiss she gives him before she knew who he was, or his intentions. And their reactions - him being scared stiff and her playful - tell so much about their personalities. I told myself I would only post ten but I shall cheat because I can ^^ But it is only 8a, therefore, I do not break my 10-cap limit, savvy? 8a. See what I mean about the expressions? 'Course you can't tell much of Kat's but..who cares. I'm focusing on Icchy, anyway. 9. Now, here's a question for the Depp fans: did Johnny have his 3 square tat during the production of this movie? If he did, then, I notice, he wears that ring to cover it up. It's amusing how, for each character of his, they think up ways to cover up tats [though, unfortunately, that means a lot of long sleeves...] 10. I'll close out this first commentary by discussing the side characters. They're such a small role, yet they're such memorable characters at the same time. What's amusing is that the true culprit of the crimes keeps you guessing until the very end. This I can say for sure by reading my friend's comments whilst she watched the movie for the first time. For a while it was uncertain then, as the clues started to come together, she first suspected Katrina. Then...nope, it's the insane wifey! Heh. Brilliance on Burton's part [then again...when is he NOT brilliant?] Well, that about wraps up my first commentary. Shall I continue? Feedback - good or bad - feeds my insanity.

I'm currently browsing through the usual review sites - IGN, Gamespot, Gamespy.. - reading up reviews for the game. For the most part, they seem positive, and the game seems overall wonderful. It's not likely that I'll buy this game anytime soon - lack of funding, ya know - but I'm still curious to know what everyone else thinks. So..thoughts? Opinions?
-
If you already have the initial two-disc release of POTC, there really isn't any reason to buy the upcoming three-disc Special Edition. It's just the initial two-disc release packaged together with an extra disc (see also Spider-Man Deluxe Edition). Well, my buying it will all depend on what the extras on the third disc are.
-
Yeah, I heard about that on the official BloodRayne site. *shrug* Doesn't bother me too much.
-
Not knowing what his work is like - perhaps that's a good thing? - I'll wait to see the finished product to pass judgement. I only hope he'll continue in the direction Singer [X-Men Movie God] was going with. Halle is gone, so that already ruins any idea of a decent Storm-Nightcrawler SL. I just hope he's not too ruined, or forgotten, in X3.

Why...because you don't like it?
-
Well, it turns out the reason it wouldn't is because our Windows was updated...or something. So we - meaning my mum's roomy - updated the DVD player to Win DVD 5 platinum. How she updated I don't, nor wish to, know. I can make captures again! [along with a whole nother mess of options]. The problem now is...MY DVDs HAVE NO SOUND!! I can play videos files in the WinDVD player just fine - sound and all - yet not my DVDs. *sigh* I can never win.
-
For some inexplicable reason, my 'Intervideo WinDVD' is being all wonky today. Yesterday, everything worked perfectly. Today, the capture doesn't work - you press 'p' and the image is capped and appears in a certain folder. I press 'p' and...nothing. Also, it's being weird on animated menus. For those that have POTC and/or have seen the main menu on the first disc.. like, the letters would be shaky. Yesterday, I know for certain it was not like this. My mom's roomy added a few programs to the compy, but nothing bad. Like, she upgraded our 'Ad-Aware'..but that wouldn't mess with the DVD program, would it? I've tried taking caps but nothing shows up; so I tried taking caps, then restarting. Still nothing. *sigh* Any help at all would be appreciated.

Not Another Teen Movie [just so hilarious!] Scary Movie 1 and 3. 2 just....sucked.

No because he was too busy being broody "The whole world's against me" guy. I swear, someone didn't have to hate him just because they were the bad guys, he made people hate him by being such an asshole. Personally I would've kicked Rinoa the Obnoxious One to the curb and ridden off into the sunset on the SeeD Academy with Quistis. Shoot I would've done it after the FMV scene introducing Quistis. Ah, but don't you know all the fangirls just *love* the whole angsty/broody/prettyness? Though I may think he's cute [hey, bishys are hot..] I think they went way overboard with the drama-angst. He just repressed his emotions too much, that's what I think. Maybe he just needed to get it on with one or a few of his teammates. *shrug* Rinoa... *goddess* did that chick ever annoy me. 'Oh, I'm so rich so let's start a revolution, tee-hee!'. *shudder* What annoyed me the most is that every single character seemed to be instantly her bitch. Quistis left her mission post just to say sorry to Rinoa? Yeah fuckin' right! Seriously, whoever thought up that concept should be shot. ..Ranting is such fun. ........I am officially freaked out now.
-
I'm not the only one who saw that? ..Wow. I'm impressed. And yes, Wadsworth so ruled that movie.
-
I once downloaded all of Rayne's sayings and, just out of boredom, combined all of her 'drinking' sounds. And...yeah, kinda sounded like something out of a soft-core porn flick. As for Quistis...heh. You just *know* she's the kinky one; she does, after all, fight with a whip...
