Who won the match though?? That tells the true story.

Lots of rumors have been floating around reguarding Jericho slowly but surely worming his way into Vince's good graces and gaining a sense of real power backstage. And with a growing sense of discontent in the Raw locker room and HHH being politically vulnerable do to Golberg and his own wedding (mainly the issue of whether or not HHH will take a hiatus when he gets married for his honeymoon and such), it has been speculated that Jericho could conceivably go head to head with HHH and castrate the Game if he plays his cards right.... *rolls eyes* All of these rumors sprang from a single statement in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter: "Jericho has been aggressive in pushing his ideas for the HiLIte Reel, and so far WWE/writers have been receptive" (which i read, occasionaly the WON is released on the wrestling binaries newsgroup) From there, 411wrestling reposted the story, rewriting it to say something about his "growing influence" backstage. Bunk. As much as I wish it were true... it's bunk.

Jericho HighLite Reel - Guest - Booker T They insult each other, talk about how the Intercontinental title has a storied past, perhaps even a video package, when Christian's music hits. Booker T gets ready for what looks like a 2 on 1 attack from Christian and Jericho... except Christian's face appears on the Jeritron (which is in the ring if I remember the setup) and he cuts a funny promo on Booker from there. La Resistance v. Dudley Boyz Two minutse into the match, Goldberg comes out and destroys all four of them. (Hey, I'm no Goldberg fan, but WWE's booking of him has been idiotic. I never would have signed him but since he's there, he should be booked as a monster, since thats the only fucking thing he's good at). Al Snow v Randy Orton 6-7 minute match, let them build a solid match without relying on overbooking. At one point Flair tries to interfere and Maven takes Flair out of the game (thats it no more runins). Orton wins clean -Ric Flair is absolutely livid and demands Maven in the ring, he wants to teach this young kid a lesson about messing with the greats. Ric Flair v Maven Flair does his thing to make Maven look like a million bucks. It goes back and forth until Orton and HHH interfere and it appears Flair has the match won, until HBK comes in and superkicks Flair out of the ring. Afterwards, he poses with Maven. Bischoff comes out to the ring with Test, proclaiming how proud he is of what Test did to Mae Young last week. Test said he should have done that to Stacy, which of course brings out Steiner. he gets in Test's face, but Bischoff stops them. Finally Austin comes to the entranceway, and does his schtick then says he wasn't proud of what Test did, but before he can make any kind of decision, Lance Storm WALLOPS Austin from behind with a chair, leaving him lying on the ramp. he nails the knee repeatedly and grabs a microphone. LANCE: "What were you saying Austin? Sorry Steve, but I fell asleep listening to you. it was so BOOORRING!" WHAM another chair shot LANCE: "WHAT AUSTIN? WHAT WHAT? WHAT?" WHAM LANCE: "BOOOORING" WHAM (and so on). When Steiner goes to help, Test attacks him from behind. Lance turns his attention to Steiner and they beat the crap out of him. Bischoff laughs at Austin and does the "i'm innocent" hands in the air type thing laughing, while Test and Lance Storm hug each other (an evil hug of course). Rodney mack, Nowinsky, and Teddy Long talk about how unstoppable a team they are, blah blah haterizing blah blah, whatever, until Tommy Dreamer comes through the crowd with a singapore can and cleans house (hey it is MSG after all). Mack and Long escape but Nowinsky is left there and Dreamer does some wacky cane/trashcan stunt that will make everybody go "oooh." HHH v Kane. Kane comes out to the ring (HHH is already there), and halfway down the aisle, RVD runs out with a mic. He says that Kane should destroy HHH, but instead Evolution and Bischoff are playing a mind game with him. This time, it's time to play fire with fire. Kane is hesitant about something but RVD urges him to do it... so right then, before the match, kane takes off his mask. The makeup team should have invested $$$ to give him some credible ugly looking scars in his upper face (they should look real, and if they dont have a backup booking plan ready). so he shows everyone his face, shocking everybody, then he puts the mask back on. RVD says he now has no reason to fear, no reason to worry, no more pressure, no nothing. he should only have one thing on his mind... and he does. he goes out, lays a grade A beating on HHH (in what should be a hot crowd) and wins the title. JR: There's yer answer HHH! Kane is not a member of Evolution, he is the evolution! Lawler: But Kane turned them down! They're like the mob they'll never let you turn them down, you can bet next week Evolution will bring their new fourth member" or whatever... anyways, that was more on the fly, i didnt put too much thought into it. How is it?

