Ii was reading Kreski's wikipedia entry, and it made reference to how he used to storyboard storylines to try and keep continuity, and that it was something that people in the WWF used to mock him for. What an idiot, trying to keep storylines semi-consistant! apparently he died of cancer? Bad break there.

I dont see why everyone's so hostile to the thought that Cena disappearing may have hit the ratings. He has, as I understand, been the champion for what, a full year now? For him to just disappear b/c of injury, and not lose the title, and have it be ping-ponged back and forht between hhh and orton... I can certainly see that turning off some people. Face of the company for a year.

The real problem is that both have been out for a fair amount of time and only tiny amount of people have jumped on EITHER bandwagon. This isn't like VHS/Beta where the world needed one format to win... there were no mass market home video formats back then. Now we have DVD, the last stragglers of VHS, not to mention all manner of digital video. HD-DVD/BR are luxuries in a luxury industry. There isn't even some industry standard time switch like the eventual air-switch-to-digital on TV. FIRST you need more people to get HDTVs before even thinking about BR/HDDVD - which is a whole big switchover in of itself The adoption is happening too slowly for either to be a real winner in the near future imo. At this rate it'll be 2009 or 2010.

can anything like this happen with the iPod Touch? I'd imagine there's no phone service unlocking going on, so can you install all that 3rd party stuff and not get bricked? It's all a little technical and making my head hurt reading about it.

Its standard operating procedure, the purpose of verdicts is meant as a future deterrent - so the amount of damages is scaled directly to the wealth of the defendant (ie it's meant to be enough to "hurt"). Otherwise why even have a verdict? If the verdict was 1 million, Dolan would probably secretly laugh and nothing would change. If it was a hot dog vendor the verdict would probably be in the thousands of dollars. then you add in the fact that the verdict involves wrongful termination of a job, so the salaries of that job become relevant. I read it was a 275k per year job, extrapolate that to an X number of years, then add in promotions and higher positions that would logically have come down that path, and the salaries involved there. Put together with the wealth of the defendent its not hard to see where they came up with the 11 million. Essentially, "does the defendant deserve to lose that much" ends up taking precedence over "does the accuser deserve to get that much". Not saying that's right, but lets say for the sake of argument, that everything about the environment made by the accuser was true, I think the company deserves to take a hit for it, even if the defendant doesnt deserve that money. on a semi-related note I heard something really funny about Isiah's deposition which cracked me up and may have cost him the case right there, wanna research it a bit before commenting though.

From what i'm reading on some Knicks boards, it seems like Dolan f'ed up for the timing/way he fired her? that seems to be the difference maker. Isiah himself doesn't have to pay punitive damanges, so it appears the verdict is more aimed at the way the organization handled the complaint.

most definately. you may want to make sure its not something you can use (my computer came preloaded with Roxio for instance, but honestly its a good enough program to burn data onto CDs so I kept it), but yes generally all the manufacterer stuff (Acer, HP, etc) is bloatware. Most important things you need are built into Windows already. also be careful about driver software - for instance, a touchpad on a laptop, you dont want to accidently delete the drivers for that.

my impression was that all the 'underappreciated' stuff always comes down to the Suns being thought of as Steve Nash's team, and Nash winning/nominated for MVP awards. He basically wants to be the guy in the Top 3 or Top 5 of MVP balloting when the Suns have a great record.

For the record, there were some prelim talks between Phoenix and Detroit about this, according to Dumars on some radio show, but Phoenix asked for 2 starters (Sheed, and I believe Tay Prince), which Dumars balked at.

Mine is Firefox - it feels light and pages load up faster. Though a lot of that is due to Adblock Plus extension. I'd use the new IE which is not bad more if it had Adblock plus on it.
