The idea of "stefi" and gewertz making judgements on bad booking is hilarious

the white house staff is giong to ethics school! the jokes tell itself.

THat was awesome, 0.8 secs, but I coudln't believe boston didn't defend better on that though because the Rip's curl-off-screen-pop is literally his bread and butter, he does that like 10 times a game.

Also, SHaq is out for 2 to 4 weeks. That's gotta hurt them in the home-court race against Indy and Detroit. Personally I'm still, and have been, of the belief that this new mishmash miami team isnt as good as Indy/Detroit, so this cant help that much.

Bill Simmons' nba preview articles on espn are pretty funny. There's a nice little Kamen-HulkHogan riff on part 2, and a few other tiny wrestling references. 1 - http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/051102 2 - http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/051103

It was a rerun this week. The past 3 weeks in fact. Next wednesday (the 9th) is the next new episode.

From the Mayan/Atlantis theory: Atlantis was an ancient island that sunk years ago. An island with a mild climate with a power source described as mysterious electromagnetic crystals. Where is that last part from, about the electromagnetic crystals? Is that part of the myth/story of Atlantis in general???? Because if it is, that's a hell of a coincidence as far as the show goes. I'm not so hot on the plate-edge shifting, but so much of the other stuff the theory mentions really does fit. THe bit about the mayan calender in the video was pretty interesting.

Gee, the Heat really coulda used a 3 point specialist in that final minute. Like, I don't know, one of the good triple shooters who were traded/left because of the Heat roster explosion.

50 Cent disses Kanye and New Orleans, praises Bush
bobobrazil1984 replied to Rob E Dangerously's topic in Music
Well I also don't see where he praised Bush. More just calling Kanye's comments stupid, which i think most people, even non-fans of Bush would agree. (I liked Chris Rock's "Bush doesn't care about midgets" riff though, heh) -
As far as user interfaces go, I dont think anything beats Apple's scroll wheel and menu interface for useability. The autosync feature is also wonderful (if you have the space for it). iTunes is ok as a management program though occasionally a bit clunky. iPods plays mp3s just fine, the majority of my music is mp3. If you require more extra features though, iRiver really likes to fill their players with lots of doodads. They exist more for advanced heavy duty users, who like shitloads of space and tons of options, and don tcare about being idiot-proof. I hear good things about their players. I'd avoid Rio like the plague. Maybe even Creative, though just as many have good than have bad experiences with them. I'm not a big fan though. My friend has a Dell DJ and its pretty good. Seems to do its job though its interface still isn't as good as iPod its still pretty easy to use. not a bad alternative, especially if you're one of those "i hate ipod cause its trendy!!!" people, but really while holding it it just felt like it was trying to be an ipod without being one.

For a second I thought you meant Ben Wallace. my heart skipped.

This is great. I stopped wrestling over a year ago but every week there's always some new and incredibly stupid and moronic backstage news coming from Vince and his gang of idiots. Its seriously constant entertainment.

"Brownie"'s emails while the hurricane was raging and people living in hell: http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/11/03/brown.fem...ails/index.html There's a PDF download there that has all the emails rather than just the ones cited in the article. My favorite part: Two days after Katrina hit, Marty Bahamonde, one of the only FEMA employees in New Orleans, wrote to Brown that "the situation is past critical" and listed problems including many people near death and food and water running out at the Superdome. Brown's entire response was: "Thanks for the update. Anything specific I need to do or tweak?" (Copies of e-mails -- PDFexternal link) Wow. Its amazing he is immediatly able to respond to emails about his wardrobe, but takes days to respond to, you know, people dying and shit.

I have to say I'm happy with what i've seen of Detroit's offensive game so far. They are moving and pushing the offense, and just have a vibe to it that i haven't see before. Its only one game against philly though so we'll see, but so far i like. they also actually have a full second unit right now, instead of just going 7 deep like they were in the playoffs.

Nene out for the whole season. Boy it sucks to be the Nuggets.

I'm sure Scoop Jackson feels better now Anyways i'm lookin forward to tonights Det/Philly game and seeing waht the new Pistons can do. I dont think they're gonna take a big hit. In particular, I want see how their bench does. As good a job as LB did with the starters, by the end of the season, Delfino, Arroyo, and Darko all had big issues with him, and little playing time, and all three have performed well in camps/preseasons, so by default their bench should be much better than last year. Roster wise, its probably a better full roster than either of hte last two years.

not a bad deal, considering what prince gives the team. It might be a tad ovepriced for other teams, but his value to detroit is higher. i'd heard prince wanted 50+ initially. I think they'll have just enough to give ben wallace the max deal next year.

I'd love to see Jude Law play either Ozymandious or Rorschach.

Heh. Well if you heard the nonstop clips Stern would play of him, this is no surprise. heh

Comic book ner...fans...help me out here.
bobobrazil1984 replied to CBright7831's topic in Literature
I think that its true Ra's doesn't fit the general theme of Batman baddies, but because he's really the only baddie with that sort of theme (and that he looks cool and is written well), it makes him stand out as far as villians go. -

The Long Halloween is really good. One of the best Batman stories ever. After that, as Special K said, you HAVE to read "Year One" and "Dark Knight Returns". They're pretty much required reading for Batman fans. -
The One and Only Batman Begins thread
bobobrazil1984 replied to Ravenbomb's topic in Television & Film
intrestin. The comic book thing was kinda cool, but nothing necessary. I've already read the original batman story, and every Batman fan should go out and buy the Long Halloween in its 12 chapter entirety this instant instead of reading chapter 1 in the little book. "The Man Who Falls" was a pretty cool thing though, you can definetly see a LOT of influence of the first half of BB from there.
