Another altercation between wrestlers takes place
bobobrazil1984 replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Tell me about it. I haven't bothered watching the last four shows (2 raw and 2 SD), but the news still entertains the fuck out of me -
Anyone interested in tossing in for the PPV?
bobobrazil1984 replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I might be interested... but depends on how much I'd have to pitch in...? -
Picked this link up off of Drudge. Get ready to start sniping folks... http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=20252 Not sure what to think. It's true that Stern's show has had much worse on the air for years, and the dumping happened just days after he made a very vocal anti-Bush turn (Stern was a supporter of the iraq war and bush in the past). But otoh the stupid Janet controversy has also been sending waves of stupid decisions across the media...

Matt Hardy's also been jobbed out for the past month or two. How exactly are they going to suddenly move Matt over and put him an upper-card slot? Not saying Christian can make the jump up and be completely legit or anything, but considering how entertaining his heel schtick right now in the Jericho angle is, I could see him being a temporary M.E. heel opponent for Smackdown. Sadly, if they hadn't spent all this time turning Jericho into a lukewarm face... they could have just moved Jericho over, and he would have been a great M.E. heel.

Push Cena up hard, and move a heel (not HHH), over to Smackdown. I say Christian. The Christian/Cena and Christian/Eddie promos could be gold. Oh wait, Christian isn't big.

Well from the latest articles, it sounds like all of this, the things he's upset about, etc etc, all narrow down to the simple fact that this business isn't for him. he cant handle the travel schedule (I dont mean that in a derogatory, wrestling's travel schedule is insanely hard. For all the wrestlers that do it, there ten times the wannabe wrestlers who cant do it. I sure as fuck couldn't do it). He never really put in the time on the road and never got used to it. He came straight from college to pro wrestling and BANG got a main event push. It's probably good for him that he got out now.

If he wants to use 9/11 in his ads, fine, at least stop stonewalling the investigation commission and answer some damn questions. It's amazing to me that someone can use 9/11 in political ads yet refuse to fully co-operate in an investigation of the very same 9/11.

Gary Oldman!!!~~~ Awesome! Another reason it's a good choice (besides the fact that Gary Oldman kicks ass) is that he's commented he doesn't want to do villian roles. Now that he's got a high profile non-villian role, something tells me he's gonna be bringing his A-game to the table.

