Jameer's been traded to the Magic. Ugh. just one more slot and he woulda been detroit's
-
goddammit! JUST ONE MORE SLOT!!! If denver had also passed on Nelson, the buzz going around here was that the Jazz would have picked him up and traded him to the Pistons for Det's 2nd round pick (being that Utah's already gotten 2 players in the draft)!!! [Dumars is a fan of jameer nelson]

Aroujo looks kinda good to me. Even taking in his deficiencies (as the announcers seem to think) he seems like a good guy to push his way through throngs of players and get easy shots, or find open people.
-
Wow. that's... a lot for Shaq. Granted he is Shaq, but virtually any of these leaves Dallas with a really thinned out team.

Cassady did not design Wolverine's new costume. That costume was created by "committee" (by the editors I presume)

BREAK OUT THE SENTINELS!!!!! WE'RE ALL DOOMED! *runs and jumps out of a ten story window* -
Did Flair write it himself, or did he use a ghost writer?

I found that fairly interesting and seems to match some reaction coming out of cannes taht supposedly the movie features less obnoxious Moore-ishness and more reliance on the power of the images shown. If so that would be a good thing. Anyways, all things considered, that has to be considered close to a positive review coming from foxnews. The story about the mother and her kids to iraq for opportunities sounds pretty interesting (darkly), there could be a good documentary waiting to break out on that subject.

I didn't stay for the rally (mostly because it was impossible to get close) but I was there for the parade. It was really insane but in a good way. I got some good video footage actually, i was thinking of getting some more raw footage of like the players and press conferences and making it into a little victory celebration documentary.

alright, someone suggest something called 'streambox VCR' and that worked after a bit of tweaking. in other words, gots what I needs. Feel free to close this thread down.

I want to download this streaming wmv file (windows video 9) to my hard Drive, but it won't let me do a Save As. It's one of those mms:// addresses... anybody know a program I can use to save this file to my hard drive? I tried ASFrecorder but it wouldn't do it. Here's one of the files, in case anybody wants to test it out and can figure out something mms://wm.gannett.speedera.net/wm.gannett/wzzm/wallace.wmv ANybody know a good program that will do it? People told me ASFRecorder should do it but it did not work.

The Unprotected List for the NBA Expansion Draft
bobobrazil1984 replied to Kurt Angle Mark's topic in Sports
^ i heard the number rough out to about 29 mil, but 30 is a nice round estimate. You can't blow over half your money on Allan Houston. -
^ there wasn't any footage of it. The only footage they had starts before the poking, with Malone a bit away (and two people between them)... so either the guy spit on Malone... who walked away and after a little while came back and did the poking, or there was no spit. or maybe... there was a second spitter!!!!!!

The Unprotected List for the NBA Expansion Draft

^ aren't hunter and james also free agents? *confused* ANyways, around here (Detroit) i think its generally thought taht Elden Campbell and/or Trelaine Fawlkes (who wasn't on the playoff roster) will be unprotected. -
Usually the MTV awards have some fun moments (the Gollum swearing up a storm being my favorite in recent memory), but this show was so dreadfully dull I couldn't watch it all.

Honestly, it was the first thing I noticed when I saw the trailer to Manchurian Candidate. The resemblence/features are pretty dead on. Since I'm neither a fan nor a hater of Hillary, I dont care too much but it was an interesting curiosity. I'll see it though. Denzel kicks ass.

LA's "defense" (and I use that word in quotes because of the defense its compared to) can't stop Detroit, so they foul. On one end of the floor, they shoot jump shot after jump shot, and on the other end, they can't play great D and they foul. Gee I wonder why they aren't getting the lion's share of the calls? Meanwhile, LB has drilled into the Pistons head (and this is long before the LA series, living near Detroit I heard this over and over again in the NJ and INdy series), "keep your man in front of you" "keep your man in front of you". The pistons are HUSTLING instead of just playing lazy defense and reaching in when they feel like it (resulting in all these calls on LA). If you dont believe me, grab a tape, and watch Tayshaun's Prince's FEET. Just his feet. Watch the way he moves to stay with or ahead of Kobe. When Kobe or soembody breaks away from a defender, watch the way OTHER FOUR players almost simeotaneosly (sp?) instantly ROTATE around so that nobody's left open. The Pistons D is like the Borg, they think with one hive collective mind! (ok not really but at times it seems like it) This whole foul complaining seems to be done with a blindness of what the PLAYERS ARE ACTUALLY DOING IN THE GAME. I wouldn't put it past LA to win a game or two and make a run for the title so I warn pepole not to get too overconfident, but the reason why I think this is different than S.A. is just the lakers' attitude. there seems to be a complete denial of what their problems actually are in this series. "it's the fouls." "we just gotta execute better." Usually the seeds for a comeback are sown when you HONESTLY identify what your problems are and work to correct those. and for the love of god why didn't Phil grab Kobe during a late time out and yell "GET THE BALL TO SHAQ!"???

