it was a very strange push too, because he sorta pushed him down veritcally with two hands on his upper shoulders.

Timberfake did alright, but I hope he goes just because I dislike him.

Comments that don't warrant a thread

I've been playing Resident Evil 4 on PS2. So far, it's a great game but two gripes. 1) It's at times damn hard to see around because your character takes up too much of the screen (it's behind the shoulder view) and 2) lack of strafing ability. As a result it's sometimes clunky to move around (I guess similar to the previous REs). But the story seems more interesting and some of the fights are damn terrifying. -
They definately did the two-night pitch to try to make Jordin the winner. SHe gave a good performance (I did like it and i said as much) but it certainly wasn't worthy of the over-the-top praise Randy gave it... and then the next night, raise your hand if you honestly think Jordin was in the bottom two? Nah, I didn't think so either. They manufactered that whole game as a "shocking" moment - to get the Jordin voters out in full force. They probably see Melinda as less marketable or something.

the bit with chuck and the donuts was pretty funny

You know I pretty much always feel that the best record doesn't win the whole thing (i tried to ignore that trend last year with my pistons but it still held true). It seriously NEVER happens, not detroit last year not miami the year before not Indiana or minnesota the year before that. But I never expected it to happen in the 1st round!

i feel like i've seen about half a dozen Dirk airballs this game, even though its probably not nearly that much.

Baron Davis is f'ing SICKKKKKK! that one on one jumpshot in crunch time was just sick

Golden State is too reliant on the 3 imo.
-
man the warriors are crazy just knocking down 3's left and right. still, you can't rely just on threes... err, can you?
-
the tempo of this game is way way too slow for Golden State to do their thing.

heeyyy, you wanna... get together... and have sexual intercourse... cuz you're my girlfriend?

I dont even care about this toronto/NJ game - I want to see golden state at dallas. I'm not afraid to say it, I didnt think GS would have a chance, i thought they were this year's "overrated underdog!" (in reality it looks like Denver is the one this year so far). I'm sort of rooting for them now. I fully believe the winner of tonight's game wins the series. If GS wins, for obvious reasons (3-1)... if Dallas wins tonight and ties it up, it would just feel like Dallas weathered the storm and are mentally tough - great teams go down in playoff series all the time, but they lock down and weather it and don't panic, if dallas wins tonight after everything GS did, i think that's their moment. But I hope GS wins tonight!

that's very weird. I have about 6 programs running right now, nothing has ever frozen yet, and no computer crashes at all, not even once (in about a month of use)
-
I think Golden State needs to push this and try to win in 5 or 6. Somehow, I just feel that if it goes 7, the Mavs will find some way to gut it out, 7th game is the ultimate equalizer almost always.
-
wow the Golden State crowd is NUTS!

THere is no way that Shrek and Pirates both pull in 400 million each because of their release schedules. They're ONE WEEK APART! Whichever comes out 2nd will seroiusly cut into the 1st's box office take - or if the 1st movie has the longevity factor then it will cut into the 2nd's opening weekend - and you need seroius longevity to even get past 200 million. Heck, even all 3 movies topping 300 million in one month is a bit on the iffy side. What Marvin said above sounds right. I really think one of these 3 is going to "flop" (in the sense that it draws something like 200 to 250 million). I'm not sure, but my hunch is it might be Shrek - only because Spidey's two "uncontested" weeks will let it rake in a bunch of money without being dented by Shrek or Pirates. At that point its pick your poison, i'm picking shrek just because.

Lakers might win another, maybe, but it won't go past 6. If Kwame had played this way in all 3 games so far, I might be open to a different result, but consistency is the difference between the top teams, and everybody else, and the lakers are firmly in "everybody else" category.

and the new Incredible Hulk is....
bobobrazil1984 replied to BlackFlagg's topic in Television & Film
They shouldn't "re-do" the origin, just start the movie with him out there on the road (if I recall, that's how the ANg Lee Hulk movie ended didn't it, with Banner out in some jungle or some such thing, thought to be dead). not directly reference the first movie's events, just go in with that shared knowledge that when this guy gets mad, out comes The Hulk. -
Everything can't be successful so there has to be some flops in there. I think that Transformers won't flop but will do "average" business considering the big budget and summer blockbuster-ish-ness of the movie. Basically it will be the King Kong or Hulk of this summer. I also think Evan Almighty isn't going to do a lot of business. Just a hunch. I also think "Live Free or Die Hard" and "Ocean's Thirteen" are possibilities to join the flop club, though the latter might depend more on when in the summer it's released. If it catches a "cold" week it could rip up the box office. I also think that one of the big Part 3s (Spidey, Pirates, Shrek) is going to do disappointing business but I can't decide which one.

I saw Baron's ejection coming a mile away, i'd been expecting it ever since Baron started barking after getting his first Tech during the skirmish.

It seems like a big wtf reveal moment and in season 1 it probably woulda been, but after having sat through enough writers' tricks, it takes about two minutes of thought to figure out what's going on. Ben and The Others had contact with the outside world, they were watching newscasts about the missing plane even (as shown last week). Clearly, the organization who The Others work for (the ones that recruited Juliet) know that the Losties are there, so they staged a crash site that showed no survivors, so people wouldn't come looking for them and stumble on the island. it's more of a 'fake swerve' because it makes no practical difference in the show. There weren't rescue crews coming on the island before and now we know there won't be in the future (unless it's Penny and her people, who know about it because of the magneto-thingie).