Howard Stern says anti-Bush comments...
bobobrazil1984 replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
I understand what you are saying Slapnuts, and agree with much of it. If you just let anybody say whatever the hell they want on the airwaves, we would get all kinds of hateful crap... some regulation is needed. However, all I'm saying is if you look at the way they are gonig after Stern AND NOT OTHERS (for example, callers on Ryan Seacrest's show, which was jsut picked up by clear channel, were dropping the S word and F-Bomb, that's just one example, there are more), coupled with the fact they are going as far back as THREE YEARS (allegedly) to find stuff to fine Stern over... i mean, yeah Stern says raunchy stuff (by the way the caller who said the N-word was subsequently mocked and hung up on quickly) I'm going to use an analogy here, putting aside the fact that they can't regulate cable yet... what if the FCC were to suddenly start handing out fines to say WWE, for the Vince/Trish 'bark like a dog' segment TODAY... as well as tons of other bad stuff over the past three years, culminating in this week... and handed them all at once, tomorrow, literally accumulating them and TNN had to pay them all quickly just to keep their license, to the extent where having RAW air was actually a major financial liability... now all of a sudden TNN has to get rid of RAW just so they dont lose a whole crapload of money... if that happened, and the FCC promptly ignored tons of other shows doing stuff like that... you wouldn't be able to deny that there was some specific reason and that they were specifically (and in my mind unfairly, despite the fact that Vince puts on some crappy and ranunchy stuff) trying to get RAW off of TNN. It's racketeering. Something is up here and it smells like shit. It's not about FINES... It's about a concentrated effect to get it yanked off of TV/radio for good...... I get the responsibility that something like the FCC has to regulate crap, but in this case, it's bullshit. -
Howard Stern says anti-Bush comments...
bobobrazil1984 replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story2&cid...00148&printer=1 "NEW YORK -- Amid a widening and increasingly politicized campaign to clean up the nation's airwaves, regulators are proposing fines against many of the nation's major radio companies for carrying well-known "shock jocks," Federal Communications Commission (news - web sites) officials told The Wall Street Journal. About a dozen cases are being finalized, these officials said, and one target is Howard Stern, one of the nation's most popular and controversial radio hosts. The FCC (news - web sites) is deciding on penalties against his employer, Viacom Inc. (NYSE:VIA - News)'s Infinity Broadcasting. Also facing further scrutiny are Emmis Communications Inc. and Clear Channel Communications Inc. (NYSE:CCU - News) , the nation's largest radio owner, which last week took Mr. Stern's show off six of its radio stations and fired a controversial -- and oft-fined -- Tampa, Fla., radio host, Todd Clem, known as "Bubba the Love Sponge." Howard Stern says anti-Bush comments...
bobobrazil1984 replied to bobobrazil1984's topic in Current Events
I'm reading the recaps of Stern's show from marksfriggin.com and he seems legit scared that he's gonna be off the air completely in like 2 weeks because of the fines. Despite personal opinions on Howard (mine are not very high), what's happening here is bullshit. I'm not saying its because of anti-Bush comments, it may just as well be simply his raunchy behavior and how it offends the big companies' sense of morality... but whatever is going on is bullshit. whats darkly funny about it is that Stern obviously isn't politically savvy... he just sorta goes off on whoever he thinks is acting like a douche (as he's always done) without really thinking... only this time the people he's going after happen to be immensely powerful, i mean he's going on about Bush, congresspeople, delving into the religious sect of the right, I mean wow... hell you dont hear some of this stuff from liberals. http://www.marksfriggin.com/news.htm has the recap of today's show. he spent like an hour begging people to vote again Bush, going off of the religious right, and especially the FCC, accusing them of basically racketeering, and on and on. The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
bobobrazil1984 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
I'm officially surprised (again). They took the show in the one direction I didn't expect. I figured it was either a) They kill Illyria and Fred is dead and gone and that's it or b) semi-reset ending and Fred is restored.the idea of Illyria (in Fred's body) becoming a part of the cast (which it looks like from the ending) didn't even occur to me. Damn I'm gonna miss this show. The last month has been producing episodes that imo will go down as true Buffyverse classics... You're Welcome, Smile Time, Hole in the World, and now Shells. Wes was just on a complete tear wasnt he? I mean holy hell... -
The One and Only Angel Season 5 Thread
bobobrazil1984 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Brandon Truitt
If Buffy appears I think it should be like... the second to last episode. They can resolve the whole Buffy/Spike/Angel mess, have their little emotional moments and all... but let the last episode be about the Angel Investigations crew (and hopefully them burning wolfram and hart to the ground) PS - Julie Benz is the hottest. Thank you. carry on. -
Because of Jericho / Christian, I was wondering
bobobrazil1984 replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in Television & Film
like the others said, there's a ton... but certain elements of the storyline were lifted straight out of "She's All That" (and likely a dozen others). Christian's character in particular is very much like that putz guy in She's All That (he was the same guy in Fast and the Furious). -
thanks ravishingrickrudo. vivisectvi, I used Adobe Premiere to edit it. All the clips are from Serenity P1.
-
yep, such as the editing award and possibly best song. It deserved the rest.
-
Not the prequel trilogy. *shakes head in a nono fashion*
-
Well... 3 and a half hours. How does that compare to lengths of previous shows?
-
damn straight!
-
Yes, and they made the RIGHT choice!!! (though I kinda wish LiT had won it, i'm not too dissapointed) *laughs at those haters whose hatred reduced them to making fat jokes about Peter Jackson*
-
ROTK!!!!!
-
Eh. oh well, good for him. Just no political statements please.
-
who would blow a fuse for Depp winning? I'd celebrate, he was hilarious in that movie... but it didn't seem like something Oscar would award.
-
yeah. it seems more likely that Depp and Murray would cancel each other out, for more "lighter" performance votes. (but i still want Bill to win)
