    Spiderman 3 Trailer...

well, 1) they didn't clearly show it, Ben's demise was off camera, and 2) I'm guessing that he turns out not to be the one. just a prediction. That trailer was fucking awesome.

    LOST

Kate and Sawyer better get away. I'm so sick of "everything is part of the others plan" nonsense. That's why I liked yesterdays' episode, finally "we" got one up over The Others, Jack owned them and had em by the balls. If the Losties fuck this up, fuck em. btw the voice on the intercom that told Jack to try the door was clearly Alex.

Well Rumsfeld was in charge of some of the practicalities of military deployments strategy, though he's not a general or anything. I'd imagine if the new guy thinks differently than Donnie, things may be different. I know a lot of Generals and the like were really unhappy with Donnie, so there's a good change new guy will be open to taking advice from generals and such.

    LOST

i skipped watching the tv airing and downloaded it instead, just finished and was tons more satisfying without the fifty commercial breaks after 5 minutes of show. i think i'm gonna start doing that from now on when Lost returns.

    LOST

does anyone feel like there are more commercials than before on the show? Sometimes it seems like we only get five minutes of show time before the next commercial, i swear i've looked at the clock and noticed only like 6 minutes gone.

Rumsfeld gone? If Bush kicked him out that'll be the first move in a long time i'd approve of. I've said for a while, a lot of practical failures in execution in military matters (like, say, not having enough troops in certain areas even as generals were telling you they needed more) fall directly on Donnie. One question is though, if Bush had done this a week ago, would it have helped save them?

Incredible Hulk Movie Announced for June 27, 2008

umm. different writer. different director. a deliberate attempt to not repeat the tone of the first one. With all that in mind, why would the quality of the Ang Lee film have any bearing on if you'll see this one or not?

    Final Fantasy XII

for the moment I'm using swords with Vaan and Basch, Balthier is using a pole (only because I found a powerful Oaken Pole somewhere), Fran is using bows. Fran is my major magic caster, Vaan is kind of balanced, not a bad fighter but also does magic. Basch and Balthier are both melee fighters, though I'm thinking I should make one of them more varied. I'm thinking of having one character use Spears. Any downsides to using them ie slowness?

It'll be interesting to see how much of Nancy Pelosi's "100 hours" legislation proposal she introduces when the House comes into session. as i recal there were a few things, but the ones that interest me are the claims to allowing gov't to negotiate lower prices directly with pharmaceuticals, and raising the minimum wage to 7.25.

regarding the South Dakota abortion ban that got defeated, they screwed themselves by not putting in provisions for rape and incest. They thought that a full ban with no exceptions was a better challenge to roe v wade. I saw some numbers somewhere that said a lot of the people who voted against it, woulda voted for it had they put in those provisions. The lack of provisions had become very publicly known in the campaign.

Well, assuming the results hold... Good news: the INCOMPETANT FUCK UPS are gone. Possible Bad news: the Democrats we've come to know and "love" are in power. We'll see, but one thing is clear, we couldn't leave the republican incompetant fuck-ups in office to f-up even more than they have with All 3 branches of the gov't. Not a big fan of parties, but I'm more in favor of the general principle of having the opposition party have some power, and forcing various people to move to the center. Bottom line, the Republicans had 6 years to do their thing, and they blew it by fucking up at every opportunity. The 2 party makes it so to hold em accountable we have to take a chance on the other guys. When 08 comes around, you have to hope we get a new batch of Republicans who aren't f-ups like these guys.

i'm not so super optimstic about the democrats myself. I don't expect anything brilliant from them. however, i've always been of the opinion that if people are incompetant fuck-ups again and again like the R leadership has shown, the first priority is to get rid of them. i've never heard of a job where someone goes "well you may be incompetant and you may have f-ed up our company again and again, but we're not exactly sure about what you're replacement is gonna be like, so why don't you stay here and keep f-ing up!" of course the REAL solution is to have a system that isn't dependant on only two parties, the way its set up, if one side just keeps f-ing up, the only way to hold them accountable is to prop up the other side. hopefully by the time the Dems start f-ing up, this current crop of incompetant Republicans has been shunted aside for new leaders, and we can repeat this whole thing 8 or 10 years from now.

Webb-Allen is headed for recount city. They have a 1% recall rule, and there's like 2500 votes seperating the two.

meh. well hopefully the democrats can put up a little bit of resistance to some of Bush's more right-wing policies, but, eh whatever. One thing though, I don't think I'll ever support one party having all 3 branches again regardless of which party it is. Thanks Republicans for making me see what a disaster that is.

I was just watching McCain on foxnews and he got this big shit eating grin when the guy made the "outsider comparison" with him and Reagan, just after commenting on the 1970s big republican loss. It's so obvious, he wants to be the Reagan figure, the "outside the establishment Republican who CLEANS UP and rescues the Repubs". Its his whole big plan for '08. personally i soured on him the moment he started cozying up to jerry fallwell.

yeah starting to look like the Dems will come just short of the Senate and take the House, which is kinda what i thought.

that always confuses me too. The only thing I can think of is it matters which precincts have reported in. Illinois could have 30, 40, 50 percent, but if you don't have the Chicago metro area, it's almost useless. I also wonder how many numbers the networks actually have back there, but aren't allowed to actually reveal until a specific time? I saw Fox news project a winner and showed him being down like 10%! huh?

i'm gonna be really irritated if the Dems can't win one of the 2 branches, and it stays an all republican government. sometimes theyr'e just bad at politics. And with Republicans having control of all 3 branches, and f-ing everything up the past few years, I think we desperately need some opposition of any kind. f'ing pussies those democrats. Lets see what kind of president Bush really is, when put into the position that guys like Reagan and Clinton were, where they had to actually negotiate a little with the other side instead of running right or left.

    The 'Sheed Rule

i love how "good guys" like Steve Nash, Tim Duncan, and Cassell (though maybe he does or doesn't qualify) can throw mini tantrums and complain, but other players with less rep can get techs for yelping "Oohh!" after a blocked shot.

    Battlestar Galactica

Yes, that was Katee chopping off her hair in that scene. Ron Moore mentions something about that in the podcast for this episode.
