Well, like I said, it's not, like, the bestest game ever made. It has it's weak points. One being the action. It's a bloody good and gory time...but it does get repeticious after a while. The in-game graphics are just okay for what they are..but the CG sequences are really awesome. Well, there was sucking going on, anyway...
-
Well, it's a game, so...not really any sex. She moans when she feeds, and makes some risque comments, but that's about all. Oh, and she dresses in a sexy-kinky S&Mish outfit. Here's a bit of story: What that all translates to, basically, is she's a half-vamp with kick-ass blades that goes crazy on the Nazi army. The graphics weren't that great, really, with the first game [especially after seeing models of the second version...check BloodRayne2.com for more on that] but it was the combos that made it. Slicing bodies in half, high jumps [doubled with a cool spin-kick] and a nifty chain that she can use to grab enemies and bring to her. I don't know if it's an OMG-MUST-0WN~!!11!!1 but it is definetly worth a rental.

This is probably one of those retarded questions, but here goes anyway: How can you tell if your VCR/DVD combo has, or does not have, the capabilities to record VHS material onto a DVD? ..Or is that even possible? Because for my one tape - a bootleg copy of Cabaret with, yes, Alan Cumming - I know I probably couldn't get it anywhere else. It cost me $30 on eBay; not that I'm a fangirl or anything...nope. 'Course not. Anyway, I'd like to get it on DVD...and I don't have a lot of money available to me [say...less than $25?] Thus, the question.

How would I go about doing that?

I vote Dr. Phil, mainly because it's just so fucking pathetic. My mom watches it sometimes and it's just...wow. It totally disgusts me. Like one show, for instance, was about this chick who still used baby talk to get her way. And she just came off as being REALLY proud of it and shit. Like 'Oh, look at me, I get what I want allll the time...plus I'm on TV!!' Another thing: the re-enactments. They're so incredibly fake and..ugh. Seriously, these people cannot act for shit. Plus, most of the time they KNOW what they're doing wrong, but continue to act all innocent and shit just to get on TV. It's either they act like completely ignorant fucks, or they're proud of what/who they are. Proud of what/who they are.......another instance of that is, I don't know what it was, but when he was doing some kind of diet program. There were all these video tapes of fat-asses being all 'I need your program sooo bad!' and, basically showing off as much as they possibly can. It's like, okay, if you wanted to lose the weight honestly, you would do it. That's not an insult against all fat people - hell, I consider myself to be overweight, but I don't whine about it - just the ones who whine like fuckin' bitches but don't do a THING about it. Now, me, I could lose the weight if I wanted and, if I had a reason for it. I have neither want nor reason to do so...thus, I don't.

Mary-Kate Olsen to be treated for eating disorder.
Yuna_Firerose replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
That didn't stop me You'd be amazed how far a strap-on will go in college It's not a live-in college, but a community one. ITT Technical Institute, for anyone who cares. -
Mary-Kate Olsen to be treated for eating disorder.
Yuna_Firerose replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
How is a disease that isn't brought on by doing something questionable "wrong"? At least the girl is attracted to men who actually care for women rather than your fetish for queers that wouldn't touch you no matter how large the strap-on you purchase is. When all else fails, insult the fag-fetish, and then follow it up with a mention of a strap-on being purchased. Wow. So creative. For the record, I have never purchased a strap-on. Nor do I intend to do so anytime soon, as I live with my mom, plus a younger sis. At the moment, I have more important things to contend with. Like, oh I don't know, college perhaps? -
Well, since we're discussing actors/actresses... 142. Almost any character Johnny Depp plays will have a quirk. Whether it's subtle or outrageous, there will always be at least ONE quirk. Hey...I'm a fangirl, and proud of it ^.^ So there.

Mary-Kate Olsen to be treated for eating disorder.
Yuna_Firerose replied to Downhome's topic in Television & Film
Allow me to second that. I could barely stop laughing when I read this. It's just too fuckin' funny! In their movies they're all "Oh, look at us, we're so innocent and pure and sweet and NEVER do anything wrooooong!". Well, I'll bet this brought that image crashing down, doesn't it? Fuckin' bitches needed to be brought down a few pegs. -
Or you have the "my father/mother/aunt twice-removed was killed in such-and-such mission, and I shall brood for 90% of the movie" type of deal. 87. If there is a black person in the movie, then there will be quite a few corny/repetitive black jokes made or, if it's a drama, corny/repetitive insults. Because, ya know, every black person in the movies are abused and live in bad conditions. 88. In every mainstream movie that I've seen that contained a gay character in it, they ALWAYS fit the stereotypes. Either they're outrageously flamboyant and flaming, or they're portrayed as "normal" people...read, dull. Also, they sometimes - not always - go through some kind of torture: beating/insults/whatever.

After watching some vids of the movie - Nightcrawler in particular, I'm definetly looking forward to this game. Jean's telekinesis, Kurt's BAMF!...just, wow. They all look incredible. I'm hoping they get some voice actors from the movie for some of the characters [like, ya know, Kurt. okay, I'm a fangirl of Kurt's. It's not like you can tell......too much]. At the very least, I hope the voice acting is decent. For those interested, there's an in-depth article/interview with the creators in the latest mag of Gamepro about the game. Thankfully, I get the subscription free ^-^

I'm getting Secret Window the day it comes out..just because it was a great film; carried, of course, by Depp. That's not just my opinion, but the opion of several reviews I've read.

