*Cough*Anytime now*Cough* Charlie gets kissed. they pull back, go to black. Then suddenly we see raging snow through a window (antarctica? iceland?). Inside a bunker or station or something, two dudes speaking a foreign language (russian? portugese? unclear what) are playing chess. after a bit of chatter they realize that a light next to their computer is blinking, and it reads "electromagnetic anomoly" or somesuch warning like that. they start freaking out b/c they missed it, and call someone, saying "we found it", and we see the woman at the other end is desmond's lova, the Whidmore woman. Lost logo. by the way, I think everybody survived. there was no "fire explosion", it was an electromagnetic one. maybe desmond bit it being right next to failsafe but locke and eko should be just fine, and thats why charlie survived.

here's what i don't get. okay so the computer and magnetic whatever is all real. This seems like a pretty big deal now that we've seen it happen. Why entrust it to such an ass system with one or two people stationed there who don't know crap and why run a psychological expirement at the site where the world's fate is being decided? i wonder if the others are a group somehow fighting against the dharma initiative somehow, and dharma are the "bad guys" and perhaps they are former dharma-ites who rebelled and are 'good guys'. That explains why Kelvin (an apparent employee of dharma) referred to the others as 'hostiles'.

as the episode was winding down, i was kind of hoping the white bright light was the rest of the world detonating and the cliffhanger woulda been michael and walt sailing off and reaching land only to find it a wasteland.
-
now i'm gonna go back and read ALL the highlighted text mwahahaha
-
you know what part blew my mind? the four-toed statue leg. They shoulda left Desmond's woman out of it, instead had him on the phone saying "we found it" then cut to black. they found the island? there's the cliffhanger.
-
wtf was that?? Desmond's woman? that makes no sense at all!? I guess it was supposed to imply that the Whitmore people will find the island?? it was a fantastic episode, but the episode really ended on an incomprehensible wtf note. how and why would her woman know to search for an electromagnetic thingie?

How good is this game, is it worth picking up? Keep in mind, I like modern psx-onwards final fantasies and some other rpgs. I more tolerate strictly turn-based fighting rather than actually liking them. What i mean is, I like rpgs with epic stories and all that, but I am not interesting in a return to or recapturing of the "golden days of SNES rpgs". Would I like DQ8? -
the international trailer is so much better than the others. It's unfortunate they've been farting around with the other ones and this one is only (apparently) overseas.

bricking that many jumpers and shots that fall short is generally a sign of tired legs, but miami played pretty good perimeter defense, which is the key. They NEED to keep that up though, strong perimeter defense is really the lone way to consistently slow down the pistons. I dont think it was outstanding perimeter D though, det was ungodly bad on some normal shots, but it was pretty good. Miami definately had more energy in the game even when the score was close.
-
or not. lol. in fact, miami is playing more of a team game without the superstars in.
-
the Heat weren't gonna shoot 75% all game. the other thing is, they were just blowing past the defenders and getting wide open layups and shots, which is also pretty rare, and they didn't get the advantage of their defenders getting fouls called on them because of it. I expect it to stay close till the end, but the Heat have energy still. The rest did em good i think.
-
c'mon now, rigging for the RAPTORS!? if they were gonna rig for anybody it'd be Chicago.
-
Colangelo and the Raptors get #1! Chicago (via Eddy Curry) gets #2, Bobcats with #3

Detroit in 6. I don't believe Miami has the perimeter defensive ability to do what Cleveland did. They just don't have the personnel for it. J-Will and Shaq/Zo switching on picks in the backcourt? lol. Please. Of course there's always the chance Flip Saunders will wait until Game 5 or 6 before he realizes "hey, they can't do that!" and exploit. Dallas in 6. Dallas has the offense and the defense. they're for real folks. Last year's Suns coulda taken em, not this year's. I actually think Dallas will go up a few games, 2-1 or 3-1, then lose their second, and close it out in 6.

Pistons in 6 Mavs in 6 I'm a believer in the Mavs, and had creeped towards that direction for a while. This team is so much better than playoff choking Nelson Mavs. I had my fill of the Lakers the first time, so I have no desire to see "Lakers the sequel" in any Finals, not to mention i'm a Pistons fan... Detroit/Dallas would be a great series, two very complete teams.

I dont have any particular inclination to see DaVinci Code even though I enjoyed the book as a popcorn read... but I'm glad to see the christian right doesn't have nearly the influence I feared.
-
A new record for fewest points ever in a Game 7... the last record was Game 7 against the Nets in 04 (a series that unfolded EXACTLY like this one). You know what this means: More rule changes in the offseason!!! (and by the way, the Cavs made a conscious decision to play half-court slow-down ball in the series, it was a good decision too that worked well, so the low scores are not all the pistons 'fault', of course i dont think its a bad thing at all)

Amazing 4th quarter D on Lebron. they were in his grill in every shot.

what videogame sites do you guys visit? I'm getting rather sick n tired of IGN and Gamespot myself, but those seem to be the biggies for gaming news/features/etcetc -
I think its revealing that pretty much that whole list is older Bendis stuff (with the exception of Ultimate Spidey which is still going on).
-
the Cavs aren't doomed. They CAN win it on Sunday. I just can't see them blowing out the Pistons at the palace, whereas I feel like the Pistons getting a blowout win is at least a semi-real possibility. however, the last 3 games have all been 2 point games in the end, so we'll see. They'll have to keep it close then count on Lebron to take over late like in game 3.
-
That was a freakish ending to the game. Kind of like the reverse of Game 5, where pistons had like 3 chances to tie or win and couldn't get it done. the missed FTs (ridiculous) almost gift wrapped the game to the Cavs but they couldn't get it done on the boards. And yes, flip saunders still sucks.
-
which was basically what i was getting at seriously though, to Flip everything's about offense. ask him about rebounding and he'll tie it to making more shots so you dont have to rebound. ask him about a stop and i swear he ties it to execution on the other end somehow.
-
its too bad they dropped the seizures angle of Duncan, because that was hardcore.
-
so, will we see ANY coaching adjustments by the Pistons tonight or not?
