this season has started out well but I'm more than a bit dissapointed that by hour 3 we're already back to a standard "Jack working with CTU" status. What's happening now could basically be happening in any season, with jack caught inside.

one of my few criticisms of the pistons is their over-reliance (in my opinion) on perimeter shooting. they have the talent to get to the hole, not just with rasheed, but rip and tayshaun and sometimes billups can all cut in from time to time. especially when the jumpers aren't falling (cleveland game for instance) they need to recognize it and shift their game. the spurs game was great though, only now they'er up against a string of bad teams, hopefully there's not a letdown loss.

Definetly didn't see the ending with Cain coming (at least in terms of who pulled the trigger). Somehow though it feels a little too pat. I thought the Apollo in space stuff was weak and stretched, especially with the nature of his rescue. It was still a good episode though. Great show.

you know, if this show were real life, both Sawyer and Jack would be getting so much tail. They'd have banged every hot chick on the island by now. and traded a few times too. Great episode though. Eko's backstory was incredibly badass. Slitting two guys throat with one slash? Insane. Loved finally getting a look at Lostzilla. from the pictures, kinda looks like it was scanning Eko's mind, no? Interestingly, the only two people to face off against lostzilla without it attacking them are Locke and Eko, both of whom showed no fear.

holy shit, anyone see the video of Keyon Dooling (sp?) and Ray Allen fighting upa nd into the stands... then Dooling actually trying to chase him down in the locker room! WTF! obviously we're missing part of the story here, it was such a bizarre thing, they jsut showed the video.

The computer thing is definetly very sneaky, tryin to lure michael out there. Previously i'd been an advocate of the "HAL 9000 theory", some sort of AI run amok, its still possible after this ep.

The Shield, season 5, official thread

^ i came away with the same impression from Ronnie, as it relates to being the daddy. Danny looks down the board across the names, they focus on the "contact Ronnie for all bets" line and she smiles. -

The stuff with Forrest Whitakker was great I thought... but the actual A plots of this episode were boring. The gum thing was a strange little gimmick that actually kinda made sense, as far as cracking under pressure goes. I did think it was kind of interesting how the members of the barn were sort of running the asylum themselves. at one point you had danny, vic, shane, dutch, claudette, all standing there coordinating the case among themselves, switching cases, etc, and working well together, wtih no oversight. despite the feuds its like they're a well oiled machine. -
 Genius.

I wonder if she'll give birth to a hand.

I'll go with April thoruogh June, primarily for the the nba playoffs, but you also catch the end of march madness, and if one cares, the nhl playoffs.

What's up with Wade, why isnt he playing? I mean i assume its injury but I didnt hear of any injury. This game looks like game 6 of the ECF last year, wade was out, and they just got raped, murdered, and then their corses got raped and cut up by the pistons. Suns are doing that too. How long is Wade out for? it'll be interesting to see the differences between how the Heat play without Wade and without Shaq (earlier in the season)

damn, is this show fuckin hardcore or what? Roslin was also pretty badass-upfront too. "We have to kill her." I let out an audible WHAT THE FUCK whne she said that. I love when Adama gets the badass 'dont fuck with me' look. Cain signed her death warrant at th end of pegasus part 1, its just been delayed. you fuck with adama, you pay, plain and simple. What a badass. Really psyched for next week. Hopefully there's plenty of Starbuck/Apollo mission goodness, those two are gold together.

Jon Stewart will do fine. He's funny, but not too hilarious, and not really offensive to many people. whatever. The thing with the Oscars is, you can't really do anything really funny. Putting aside pathetic broadcast standards, if you try to make fun of Hollywood, they revolt on you. I mean yeah there's the occasional 'diss' joke, but its pretty lightweight. You have to do that sort of schmalty bob hope billy crystal type thing. Anything else and people pan you. by the way, letterman wasnt anywhere near the worst oscar host ever, there were several funny moments, and some of the way he mocked the 'hollywood elite' was pure gold. Then again, my humor is pretty skewed to begin wiht. A host walking up to Tom Cruise and saying "Dude, you're batshit crazy" and walking away would be funny to me.

Futurama is genius, but its been soooo long since it went off the air, you have to wonder if the writers still got "it".

wrong. in fact, his ginormous super-ego made him even more listeneable. There are some people who I never ever want to become humble, they msut always be egomaniacs. Among them Hulk Hogan, Stern, and William Shatner. As far as Roth goes, I might try to give him a listen tomororw morning while getting ready for work. It just seems like an awful idea though. The west coasters got it better with Adam Corolla i'd imagine.

i really dig the video for 'since u been gone' probably b/c clarkson has that old-school 80 rocker look going on in there.

thats just how the dumbass media is, they need to find some angle. they cant just ignore the pistons when they're winning this much. The "70 games" thing gives them an angle. endless day after day segments of "can they win 70?" with everybody repeating their opinions... until the Pistons lose a few, and they change around. Personally, I'd be happy with 60+ and home court advantage through all the playoffs, in fact I'd rather the starters take it easy the last 5-7 games of the season get ready for the playoffs rather than try to full out gun for 70.

The Pistons/Heat game ended pretty much exactly like Game 7 did last year. Close game, Wade scores lots of points, then in the last 3 minutes the Pistons lock down, make great D plays, and Chauncey calmly knocks down big shots and free throws (not to mention a huge 3 by Sheed). Wade was getting many good looks throughout the game, but during his last few possessions Prince was on him like glue. The best sequence was Ben Wallace blocking Shaq on one end, passing it out, and Tayshaun going behind the back completely faking out Wade for the dunk. owning both shaq and wade in one sequence? priceless.

its funny, WWE as well as their apologists bring up other shows in arguments or justifications constantly, like CSI, or more recently 24 ("wtf 24 uses terrorists, why arent u mad at them!?!?" during the hassan shit)... imagine if WWE was actually held to the standards of writing, dialogue, and acting of any hour long drama?

caught that too, but I think its a red herring, an early obvious clue. i cant see Logan trying to kill all those people just to get back at them. Now, for some reason I could see Duncan doing it, only because he has that 'flash of serial killer mentality underneath the boring facade' thing going that someone mentioned earlier.

You know, with all the people picking Kelly Clarkson, is it even fair to think of it as a guilty pleasure anymore? I mean, even if you dont like the genre, the girl can sing and hit those high notes.

I thought this was a pretty funny movie (INDICTEDD!!!!!!!!)

I think people are confusing "respect" with "coverage amount". no question the Pistons are getting respect. They're just not getting the coverage that average-to-good teams with "superstars" get. At this pace, the Pistons are on track to become not just a "good" or "great" team, but barring a collapse or injury they are on track to become a LEGENDARY team... now is the amount of coverage they're receiving consistent with that? The Nets going on a hot streak gets the same or more coverage. In that sense, there's a very real gripe, not quite "respect" but something close to it. Personally I'm happy with it because it just fuels the Pistons players, and the NBA is shooting themselves in the foot by not making the Pistons the centerpiece of NBA coverage b/c if they get back to the Finals, well then everybody will whine about how they don't care, whatever. You woulda thought they'd learned this lesson with the Spurs but apparently not. again i dont care, the only finals matchup that matters to me is seeing a Det vs SA rematch. well first, some analysts (though the minority) were actually picking one of the two to get past the Pistons, and yes, to the Piston players, saying "The Detroit Pistons will not be as good as the Miami Heat or Indiana Pacers this year" was a sign of disrespect to what they've done the past 2 years. McDyess has been recently quoted as saying it made him ill to see them being ranked as 4th or 5th during the off-season, so it definetly fuels the players (i just hope they dont wear themselves out going on a regular season tear).
