Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

I don't see how they could, honestly., since anyone can edit Wikipedia. Just because he turned out to be right on a freaky coincidence, well, still he didn't do anything illegal. -
Man who raped 10 year old girl given 2 years in jail
Yuna_Firerose replied to Atticus Chaos's topic in Current Events
...I am completely gobsmacked. Really, I can't believe anyone would want this quoted/printed for public eyes. Does anyone - not here, obviously, but out in the crazy world - believe this judge's bullshit? My god, because the girl liked to wear spaghetti strap tops and filly undies, she's disturbed, needy, and sexually precocious?! WTF, seriously. Ten bucks says the judge, somewhere in his mind, believe the rapists actually helped their victims in some twisted way. Just... goddamn, I'm beyond words here. -

No knee in the back with the Crossface. http://img.search.com/thumb/2/20/Crossface...x-Crossface.jpg Also, I doubt this move will become so taboo that it'll never be used again. Maybe in North American, fine. But I doubt overseas. There are lots of guys who regularly use the move in Japan, including Jado and Yuji Nagata. Thanks for that -- I was thinking of something entirely different. With that in mind, anyone else think the notion of him using a wrestling move on one or both of his victims sound a bit too sensationalistic? As if pushing the roid rage issue wasn't enough fuel on the fire already. -

So the Crippler Crossface move. Thats the one with the knee on the back of the victim/opponent, and the hands interlocked around the neck...right? I can envision him using that on Nancy. But I can't work around how he could do that to his kid, I mean logically. David was in bed, maybe sleeping before his death. I can't see how he would go from sleeping to being in the crossface, save for Chris challenging him to a wrestling match. -

Its so damn creepy watching Wrestlemania XX, especially during the skit between Eddie and Chris. Having not watched wrestling in a while, I don't see how any fan - new or old - could watch Benoit the same way after all this. Yeah the matches will be enjoyable, I'm sure, but in the back of one's mind... Like, during the skit, when Eddie is hyping up the match he says something like 'This is the night you've been waiting for...spending so much time away from your family...' and I instantly thought 'For them, that's a *good* thing.' I haven't yet seen the match in question, though I know the outcome. That'll be creepy as hell. -

This one doesn't quite add up for me. Namely, the blood on her face. If he shoved her face into the floor - presumably in a rage, thusly, quite hard - something would likely be broken or cut. On that note, the news reports wording on the blood is confusing. How can you have "a little blood" all over your face? That, to me, equals quite a bit more than "a little". -

That was a great news bit. Initially, the first guy speaking sounds like he thinks the whole thing is ridiculous, you know, speaking all condescendingly. I much liked the second guy better. Still a wonderful recap of all the news today. I hate the scenes they edited together, though. As morbid as it sounds, I'm curious about wrestling now. May watch a few shows, if only to see how they handle this. Even looked over the rosters earlier. Completely off-topic, but when the hell did Jeff Hardy return? The last I saw of him, he was fired - or maybe quit, I can't remember - for being too sloppy in the ring. Anytime he did a promo, it was poetic gibberish, and he was constantly covered in glowing paint that looked half-assed put on. -

Not trying to joke, but aren't those injuries consistent with a crippler crossface? That's exactly what I was thinking. Same here, oddly enough. His knee at the small of her back is what came to mind. But, during that move, isn't the front part of the body raised up slightly? Only thing I can think of is she somehow rolled off the office table - or whatever she was on - hence the bruising on her front. -

Now that’s simply being silly. Linking the two together is pure imagination. -

One thing that hasn’t been mentioned in a while: the death of Vince angle. No matter that he shit all over the ten bell salute thing, do you think there will be anything of a tribute show for Benoit? If Vince ends the angle, he’ll likely have to give a reason. How can anyone say something nice about Benoit after this, even if separating the wrestler from the person? -

Bet all the eBayers really look stupid, as if they didn’t already, what with all the ‘tribute’ merchandise for sale. -

I just learned about this thing this morning, a link provided by mom about the deaths, and have been keeping up with this thread ever since. Geezus. Not two days ago I was in the WWE folder about the McMahon thing. I haven’t watched WWE programming in… three years? Maybe four. The fact that he tied her up prior to the death, aside from being some guro fantasy come to life, is just so fucked up beyond words. I’m confused about the schedule of events. He drove home from the show the night he killed his wife, or a few days before? The ropes pretty much say the murder wasn’t in a fit of rage. Pretty much negates Nancy killing the son first, as well. The fact that he could watch the PPV with his son with his wife’s corpse upstairs or down the hall sickens me beyond words. I’d love to know what prompted him to do all this to begin with. Theories anyone? It wasn’t a snap decision, like an argument gone bad. He planned it out. Had to have. You don’t tie your wife up and suddenly decide to kill her, just like that. -

