One other thing... I see people constantly say "look at those horrible quarters detroit had in the indiana series" as some kind of evidence that the Pistons can never score 75+ or something, or are this horrible offensive team, while completely ignoring the regular season (hmm, look up their scoring average and ranking*) and the other playoff series'. Indiana and Detroit were defensive grinding teams, Det's core was set up by Indy's coach, and used to its defensive potential by LB. These are mirror images playing each other, leading to low scoring game (just like how say a Dallas/Sacramento game is expected to be a high scoring game, b/c they are two similar offense oriented teams). Yes there was some bad bball there, occasionally atrocious, but the Indiana series was the exception, and not the RULE for the Pistons. If you think it is the rule, you haven't been paying attention to Detroit at all, until recently. *that would be 90.1 ppg, which isn't that bad at all in today's nba game Either way, there won't be any sweeps. This is a 6 game series in my estimation. (Detroits first win will either be Game 1, simply because the Lakers just sort of underestimate them and play lazily (Philly?), or Game 3 (more likely) after being down 2-0 and getting fired up by coming back home.)

I thought this was kind of a fun little, in-hindsight, tidbit.

The first half was the ugliest first half EVER! But that second half (the fourth quarter especially) was AWESOME! NAIL BITER! And let me just take this opportunity to point at Ron Artest and laugh like a motherfucker. First a cheap shot to Rip (couldn't think of another way to stop him??) , then jacking up a 3 pointer from WAAAY BACK there with 13 seconds left??? AHAHAAHAHAHAH!!! I'm so glad that it was him that caused the loss! AHAHAHA! And JUST to make things interesting in this NBA thread... (hey every story needs a villian).... Well, Indy/Det, that was kind of an ugly game for the first half, but man Detroit's defense came ALIVE in the 2nd half (particularly in the 4th). Stops, blocked shots, blocked shots, and a few more blocked shots. NINETEEN BLOCKED SHOTS by Detroit. Tayshaun with an INCREDIBLE hustle play to SAVE THE GAME, I mean look at how far ahead Reggie was, Tayshaun BOUNDED across the court and dived ten rows into the crowd! I'd been waiting all series for that Defense and finally it showed up! Bring it back to the Palace!!!

halfway through the season for us. In production, i think they were in their last four episodes or something.

One of the greatest things about Watchmen was the way he used the comic medium to tell the story. I remember reading some analyses of Watchmen and was astounded at the complexity of some of it, the symettry of panels, as I understand it there is one issue where if you put the first page and last page of the issue next to each other,a dn read inwards, you would notice all the panels showing the same places and symmetry and all that. It really is the Citizen Kane of comics, in the sense that while it's a good story, its not the STORY that makes it so revolutionary in its particular medium and so complex.

one of the reasons I dont think Rumsfeld should resign over this specificially is that if he stays on, the limelight will be focused straight on him, and he wouldn't dare any political bs or stonewalling. YOu can bet that Rumsfeld will throw the book and then some at these "soldiers" to save his own hide (as most politicians on either side would do), and give the visual of him/them taking decisive action here. At least I'd hope so. Having those sickos (especially considering the latest report of them taking videos of people having sex with boys) punished is far more important than having Rumsfeld himself punished.

^ the 3rd Quarter comeback was GLORIOUS! Big Ben just took over, hustling, blocks, even nailed like 3 key jumpers in a row. the others did good too in that stretch Once you shut down NJ's fast break, they haven't got all that much else. At least not when playing against a good defensive team like Det.
