also wi-fi and bluetooth. supposedly the touchscreen is some new sort of patent. Everything on it, from bookmarks to phone numbers and all that jazz, syncs in iPod like fashion. Phone is GSM, one feature ppl might not be talking about but I think is insanely cool is visual voicemail, where it lists your voicemails like email and you just pick which one you wanna hear. Also has a camera. The interface on this sucker, assuming its as easy to use as Jobs is describing (and images are showing) is UNREAL. Wi-Fi and Internet that runs the FULL Safari browser. (and he's still going). A lot of new Apple announcements are over-hyped, but this one is severely underhyped. This beats the ever living shit out of every cell phone, Blackberry, and Treo on the market. Those of you orgasming over an Apple-Google allience, GOogle's CEO just came onstage, talking about Google search and maps built right into the interface.

i've been playing the WoW 10 day trial (the office space commercial worked), and i'm getting addicted. I'm tempted to go ahead and subscribe for a few months, since i won't have to buy the game (apparently you can just upgrade your trial client or some such thing).

Very good movie. Kinda reminded me of Brian K Vaugahn's comic series "Y: The Last Man". Pretty scary in its plausibility. I thought the really scary part was the suicide pills being advertised like medicinal drugs are now on TV.

from what I understand, XM has more subscribers, having started earlier, though in the last year or so Sirius is outselling XM quite heavily, but not enough to catch up (yet?). They should probably go ahead and merge, satellite radio is a superior product but it fragments the market too much having these two.

I've heard Ron Moore saying that the ideal length of the series would be 5 seasons. I dunno if he meant they have any sort of plan or he just figured that's when they'd get sick of doing it.

I watched it on DVD tonight with some friends, was even better than I remembered it, there were some character strands that I missed at the theater and things didnt make sense. It was a lot clearer now. I can't wait for part 3.

I saw this movie and it was really great. I thought Stallone did fantastic, and did some good acting at various points, like when he breaks down to Paulie or when he finally tells his snot of kid off. I kinda agree, Dixon really felt like a lightweight opponent compared to other opponents. I think they needed to show a real fight of him just dominating someone with speed to establish credibility and they didn't do it. Although he was a better opponent than Tommy Gunn ()

I like that they stuck with one extended sequence instead of rapid fire cuts.

hmm I'm having a problem wtih PS2 NBA2k6. it recognizes the standard dual shock controller, but refuses to recognize a 3rd party controller or a PSOne dual stick controller (both of these work perfectly with other games). is there a known bug for this?

Mad Max is fucking awesome, he might be my favorite player right now period. Kenny Smith compared him to a young Barkley on tnt the other night. Love his spirit, and I really think he deserves some credit for how the Pistons are playing, I like that they all seem to be getting a little more physical and picking up the lack of ben slack. Max just attacks the basket fearlessly, no matter who is there. I'd love to see him in the game sometime when Shaq is playing just to see what he'll do. Hell he'd probably get knocked back on his ass but I bet he tries it anyways. I see more tough scrappiness from this kid than i saw all last season from the team. If this guy plays under 15-20 minutes in any game from now on, I will personally bust Flip Saunders' kneecaps. The past, I think, four games, he's been outstanding. edit: Yao left his game with an injury, that's a scary moment. He is finally putting up BEAST numbers, seems to have gotten a bit of a cutthroat attitude going, and then he goes down? they're saying its a bruised knee and nothing too serious. I hope not, i like Yao and I want him to have one full monster season, just cuz i think he takes too much unwarranted slack.

I'm playing Zelda: The Minish Cap right now. It's quite good, real classic Zelda gameplay, reminds me of Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, with some OoT and WW stylistic touches. My favorite new item is the vacuum type machine, its pretty useful. Only gripe is that Hyrule is so danged small, but that's ok for me the way I'm playing it now.

Speaking of Yao's English... looks like he's finally developing the mean streak everybody's clamboring for.

on TNT kenny anderson was talking about what position AI should play (the 1 with melo at the 3 or play the 2 with boykins at the 1 and Melo at 3). I feel pretty strongly AI should play the 1, PG, because it gives him a specific role that is more than just scoring, and with two high octane scorers, that's essentially, it gives AI a role to help win games without necessarily having to score 30 points. The whole "touches" scoring issue I think would come up more if AI was at the 2 and melo at the 3, since neither of them is really setting up the offense.

there's also the realistic matter that because of Iraq we probably don't have the capability right now for anything other than launching a few missiles. Certainly not for any sort of actual invasion or regime change.

Overall, I give the very slight nod to FF, mostly because each FF game seems to have a very different flavor from the ones before it, where Zelda kind of seems like the same game at times, but then again, that's part of what makes Zelda games great. There have also been more "primary" FF games than Zelda ones so I guess its easier for FF to 'average out'. the primary zelda games are the main console ones imo, LttP, Ocarina, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight, ocarina obviously was a big jump from LttP cuz it was 2d to 3d, but I cant help feeling Link, Ocarina, and Twilight (from what I can tell) all feel like the same game in different graphics generations, the same vibe. Luckily for Zelda, it's an excellent vibe, they're all great games. But I really like the FF7 to 10 string of games, and I like how each one has a unique imprint in my mind, they go for a different feel. And I like FF8 a helluva lot more than I like FF9. I never really paid attention to the primary "spinoff" period between 10 and 12 though (XI Online, X-2, the FF7 spinoffs, crystal chronicles), but FF12 has fantastic gameplay, but inferior story/characters. P.S.: X-2 completely missed the boat. It should have been a prequel about the Auron/Jecht/Braska days, with young Auron being the main character. They could have had their own plot and villian while still tying in with the known backstory from FFX.

I just saw the latest episode today. Great episode. Although I'll say, I did consider Peter possibly being the bomb a few weeks ago - actually my thought was either Sylar (absorbing everybody's power via the brains and blowing up) or Peter absorbing everybody's power at once. Looks like the latter, but it was still a surprise the way it was revealed. Love the show, can't wait for its return.

Anybody else get a real "New Jersey Nets" vibe from the new roster? Reminds me of when Vince Carter was paired with Richard Jefferson and JKidd. Some people thought they were title contenders, I never thought so, and my reasoning was that too much of the firepower was concentrated on the perimeter. Nenad Kristic just isn't good enough. hell I cant even remember who the other frontcourt guy for them was. The Nuggets are slightly better in that Camby can do some good things on D, and Nene is ok I guess when/IF he's healthy. But I don't see the balanced inside-out attack. And the reason you need a balanced attack is because it STRETCHES the defense across the floor, forcing them to commit to either defending the inside or the outside, and only a great defensive team can adjust quick enough to defend both WELL. It's why only teams like the older Spurs and Pistons could really stand toe to toe with the Shaq/Kobe and Shaq/Wade type teams. It jsut throws the lesser teams for a loop, go one way and you're BURNED on the other end. To take thought slightly further, I really felt the pistons downfall last season was really losing that balance and becoming too perimeter oriented. When they tried to re-adjust in the playoffs, they just couldn't do it. in that last miami series the only inside scouring they could get was TAY, their SF, posting up. AI paired with Elton Brand, or KG, or Dwight, or someone, woulda been a killer. The Nuggz desperately need KMart healthy to even think about doing something serious imo. I think if they mesh well Denver might, MIGHT, be able to take Phoenix, only because of the high octane offensive style, having Melo and Iverson being able to scorch out and score like crazy may work against a team like Phoenix, but they'll hit a brick wall in the face of the Spurs and the walking mismatch Dirk Nowitski and the Mavs. My prediction is a semi-final exit to Dallas or SA.
