by the way, "working with" means supporting the same educational school reforms. Personally I think Obama shoulda walked up those kids and told them "sorry you little turds! I was gonna help you out but you see, this Ayers guy also wants to help you, so i can't! Screw you!" and punched em in the face. http://thatone08.com/

Well I thought Biden killed her on the actual issues. That's just me though.

Biden is killing her on the issues. BUT Palin has that 'aw shucks i'm just like you' charm thing. Bush charm. So she's probably going to win.

McCain: Instead of emergency room, go to Wal-Mart

It's 248 fucking pages! How in the hell do you navigate through something like that? Stuff about the economy and what not just gets buried in there amidst stupid youtube videos and posters arguing with one another over inane stuff. Maybe I'm just neurotic, but I don't care for threads that go more than a few pages. I lose interest in checking them. Anyways, I may be the only poster that feels this way. I made it a poll in Site Feedback about it. Go vote. I agree with you 100 percent. MEGA-THREADS = less conversation, peroid. -

The US Economy and Current Financial Crisis

Lets just hope all those people insisting that without this bailout, dire shit was going to happen... were just blowing smoke out of their asses. I'm just glad that I don't have any money in any of the areas hit so far. All I have is my bank account at a normal bank. i should be ok... right? RIGHT? -
"Your own adviser (Kissinger) just said we should meet with Iran with no pre-conditions" Owned.

ironically i thought mccain did a little better on economic questions and obama is doing better on foriegn policy
-
This is because he was briefed that Obama is going to try to make him upset and not to get cranky and upset, so he refuses to engage Obama.
-
I think Obama has done better in the direct exchanges between teh two, but McCain's initial answers are better. Stupid Lehrer cut them off just when it got fun when they started arguing
-
First 10 minutes, I'm not all that happy with Obama, he sounds awkward. McCain is coming across better

It's a code word for "changing from Bush policies". Changing from a right wing president to a left wing one. (being that i support generally left wing policies, that's fine by me). Changing from a president who thought Iraq was a good strategic move to one who thought it was bad (a "dumb war" in his own words). I don't know why people have such a hard time decoding the real meaning of things. It's really not so complicated.

McCain won tonight's upcoming debate. http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/...debate-victory/ *snickers*

I'm not really interested in the more 'modern' stuff with Rummy, Rove, etc. Hell i'd rather read a bob woodward book. the stuff with W and Bush Sr though has me interested.

I've started paying attention to the show again, and man am I glad they finally moved past all that farmboy Smallville Lana crap. It actually feels like Superman now, with Clark and Lois working desk to desk at the Daily Planet, Clark having to sneak off to save people in the actual city, snappy pseudo-romantic banter with Clark and Lois (so much easier to watch than all that Lana garbage), investigating stories together, they've even shifted Lois' character subtly more towards the Lois that we know. All they need now is to bring Jimmy back into the Planet as a photographer and do more with the Lois/Clark/Jimmy trio. Oh and Michael McKean returning as Perry White. I would so watch an arc-driven "Metropolis" with Welling, Durance, that ashmore kid who plays Jimmy, and Michael McKean.

If McCain was still up 5 points and not way behind on the economy as an issue, this doesn't happen, period. Picked this up off of drudge: That's tremendous.

Trailer looks good, but I hope it's more Casino Royale and less old-style Bonds. I'm so very tired of the 'Bond cliches'

I split time between Chrome and Firefox, but I think I use Chrome more so I guess it's my main browser. The speed increase is really noticeable and is just too good to pass up. We'll see what they do about extensions though as Adblock is the only thing Firefox really has over Chrome for me. It's telling though that pages still load much faster on Chrome even WITH all of the ads and flash ads and all that crap Adblock blocks out.

If the whole movie was IMAX, that might get me to go see it in the re-release even though the DVD is out... but as it stands, I'd rather just watch the DVD at home, especially since I'll be worn out by watching the DVD so many times at that point.

huh? $229 is a very good price, if you like that sort of thing. there are a ton of applications for it, even free ones. Video quality on screen is great, internet is by far superior to most other mobile devices, and the UI is still great. Especially the last two points, the internet and the general UI is great. Not to mention the old standby music players.

Michigan is pretty much a swing state too, as the last polls have Obama with a very slight lead, like only 2 points or something. I'm voting absentee in Michigan btw

Biggest problem Obama has now is that McCain, through his convention and nominating Palin (political genius), and with the help of the media diving in on all the family stuff creating sympathy for Palin... has more or less torpedoed the "He's another Bush" thing. He made his name on being the non-Bush Republican, and he's gotten that label back. Harping on him and George W. Bush just isn't going to work anymore. They need a better line of attack, plain and simple. they're spending too much time attacking Palin specifically, failing to understand McCain's benefit isn't just Palin's presence, his benefit is the fact that HE CHOSE Palin. It's the whole, he's so daring, he went to alaska to nominate this woman, blah blah blah thing. Not to mention I've always thought there are at least 5 points worth of people who SAY they're for Obama but are secretly worried about him being a secret muslim and not sharing their christian values and that he's black (nobody believes he's a secret muslim if he's white, period). There's a problem because there's no narrative they can use now on McCain, echoing how there was no narrative against Bush other than he's bad. They can't link him to Bush/Cheney, they can't make the subtle "he's a pussy" argument that was used against Kerry because of McCain's background, Palin secured the adoration of the religious right so they can't drive that wedge now, hammering Palin won't work, what can they do now? McCain's confidence on Iraq and Iran makes america's vagina wet, they want to be "just friends" with a guy like Obama. The only thing left to do is to try and refocus the whole debate on the economy. I saw a great youtube debate clip between Clinton and HW Bush... it had Clinton talking to someone in the town debate, making a connection and telling them that they need to understand this election is about a failed economic theory, trickle-down economics, and which direction they want to go in. I thought, yes, that's what needs to happen in this election.
-
Interestingly, despite McCain's newfound advantage in the polls, Obama still wins based on electoral polls. But many of the key states are razor thin. He pretty much needs Michigan and Pennsylvania though, and to capture one of two "mid-land states" (NM and/or Colorado)

Javier is the only casting suggestion for Bane I've seen that actually makes me want to see him. I have zero interest in some wrestler or musclebound freak playing Bane.