What I like is when opening credits provide a bit of back-story...or any type of story at all. For instance, Red Dragon. It tells the story of what happened after Hannibal Lecter was captured, what's going on in Graham's life in between the case and his current life -- or at least what the tabloids portray. And all this is kept up in an obsessive journal by the 'villain', Red Dragon.....whose name escapes me. Most likely, I'll remember much later. Another example of the story-ish credits is Sleepy Hollow. Yet it's one of those credits that only make sense after all the secrets of the movie are revealed. Or maybe it's not the credits I'm thinking of for SH, but the intro. Hmm...it's prolly the intro, as the intros occur whilst Ichabod Crane is en-route to Sleepy Hollow. Still, those credits are cool, too. I loved the foggy, misty way they made Depp's and Ricci's names, along with the movie title; and later, the leave-effect for some of the other names.

Movies worth owning for just one part
Yuna_Firerose replied to Youth N Asia's topic in Television & Film
Before Night Falls - Bon Bon..need I say more? ........Okay, I prolly do, and so I shall. Johnny Depp in drag as Bon Bon. He also doubles as Lt. Victor...and the two roles are just so different. It simply shows how great an actor he is. The rest of the movie is just awful, but the two scenes with him in them are just amazingly wonderful. -
pffft...Donnie Brasco was no Hunter S. Thompson or Ed Wood And yes Yuna Donnie Brasco is good, but please tell me you've seen Ed Wood and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I've seen Ed Wood..it was a movie I waited for quite a while at my local vid place. Mainly because - yes, I'll admit it - I saw that he was a crossdresser in it. I saw this on the Depp episode of 'Inside the Actor's Studio' when I just becoming obsessed. I'm all 'Wait..what?'. So, of course I had to rent it. A bit on the dull side, but that's to be expected. I compare it to the '99 Titus...it's a movie that you have to be in the right mood for to watch all the way through. I totally think he was wonderful in Ed Wood, and Bill Murray's part in it was.....interesting, to say the least. I have not yet seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas....a bit hesitant on that one.

I haven't seen that one yet....any good?

Yes, and we love you for it anyway, Yuna. I'll admit the blond hair was indeed a good look for Depp. I barely recognized him when I first saw him in the commercials. Anyone like to give a summary of what won what? I know MTV's awards mean jack squat, but I'm curious anyway. D'aww. Thankies. *bows* If you wish to know who won/lost, visit mtv.com, and you'll get a link to the Movie Awards site. Uh..not much else went on besides that. Some lame intro with Ms. Lohan where she danced and stuff, other than not, pretty uneventful.

I've only stopped posting because I've been busy finishing up high school. My reward? I start college at ITT Technical Institute tomorrow. Go me. As I'm completely given up wrestling, I only post to movies and such. I still read posts at the forums, just haven't felt any need to comment. Hey, be happy I'm out of the slash*happy phase

The only reason I watched this was, in all honesty, to see Johnny Depp win 'Best Male Award'. Call me a fangirl if you wish but..it's something I'm already totally aware of The psycho-hospital 'intros' between each category were beyond creepy and totally made no sense. In other, sorta-related news, I shall mourn the loss of Depp's blonde hair by buying Secret Window. ....Hey, it makes sense if you read it cross-eyed. Or something like that. 'Spray painted popcorn...?' - Johnny Depp

He's not really overrated, it just took POTC to get them to understand what people (Myself included) have been saying for years... he's an excellent actor. As a totally new Depp fan, I can agree with the second statement. After seeing PotC - which, it should be noted, I never wanted to see, because I knew I'd enjoy it - I became hooked on seeing almost anything Depp has been in, save for a few movies [i have no interest in seeing Blow, Cry Baby, and a few others]. I've bought quite a few DVDs as well - From Hell, Edward Scissorhands, Benny and Joon [my fave movie of his], Sleepy Hollow, PotC, & Once Upon a Time in Mexico. After watching all those, I'm curious as to why I've never really heard of him before. He's just brilliant in each of the movies I own, and so versatile. Anyone that can play Sands and Ichabod Crane so convincingly deserves a few awards, I think.
-
I was born in '86, so I can't wait for this show, as I also remember a lot. Plus, a lot of my fave movies were made during the 90s, and it's always fun to hear their comments on such things. In the 80s, they commented on Beetlejuice, and I know for a fact that they'll be commenting on Edward Scissorhands [*fangirl!squee*]. I can only hope they comment on Benny and Joon, In and Out, The Mummy, etc etc.
-
No replies to this yet? ....Wow. As I'm currently a fangirl of Depp, I doubt I'm qualified to reply. I'd sound like too much of a fangirl.

Yay, someone cared to vote me! w00t. I feel loved.

X-Men Producer Talks About X-Men 3
Yuna_Firerose replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
Agreed. The opening to X2 with Nightcrawler was just amazing. Bamf.Like.Whoah. But, thankfully, they had an character behind all the flash and CG. Which is why the series is so awesome, and why Bryan Singer is such a good director [least so far as this series is concerned]. The CG is used to tell a story, and not just to be all 'hey, look what we can do!'. 'Course, after the NC intro, the team definetly deserves bragging rights. Considering all the other effects they'll have in the movie, I doubt they could afford something like the Hulk. Still...I personally think they have enough characters as it is. You can only cram so much into a two-hour-and-a-half movie, after all.
