Comments that don't warrant a thread

i never got far into Star Ocean 3, because every time a battle would start, all of my "computer controlled" characters would get like half their HP drained no matter what tactics I used. if i switched characters, then the other character who I switched from wuold get his ass kicked. plus it was too confusing to tell what was going on. i did like the system early on when it was just the main character in the party and nobody else. so frustrating, that it fostered a hatred of any battle systems where your party members are computer controlled. I'm worried about FF12 for that reason. -

Um, did you try... Final Fantasy X? -
was in the mall for lunch so thought I'd step into the Apple store. no new shuffles on display but the mini-fied Nanos were pretty sweet. The 8GB Black was the coolest. But its even lighter than the previous nanos, and I kind of feel like the sucker is almost TOO small in your hand. The touch-wheel circle is a bit too small also. the button in the center coulda been smaller for more touch-wheel-room. That center button actually curves inwards on the mini-nano, unlike the mini where the button curved outwards. Having it rounded on both top and bottom on the sides is a tad odd because it's so thin. Color hounds should eat these up though. Unfortunatly the black is only available in 8GB i think. Not that I'll be getting any of these new pods, my Mini still works fine and i won't upgrade until a real video-pod or possibly an iphone comes out. But they're still fun to mess around with and check out how "kewl" they look and feel.

i hope there's less dharma hatch "mystery" garbage. i'm nearing the end of my S1 rewatch and there's none of that garbage, and even the weakest episodes are still amazing. Island survival drama is where the series excels. like the "who poisoned michael who gets the last spot on the raft" episode before the S1 finale. Nothing to do with any mythology, better than virtually every hatch-drama segment in S2. I dont mind stuff like the others holding them prisoner in a hatch or whatever if its necessary, but if there are more episodes which the entire climax with characters strolling through a new hatch simply the writers can drop us "clues", or endless debates over which hatch is a psychology expirment and which isn't (yawn who cares), i'll scream.

the Nanos are outfitted like the old minis are, with the aluminum, which is nice to avoid scratches, but none of the colors are as cool as the older black Nano. The new Shuffle is pretty sexy, and tiny. it has a clip built into the back of it.

re: article, that's why it costs 250. That's some profit margin Nintendo got going there. They could sell it for 200 and still make a profit, but they knew they'd got most of the hardcore fans in the bag already, so its all gold lining.

I just finished season 3 on DVD, and it was stupdendous. So marlow is the new heel eh? I don't have HBO so I'll probably wait for DVD (rather than try to play the download game). or at least wait till the season is over before trying it.

in my experience, most girls and women around that age are extremely horny, just as much as the guys. They're just afraid to express it outwardly and be labeled a slut or easy or whatnot and not respected. I knew girls in middle school and high school who ogled and wanted our one "good looking" young guy teacher.

Grandia II is hard to find?? on ebay it seems to be going for 10 to 15 bucks. I have a copy myself I'm looking to get rid of.

$250's not a bad price, it helps offset the "cheap" mentality that plagues consumer mindset and actually punishes you for having something priced low. It's interesting though that most reports had it pegged anywhere from 175 to 230, and it turned out to be more. I'm guessing Nintendo saw everybody declaring their Wii love and realized they could wrangle more bucks without losing sale, especially since their competition is high priced. pretty much everybody who was going to buy it at 230 will probably get it at 250. The actual hardware itself is not that much of an improvement over GameCube, so from that standpoint it almost seems overpriced (if you're not thinking about Sony). Wasn't the fact that it didn't leap forward graphics wise one of the reasons it was supposed to be cheap? Add a nunchuk attachment or a second wii-mote, you're looking at 300 bucks.

If there's any franchise that desperately needs a shot in the arm its the Bond franchise. Trailer for Casino Royale http://movies.aol.com/casino-royale-james-...-video-features Looks awesome I say. Love how dramatic and serious it is, instead of the goddamn smarmy and boring pierce brosnan movies.

Has it really been 5 years allready? 9-11-2001
bobobrazil1984 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Current Events
looking back at the past 5 years, as much as a mess that's been made, the guy I would kick out if I had a chance is not even Bush or Cheney, it's Donnie Rumsfeld. A lot of the fuck-ups that really burn my ass (and its the fuckups that're burning my ass, not the anal fissure I got from a too-hard shit last week, honest!) especially as it regards troops in Afghanistan and Iraq in the respnoses to 9/11, can be traced directly to Donnie's decision making. This guy is the biggest fuck-up I've ever seen. You're doing a heckuva job Donnie. -
I just saw the pilot to Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. It was fantastic. The pilot is available on Netflix to rent, and it's also on Youtube (legally, as part of promotion by NBC) apparently. Classic Aaron Sorkin. It completely channels West Wing S1-4 and Sports Night.

I'm not so sure about Wii's prospects. I kind of get the vibe that the Wii hype is more like, snakes on a plane or Serenity type hype, it really seems to be concentrated on the internet. I've not heard anyone who's any sort of casual gamer even mention the Wii or heard of it. I had to explain what it was and what makes it unique to people (to be fair, someone did say 'oh that actually sounds really cool' when i explained the wii-mote, but the point is I had to explain it), whereas I am always hearing about people talk about goods and bads of PS3. There's also the fact that it is almost too cheap price-wise compared to the xBox 360 and PS3. Those of you who really follow retail can attest to the fact that the cheapest item rarely wins. If anything, if the item is priced too low, it's seen as a "lower end" thing compared to the real items. It kinda doesn't make sense but it also kinda does. That can all change though once it comes out but I don't feel the hype beforehand. It feels too "internet" and "hardcore" to me. I could be wrong though.

Dark Cloud 2 is awesome. It also has skippable cutscenes. Its story isn't FF like in detail but its pretty good, and the gameplay is AWESOME. It's like the GTA of RPGs, its got tons and tons of stuff to do. Really reminds me of Zelda OOT except not quite as "medieval". Battle system is real time lock on a la oOT -
pretty bad. or at least, very formulaic rehashed nonsense. I can't even remember which movie was which from the post-goldeneye bonds. i have a vague recollection of denise richards, sophea marceau and halle barry as Bond's fuck-toys and that's it.

i've heard a ton of people say they're buying a PS3 soley to put it on eBay after hearing about the 360 prices. Methinks perhaps too many people have that idea, and prices might not skyrocket as high as they want possibly.
-
Yikes. Yet another piece of bad news. I have to say I'm somewhat shocked by the constant fumbles. That nerdy guy on the radio was right, there literally isn't any good news for PS3. I love the first two Playstations, thanks to their enormous library of great games (i still have a ton of greatest hit 4-5 star games that i havent even looked at yet). It also helps that I don't jump into a system until middle-to-late, so there's a buildup of games to play. It's like Sony has lost their damn minds.

Another Tailie. You know what this means. Bernard, you're next. Better watching out while on the road.

that's the first phone where I looked at the interface and felt like I would actually use it as a music player. that's how apple should design the iPhone, slide out keypad with a Nano-esque front.

Arenas = just another high scorer. That's the last thing the team needed.

when are people going to get that its a team sport and stop filling the team with "superstars". There should only be ONE member of the 30+ ppg club on the entire team. Maybe two members of the 20 to 25 ppg club on the team (with one on the bench). Everybody else should be role players. A guy who can hit open 3s. A great rebounder, someone to guard their bigs, someone to guard their stars, etc. And no i'm not just saying this now when they lost, you can go back and see when AI was left off i was saying then that in addition they should have left off one or two MORE high volume scorers. -