The Unprotected List for the NBA Expansion Draft

Can anyone tell me how much money Charlotte will have to work with? What the official maximum to spend (salary cap) is in the NBA? Want to do one of those "who I would pick" deals but want to know how much $$$ i'd have to work with. -
you'll also notice Shaq was one of the few guys not having a meltdown with the theatrics and stuff when LA was getting called for their dumb fouls (which they did commit). he seemed to be the only major Lakers guy keeping his poise, and playing well... and he was barely getting the ball. Phil should have made it a priority to have almost every play (in those final few minutes) be strategized ways to get the ball to Shaq. I haven't watched that much LA this season so I dont know all that much about the WAY Phil coaches really, but I know if say Larry Brown wants Rasheed to get the next two or three touches, he'll drill it into Chauncy's head or something, and next play, they will try to get it in to Sheed (and if they can't, chauncy'll just toss up a three ). ANd if Kobe's reluctant to give the ball up to Shaq, Phil needs to grow a backbone and scream and ORDER him to. Phil's the coach. Maybe I just dont understand the Lakers system and have been watching too much of LB and the Pistons *shrugs* I'm glad to see Rasheed finally be able to play some signficiant minutes in the 1st half and not have to sit down because of fouls. The Medvendenko episode was hilarious, but i thought it was 'Sheed overreacting. He probably just did so to fire himself up, but he after that he went off. 26 points. We'll need another game like that from him on Tuesday

The reason all these Laker fans cant seem to comprehend tough defense not equal fouls is because of their vaunted Western Conference that they lvoe and adore and have crowed about for the past few years. A conference in which nobody other than San Antonion plays great D. Also I just dont get where someone said "it's impossible to play Shaq one on one and not get more fouls" ...ok wtf? One of the major reasons to go 1 on 1 is to AVOID fouling him. Before the series began, I kept hearing about how Larry Brown tried to dril into the Pistons head to not foul Shaq when he goes tot eh hoop. However, if you want to cry conspiracy about something (rolls eyes), dont do so with the officiating, but instead do so with the pre-game hype. Now I understand LA were favorites, hey I thought LA would win in a hard fought 6-7 game series (the latter still being possible), but there is no way in hell Detroit should have been SEVEN TO ONE UNDERDOGS. Not if you've actaully been watching them. Maybe if you just checked some box scores of the INDY series (and only the INdy Series) and ignored everything else and were just ignorant, maybe you thought it was gonna be a four game sweep route. SEVEN TO ONE? give me a friggin break. So if there's a conspiracy about anything, you might want to point at the NBA and the media maybe deliberatly downplaying Detroit's chances to have a bigger underdog-takes-the-fight-to-the-lakers story. the odds should have been 2-1 or maybe 3-1 in favor of LA, and no worse than that. By the way it was practically obscene that LA wasn't feeding Shaq more in that final 6 minutes. He's the only guy the Pistons D cannot shut down (or slow down in kobe's case). Again too many jumpers and silly plays. LA should be trying to get Shaq close to the 45-50 range.

Its like Magic said, LA just came in with an attitude that disrespected the Pistons. Trust me guys its GOOD if they are making excuses and such. That kind of signals thre is a bit of denial, which is GOOD for Detroit in Game 5. If they were totally accepting of Detroit's dominance and there was no talk about fouls form that.... that would indicate that they might be strategizing for G5 with an objective mind... they can't start to overcome Detroit until they accept what's in front of them, then they can strategize effectively. Detroit did this, they accepted hwo good Shaq + Kobe were and then objectively strategized to their weaknesses (well Kobe's at least). Laker-haters should be happy, not complaining, if LA is ducking with excuses and such.

Crapola to that LA Times article. I think if Phil takes their advice it could bump up the LA team (Malone and Payton have been the obvious weak links in this series for LA). I just don't want Detroit to be caught by surprise and lose... NO PHIL! it's just execution! You don't NEED to make any major adjustments! YOU DONT NEED IT!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!
