watching the pilot again really increased my desire for more island drama and less hatch drama. The island just looks so cool and is an interesting locale, i want to get back to it.

The Cylon episode was fantastic. It was interesting how adjusted as part of the cast Boomer, Six, and Baltar were, that an episode mostly from Cylon POV was still very engaging, after all we knew the characters. Really psyched for the 2 part season finale. Also want to see more of Apollo as Pegasus' captain.

how about ECW: "Second Date!"?

I prefer "L.A. Kobies" myself.

Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man

That looks awesome. Is that Peter Parker wearing a black suit or Topher Grace being an evil Spidey (venom?)?? Either way, looks great. -
you know me and my friends have always joked that maybe Isiah is still working for the Pistons, but I never even thought of Larry Brown as an "ex-Piston" before you said that. maybe they're both still working for the Pistons! Hopefully they can take a trip to Cleveland in a year or two and ruin them as well

dear god, that number is obscene, especially for a team that bad. I'm just thinking what we (Pistons) could be like if money was no thang the way it is for the Knicks and we could just spend and grab bad contracts with reckless abandon. Our bench would be Mike James, Mehmet Okur, Corliss Williamson, Michael Finley (we were in the 'sweepstakes' this summer, coulda offered much money) to go along with Delfino and McDyess.

Penny's huge expiring contract is fairly valuable, I'm fairly surprised that they used it on Steve Francis of all people. Why bring in Francis to move Marbury when you could just keep Marbury? Having just Marbury or Francis is the same thing.
-
the Francis deal just smacks of a continuing trend in Isiah trades....... aimless. Its not that the players he gets suck individually some are good, but It really does seem like he's playing fantasy basketball, just looking at a stats sheet. there's never been any direction or identity of the team. hiring larry brown continued this aimless streak because LB basketball is so contradictory to the makeup of the roster... even LB was like a fantasy basketball hiring (err if fantasy bball had coaches) "ooh he's a big name, he's coached teams that done well, lets get him!" all SURFACE stuff without looking at anything else. Isiah needed to have a plan of what kind of team he wanted, then make transactions that fit that plan. There is no plan though. i woulda committed myself to creating a high octane up-tempo run and gun team, since its NY and MSG, creating a fun exciting team to watch (regardless of winning/losing) pays for itself over and over in NYC. no offense meant to anybody here, but Isiah is a "message board GM". He GMs the way that people who post on RealGM.com or espn's boards would GM.

francis and marbury? lol.. Well, if you've ever said "you know if only we could clone Marbury and have him play both guard spots, we could win..." then you should be happy.

The Shield, season 5, official thread

hopefully Ronnie will get an actual storyline out of this. He seems like one of the most useless characters since he never does anything important. -
my source says this trade is being contemplated: Detroit trades Dale Davis and Alex Acker to Cleveland for LeBron James. There's also a Kelvin Cato for Yao Ming trade being discussed.
-
you know, with rumblings about Iverson and KG, maybe Philly and Minnesota should jsut switch star players. At least they'd both get something fairly close to equal value. In some ways it might be a lateral move though, however philly could get really good, a frontline of KG/Webber/Dalembert is Pistons-like in its potential. I just checked ESPN's Trade Machine, and a one for one swap actually works.
-
In case anybody ever wondered how much a team is paying PER WIN... the first number is overall payroll and 2nd is how much per win: NO/OKC are pimpin' it.
-
McGrady aint going to the Lakers, dude. lol. seriously if that happens, i'll............... do nothing except make some smartass comment. but its not gonna happen, I call BS.
-
I figured out the optimal trade for making the Knicks better. Isiah better start working the phones: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...~18~18~18~8~8~8 PS: Toss in the recently acquired Orlando 2007 draft pick, you know, to make it fair for the 2nd to last team in basketball.

RealGM.com has had a trade checker for a while now, go check it out. I think I like ESPN's better though b/c it tells you the actual salary dollars, whereas RealGM does some kind of salary ratio.

if East wins, Lebron is mvp, and if west its Tmac
-
Arenas and Rasheed are not having good games. I'd like to see a Billups/Iverson backcourt for a few mins before Wade comes back in.
-
helluva third quarter there. and that was a lot better outing for the pistons in the late 3rd early 4th than in the 1st half. i think they needed a competative environment to be effective. everybody's just farting around in the 1st half. they had the advantage of matchups too. the west's heavy hitters (Kobe, TMac) were getting a breather.
-
I hope Rasheed gets a tech, just for the hell of it when the Pistons are out there.

what was Iggy's first dunk in the finals that got him a 50? Its only been about 20 minutes, but the only dunks that I can remember from the contest are: -AI to AI behind the backboard in the first round (shoulda saved it for the finals Iggy) -Nate over Spud Webb -the between two legs toss dunk (5783 attempts)
-
but the AI to AI dunk was in the first round wasn't it? Why should that have a bearing on the scores in the final round and OT? or was it the 1st dunk in the final roujnd? They really should have a 5 attempt limit though.
-
Iggy's dunk-off follow-up dunk though was the same dunk he did right after Nate's Spud Webb dunk, wasn't it? Tuck through the leg? It wasn't enough i think because we see the between the leg all the time, he shoulda bounced it or something.
-
These TNT shows are pretty entertaining actually. The Next 10 and this dunk show. They should just ditch the 'invitation' thing for the dunk contest, and open up for any volunteer (and maybe narrow it down if lots of people invite). I gotta think a few names would apply.