I blame Disney. But, irregardless, the judge is a fuckin moron. -
Boyfriend of missing pregnant woman held for murder
Yuna_Firerose replied to milliondollarchamp's topic in Current Events
This one hit so close to home. Literally. Not even half a block from my house, there was a shitload of people searching the fields for clues. Still, I'm not disturbed by it. It's nothing new. I would be interested though if the boyfriend did do it -- sounds so much like a Lifetime movie. -
So, the first Manhunt... worth a rental, or a download? All this crap about the second has me a little curious about the first. Brian Cox as the sadistic director certainly helps.

That post of Roth's is well... does he seem a bit egotistical to anyone else? Maybe not quite the word, but the general vibe of that post is that the entire R-rated horror film genre depends on his film. Especially laughable is "Bring a non-horror fan - try to convert them." Uhm, yeah. Like Hostel 2 is the film to 'convert' a non-horror fan. The first, yes, depending how squeamish the friend is. The sequel would've been a lot better - character-wise - had it focused more on the businessmen instead of the victims.

Haven't seen it yet, but I am hoping to soon. As in, actually at the theater and not a lame cam version. Don't mind the spoilers, though; plot doesn't seem important with the FF movies so much as characters. Thusly,

If I had to put a top three list, it'd be 1. Hannibal Rising 2. Blades of Glory 3. Number 23 I haven't seen Hot Fuzz all the way through yet; rather surprised that it's mentioned just about every post. It's really that great? How does it stack up against Shaun of the Dead?
-
Damn, my mind totally blanks on this one. Hard to remember what movies I viewed from this year. Hm. I'd have to go with Hannibal Rising.

Cash in while he still can, eh? Don't blame him, though. -
Agree with this sentiment whole-heartedly. Nothing compares to climbing that huge-as-hell tower in the final level. I'm currently on Warrior Within which isn't *quite* as good as the first, but has some improvements. Andrew, what sayeth thee about the third PoP, the Two Thrones? Back on topic. Bought this one recently, though I'm still on Legend. Love 'em both. I never played the original TRs (heck, I think I was still on SNES back then -- didn't upgrade to PS1 till just about when PS2 came out) so I've no comparison beyond the lovely and informative documentary on the PC version's bonus dvd. (Also bought. And when I say 'bought' I of course mean 'downloaded'). Gave TR:L a try because I loved PoP so much, and wanted more of the exploring-vast-areas-whilst-solving-environmental-puzzles type of game. Doesn't disappoint. Visuals on both are absolutely breathtaking. The gunplay aspects - which are a bit more enhanced in Anniversary, from the starting level, it seems - is certainly the weakest aspect.

I was trying not to use 'the gay' to describe Paxton/Josh but... okay, yes, I think they were awesome together. Even as a genuine, no-benefits friendship. As for 'the lez', I'm indifferent. More often than not in cinema, its used as a tease/titillation thing than actual, y'know, character development. I'll download it any ol' way, give it a look-see. More curious about the torturers and the workings of that business than any flash of boobies. Edit: Holy shit, Roger Bart is in this?!? Okay, only knowing him from The Producers, I definetly gotta see this.
-
I go back and fourth on if I want to see this one or not. Absolutely loved the first, gore notwithstanding. Oddly enough, I just loved the characters and the whole scenario of a business centered around buying torture, a lovely contrast to the horny guys wanting to buy sex and becoming the whores themselves. (Plus, Paxton and Josh -- just loved their friendship.) From the trailers of Hostel 2, it looks like Roth just amped up the sexuality with female protagonists, and the gore/torture-porn, as the genre has been called. So... against the first Hostel, how does the sequel compare?

So Farrelly Brothers got back together
Yuna_Firerose replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in Television & Film
As much as I love Stiller, the movie doesn't seem all that thrilling, judging by the trailer. In fact, it seems a lot like 'Norbit' (which I haven't seen by the way, only the horrid trailers). Married guy falls for another girl, married girl turns out to be all bitchy-mean-weird-jealous.
