the techs seemed a bit much, but i dont know what was said. however, the foul call that precipated those techs was a very clear foul on replay, which i found funny that play caused the techs..

That was some fuckin ending to king/spurs. This is some trio of games here tonight. I was feeling annoyed that i had nothing to do this friday night, now i dont fuckin care.

i'm reading about advent children and other ff7 related projects... there's some prequel game that's played on a phone starring the turks, a sequel action game starring vincent valentine, something newer for the PSP, and this movie.... honestly, I wish instead of all these little projects, they'd just consolidated it into one honest to god full game sequel. People would buy it in SCADS.

this sounds like a Japanese move. The kind of thing they'll go crazy for but americans will just go WTF? I s'pose it stands out. Playstation 3. XBox360. Wii. ........... lol. So much for appealing to the college age "cool trendy" segment of the market.

the English voice acting is just incredibly bad. Some of the voice actors are OK, but their performances are spoiled because it doesn't match the lips right, its basically like an anime with the dubbed vs subtitles option. Halfway through i switched to Japanese with subtitles and could relax without getting distracted (cause their lips fit what I was hearing I guess). i ended up rewatching the first half in japanese with subtitles and it was much better. I liked it, but there was almost too much Reno and the Turks and not enough of Barrett and Cid and the rest. Cloud's character arc was kind of interesting, I guess he wouldn't go back into the fight or get with Tifa and the rest of hte 'family' cause he was haunted by his 'failure' to save aeris. Loved the whole gang coming together to take out the summon monster. I really dug the early character stuff with Cloud the 2nd time around and would like to have seen another half hour of depth, maybe with Barrett and Marlene or something.

Despite everybody being focused on Kobe vs Nash (they kind of played to a statistical standstill), Lamar Odom's strong performance vs Shawn Marion's weak performance was the real difference maker imo. By the way, the amount of shot attempts kobe has had in this series has been perfect. I believe it was 21 and 24? That's exactly the right range. If he goes too much higher, he starts dominating the ball and nobody else gets enough shots to really get going, we've seen it all year. i'm giving him his props, scoring while still getting people involved. they won't win shit with kobe scoring 40 on 30+ shot attempts while everybody else stands around.

You can always count on a mediocre team to make bad decisions in crunch time. That's what makes them mediocre, chicago proved it the last two games and now the kings did.

the wording of that porn site thing is interesting... "he visited porno sites with women wearing pigtails and miniskirts that looked to me like they were underage" Sounds like any normal porno site to me. Hell most of these sites are legally obligated (and they follow it since they are money making ventures) to have the models be above 18. Otherwise it woulda flat out said "he's looking at child porn"

Veronica Mars for 23 bucks? Goddamn. Makes me wish I hadn't already seen it (i don't really have all that much use for rewatching shows especially mystery-twist based ones)

A good deserving choice, though my pick was Popovich, it's kind of a Duncan Ben Wallace thing, where Pop is always one of the top coaches every year. I feel Flip Saunders is a bit overrated this season, I haven't been impressed with him and his staff's defensive knowledge, he has the advantage of starting 5 who already played lockdown team defense. There's also the lack of putting a premium on rebounding which is irrituation and his substituion patterns are just plain arbitrarily bad sometimes (like, for instance, not understanding that you shouldnt play the offensive black hole lineup of Lindsey Hunter, Ben Wallace, and Maurice Evans together)

from the previews it looks like Jack might become a terrorist, hijacking the plane! genius.

So, did either Sutherland or Eva Longoria end up being the real villian? that sort of thing is usually the "twist!!!" in these kind of movies.

the only time i notice the tumor is when they go close up on him. His voice sounds fine to me. I definatly want him to stay on TV, i usually hate it when someone fills in on Inside the NBA. someone did fill in once for Ernie, it was painful. I generally forget he has the thing until they do those close up status things.

I'm rooting for the lakers to lose now, not cause i hate them, but because I'm TERRIFIED of the thought of what the nba, stern, and the refs would do if kobe and shaq were in the two conference finals, and there was a real shot of a kobe/shaq finals.

First Contact was the last movie that was any good (even that did some have lameness and formulaic elements to it, but it had charm which carried it through). Nemesis was a boring piece of formula crap.

As clutch as Carmelo usually is, that last play brings up the next obvious question... who else on the Nuggets is gonna hit the shot when Carmelo is locked down? The Clips had him TRIPLE TEAMED (or at least a double team with a 3rd guy coming, i dont remember if it was an actual triple team). It wasn't porous though, they were right on him. That's the kind of play that Lebron, for instance, would hit the open man. Not even Jordan made every game winner, Paxson and Kerr anyone?

anyone catching the "multiple angles" thing going on with ESPN? ESPN2 has the game from different above the basket angles, with the shootaround guys just sort fo commenting (rather than really announced). Its kinda cool.

I'm not surprised at all that SA whipped Sacramento. Sure Sacramento's record since Artest came has been good, but it's not been great. 26-14 is not a GREAT record. It's just good in comparison to their suckiness before. Something like 34-6 woulda fit them into "dangerous" category. Every year people vastly overrate a bunch of low seeds maybe to try and get some drama going in lackluster 1st round... well, there's a reason they are lower seeds. I feel like LAL and maybe Chicago (though they are playing well at the moment) are two otehr teams who'se upset chances are very overrated.

i was rather disapointed with Ultimate Avengers. the animation and voice acting was pretty lame, just an "amateurish" feeling product. Coulda been MUCH cooler.

you make some good points Ripper but i think you underestimate their help and team defense. You're correct that Bowen is really their only great one on one defender, but i think their team as a whole plays the basic fundamental team defense, move and rotate well, do a pretty good job defending pick and rolls, this is all based off my admitadly less then comprehensive study of their team.

I wonder what sets these two particular players apart from the others. Is there some specific reason, what sort of evidence, if any, do they have on the two and not on the others?
