so now there's a real possibility Chris Benoit could be a murderer. Wow.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

between the spitting out blood stories and the fact that there no gunshots or stab wounds, I wonder if poison somehow entered into this.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released

I just read the most recent articles... police are ruling it a murder-suicide!? WTF!? Nancy killed Benoit and the kid, and then herself??? Benoit killed Nancy and the kid, and then himself?!?? THE KID killed Benoit and Nancy??? ok maybe not that one. But this is really weird and fucked up. And what about the stories of him leaving the show because his wife and kids were spitting out blood? how did that enter into it??? This is seriously fucked up.

my first impression based on all the stories, referring specifically to the "family emergency" and "wife and kid spitting out blood" stories, was that maybe it was a euthenasia type thing. but who knows at this point.

    The Sopranos

i dont give a crap what Chase suddenly now "states". He had his chance to "state" what happens in the actual fuckin' show. Tony got whacked. He didn't even see it coming. The guy came out of the bathroom godfather style. The blackout was his POV - it's a logical ending for Tony, and it actually makes the blackout and the editing/cutting make perfect sense in a dramatic sense and not just be some lame "make your own ending" gimmick, thats really the only way i can stomach it. As far as i'm concerned, he got whacked. from that POV it's a pretty cool ending. btw i read somewhere that they re-aired "Sopranos Home Movies" the week before And the week after, as well as excerpting the infamous Bobby "when it happens, you don't even see it coming" quote in "Blue Comet". certainly seems like somebody wanted to make sure everybody saw that scene.

    The Sopranos

I finally got around to seeing the last episode. I felt like I got slapped in the face for following this show. While the ending was sort of intriguing in a wtf way, as a series ending to one of the best TV shows ever? wow, how horrible. It smacks of cowardice from the writers. The ole "ohhh boo hoo nothing we do can live up to the hype, i'm so scared of the hype and people expectations, so lets do this ambiguous ending". It was pure cowardice - make up your own ending bullshit that you do when you're too scared to just pick an ending. frankly, the article someone posted flat out said that the episode AS WRITTEN, had Meadow sitting down with the family, which basically means, the "Life goes on for Tony" ending. Imo, that's where the scaredy cat cowardice set in and they went for a "make your own ending" because "OHH BOO HOO THE PRESSURE AND THE HYPE WE'RE NOT GONNA LIVE UP TO IT". Gimmicky bullshit. This isn't just a case of the Sopranos, but in general, why is it so f'ing hard to end a goddamn story well? Everybody all over the place keep desperately trying so hard to be 'original' or 'shocking' that they can't tell a fucking story. I legit worreid what sort of bullshit Rowlings will pull out for Harry Potter or on the last episode of LOST. I mean, DAMN, just take a couple of logical outcomes and pick one. edit: after calming down a bit and rewatching the end, it's not so bad once you're over the fact that one of the best TV shows ever didn't get an ending. Upon further thought, I'm going to go with the literal interpretation that the Members ONly jacket guy went into the bathroom Godfather style, came out and shot Tony, and the sudden blackout was Tony's POV of getting whacked, you don't even see it when it's coming, fade to black, all that stuff. Since Chase pussied out with a create-your-own-ending, that's the one I'm creating.

The origins of the Vince angle

the problem with trying to compare wrestling as an entertainment program with 24, CSI, Sopranos etc..... is that at the end of the day, you're comparing wrestling to 24, CSI, and the Sopranos. In other words, if you put them in the same category, wrestling becomes even more of a joke than it already is - from the writing to the acting to the effects to the camera-work to the cutting, its completely horrific in every way if you actually do any sort of comparison with a halfway competent TV show. People roll with the idiosyncracies BECAUSE it's part of something "unique", different from the NBA/NFL and different from 24 and CSI. If wrestling's just another TV drama program, than it's literally the worst TV drama on television. It is however, probably the best and most unique "sports entertainment" program on the air.

    Where does Kobe Go?

I actually think we might see a 3rd team get pulled into the deal, maybe someone willing to ship a "bigger" player, a la gasol or somebody else, to LA in exchange for Chicago or NY's "not quite enough for Kobe" offers.

not a big fan of that trade, but flip saunders was too stupid to use him correctly anyways, he seemed to think the best use was for delfino to float around the wing waiting for a pass to shoot an open 3. that wasn't going to change this season.

    2007 NBA Draft Thread

here's an interesting question that someone posed at realgm. What if you had the #1 pick (essentially Oden), and you were offered the #2 pick and the #3 pick in exchange for it? Essentially, you're trading Oden for Durant and anyone else you like in the draft? Conley and Durant? Brewer and Durant? Horford and Durant?

Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs

hey you guys are the ones who didn't want Detroit-San Antonio. I'da guaranteed at least a 6 game series with at least 2 being close. I'da picked Spurs in 6 if that had happened though.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs

basically David Stern better start praying for a game 7, as those tend to draw good ratings. Pistons/Spurs Game 7 drew an 11-something rating, which in the modern post-Kobe/Shaq-Lakers era of ratings is good.

Good lord, its ONE FUCKING MONTH, possibly less, not to mention that she's a celebrity and press is everywhere so there will for sure be nothing bad (getting raped, etc etc) happening to her. She's acting like she just got sent for life. What a spoiled CUNT.

    LOST

that's frustratingly vague. How would someone have a falling out with EVERYONE? Unless they, like, killed a person. Hey its possible! edit: upon googling this piece of gossip, it sure does sound like Emelie from what I'm reading. One article implied it was a white female, so either Kate, Claire (Emilie), or Juliet.

    The Shield

it was a good episode but I was left a little underwhelmed. I was surprised when the show ended, there was no closure or come-to-a-head in shane/vic or the mexican story - so much so that I was wondering if there wasn't some mistake and the credits popped up early and there wasn't supposed to be another half hour?? It ended with Vic driving off with the car of leverage, right?

Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs

any team that plays good defense and *rebounds* the ball very well always has a chance, in any series, so Cleveland can definately put up a fight. I've got the Spurs in 6 though. Timmy D is just phenomenal, i'm continually impressed by how quietly good he is. Most importantly though, they have Greg Popovich, who is the top, or at least top 3, coaches in the NBA. They're not dealing with Flop Saunders anymore.

    NBA Roundtable Discussion

Yeah I was making that comment about Nene or Camby with the assumption that Detroit's front-line would be thinned considerably. I'm sure Webber is leaving, and Nazr is pure garbage and all indications are the Pistons have been trying to trade him (though if CWebb goes they might keep him just because). It also seems like Dale Davis is probably going to retire. Mad Max is awesome, and Amir will be good but its unclear whether he's going to be a big or a freakish wingman.

Houston definatly can't pick him up straight out, i don't think without the capspace - what cheech says sounds about right. If the Pistons get to a point where they need (or he wants to be) sign and trade, I'd look into Denver. Getting Camby or Nene would be a nice pickup.

    NBA Playoffs 2007: Conference Finals

what he did before coming to Detroit is irrelevant to that discussion since the whole nickname/reputation came soley out of his time with the Pistons. He first got that nickname locally in Detroit in 2002-03, his first season with the Pistons (the year they lost to NJ, who btw was the better team that year), after hitting a number of game winners during the regular season (including one particular buzzer beater that I saw many times on the detroit stations). ESPN and the nation-at-large crew picked up on it during the 04 playoffs I believe, particularly after the NJ half court triple in game 5.