So Russo... head booker and on air talent for TNA (head booker being the more important to this situation)... was being PAID by 1w to criticize WWE... 1w owner who has a financial stake in TNA and is involved in TNA operations... Oh no, NO conflict of interest there at all!

That sucks... in remembrance, let me just say... Kumiteee... Kumitteee... Kumite..... err whoops wrong martial arts tournament movie. -
Wait till Season 2, that really kicks ass. S3 is good also but I feel its a bit overrated, probably in comparison to Buffy's less than stellar S6 which aired at the same time.
-
thats actually a really fun idea for the Rumble, so of course WWE will make sure not to do it.

with this writing staff? Not a chance in hell.

Fine. go ahead and contribute and support the shitty main event scene.

Wow... I'm guessing the reason has to do with his reluctance to focus on the younger players. Supposedly he had to be pushed into giving Teyshaun Prince and Okur real time in the playoffs. Something else tells me that their upcoming draft pick of Darko Millicic (18 year old) has something to do with this also, perhaps massivly differing opinions between him and Dumars regarding that and waht his role is... anyways my gut tells me it has to do with the whole young/rookies situation. Still.. i'm not so sure about this move. Dumars hasn't let us (detroit) down yet, so we'll see how this plays out. EDIT: the more I think about it and think about some of the news stories and such I'd heard over the past year... the more certain I am that the reason was a differing of philosophies on how to use their young rookies. All season long there have been rumblings taht Dumars wants to focus the team on the new players coming in, while Carlisle's ideology clashes in terms of the rookies (did you see how little he played Prince during the season? and indeed he DID have to be pushed into playing them by the players as well as the 3-1 deficit in round 1), i mean just look at his odd devotion to keep the focus on Cliff Robinson. Basically it comes down to Dumars = wanting more time and focus on the younger developing stars of the team than Carlisle did. And the fact their next big star (at least who they hope will be) is going to be an 18 year old kid... I'm sure you can see where the clash of ideologies came in. I'll bet money this has to do with Carlisle not wanting to focus on Millicic (and the other rookies) as much as Dumars wants.

You kick bloody arse!

Ouch my eyes hurt. did you guys see that big bright light? It was like a big... bang... of some kind. Strangely enough, I don't remember anything from before then...
-
They NEED a big man center-type alongside Wallace... but one who can actually SCORE> They got the defense down, they need the big man offense. Darko is the OBVIOUS choice for THEM. I know Carmello is great, but looking at Detroit's position I just don't get why you all are saying they're obviously gonna take Carmello. If this was some team taht didnt make the playoffs, i'd agree, pick up Carmello Anthony. For Detroit, take Darko.
-
I actually think Detroit will pass up Carmello and pick Darko Melo-howeveryouspellit... they are weak in the center offensive position. A good big man in the center is the one hole they need to fill to be truly great. EDIT No sooner do I post this, the guy on ABC is saying Detroit tested or played with him today (or whatever) and were very impressed and were gonna take him...
-
...but he still gave him a main event push. Fuck you Vince McMahon.

I think this proves last week's rating was some bizarre abberation since it's settled back down into its usual territory. Probably a show that bout five Nielson viewers got cancelled or something and caused them to go to RAW

Isn't it amazing how the low parts of the "cycle" happen when the product sucks? The one and only exception imo being mid 97 when TV was pretty good. But even that was soley b/c of Bret and Austin and not the product itself. What an amazing coincidence!

if the Pistons knock out the Nets, then that will be all the personality they need in my eyes. The Venus Star-Trap. Tracy McGrady... Allen Iverson... Jason Kidd. That's IF. My predictions: Pistons over Nets in 6 Spurs over Mavericks (over Sacramento) in 5 Spurs over Pistons in 6 or 7.
