Yeah I really liked it too. While the first 3 episodes of the season were good, none of them had the great character stuff that made season 1 fun, so this was nice, getting back to the characters. Ending montage was nice too. The only downside was Ana Lucia being the cliche 'super duper tough chick'. Well maybe Saywer will bang her which will make everything right in the world.

though there's another thread on this... iTunes is selling Lost episodes the night after they air for 1.99 per ep, or something like 35 bucks for the whole first season. here's a report from somebody over on slashdot:

That's awesome. Assuming the video quality will be good (i think it will). LOST episodes the day after? Nice. I might even use it sparingly, like with iTunes i sometimes just buy the song if i dont want to go through the hassle of finding the torrent or wading through corrupt limewire files, but i only do it sometimes. if ya cant find a good seed it might be worth it to use. 1.99 aint much if its every now and then.

The shark pic doesn't quite look like a swan (the inside of the DHARMA shape) Maybe the inside of the DHARMA shape looks differnet because it s the marker of the one of the other "sections" or bunkers or whatever. Remember, the hatch bunker was referred to as the swan, maybe the shape on the plane is different animal.

Sam Mendes directed this??? I can't see any way this could suck. Unless Akiva Goldsman wrote the script.

I read a few issues of it. it wasn't bad, but it felt too much like an episode of NYPD Blue or other generic cop shows.

What year did WWE start to lose their edge?
bobobrazil1984 replied to CBright7831's topic in The WWE Folder
2001 definetly. There were bad signs in late 2000, and Steph took over the writing, and really early 2001 is where it all started to go to shit. X-7 was sort of the last night of real glory. -
i think its the double whammy of having a strong 2nd run of success thats more than just 'nostalgia', makes them feel like an institution, being that they been popular since what, the mid-80s? their last two albums were pretty good but nothing comared to achtung baby, joshua tree, and unforgettable fire.

Here's a question for you. The guy on the film reel who was talking, what ethnicity was he? Korean maybe? Coupled with the possible-spoiler in the preview, and the knowledge that Jin's daddy in law sent Jin on that flight to deliver something? Could crime-lord daddy be somehow involved? If you go to that Hanso Foundation website it mentions that Hanso used to sell weapons during WWII? Oh, here's something else cool I found on another site. Look at the location/coordinates of this island. http://maps.google.com/maps?q=4.815+162.34...87195&t=k&hl=en also, if you zoom out you'll find its almost right in the way of Sydney-->LA. Coincidence? Possibly.

So you guys think the "Browncoats" can be zealous in their love for Serenity? You aint seen nothin yet, heres Ender's Game author Orson Scott Card on Serenity (who if you might recall, wrote a recent article talkig about how other shows have passed star trek by in quality and praised Lost to high heaven): http://www.hatrack.com/osc/reviews/everyth...-30-extra.shtml ..i think calling it the best scifi movie ever is more than just a tad over the top, but still I'm glad he liked it and is talking about it, even if he is a whackjob in other ways

well clearly the movie didnt kowtow to the "casual audience" enough. man i hate the fuckin casual audiences. There HAS to be a better way for kickass niche stuff to make money. Something DVD-related would do nicely. what whedonite wouldn't buy a 4 or 5 hour miniseries of brand new content?? Fuck, a 4 hours of goodness that doesn't have to worry about "casual audiences" > 2 hours of general audience goodness.

Serenity made you dizzy? SERENITY!?!? don't ever go see an omnimax movie.

10 million? ouch. Well at least I can take comfort that it beat Into the Blue.

I met Mick Foley today at WizardWorld Boston. It was just a quick thing and I got his autograph. But it was still cool. (I also saw but did not meet Eliza Dushku. Goddamn is she hot).

Yeah, go see Serenity instead!!! (god knows it needs more viewers)

I actually liked it much better now than I did in the May pre-screenings (although obviously the surprises werent as striking this 2nd time around). It was a hell of a time. The best way to describe Serenity is: Star Wars if Han Solo was the main character. It had the same kind of crackerjack space fun with appropriate serious that the ORIGINAL star wars trilogy had. Remember how many funny, quotable, and memorable banter lines there were in ANH and Empire? That's the kind of thing that serenity has in SPADES. The kind of film those borish prequels (at least 1 and 2) should have been. Great dialogue. As far as strictly lines go, it was one of the best scripts of the year. My favorite was My only crit is that the exposition in the beginning is rather clunky, and I waswn't all that impressed with the villian.

the catholic church just gets better and better. -
where exactly did "black babies" come from as an example? doesnt that strike you as a little strange, that someone singles out black babies. next week will be Rush's turn to say something outrageous. He cant be out-shocked-right-wing for long.

Who won? We did. (Special Olympics would work also as an answer)

why is everybody confused about the Zod thing? Lionel referred to the two Kryptonions as the Disciples of Zod, ie, followers of his teachings or whatever. its just a way of ripping off Superman 2 without outright shitting on its continuity by actually having it be Zod.

Ebert's review of Serenity. It's positive, 3 out of 4 stars. I should point out though that there are some middling spoilers there, possibly a bit more than your average review, down in the third to last paragraph (begins "Serenity" is made of dubious but energetic special..." ) so maybe you wanna skip by that one para if ya don't know. http://www.daily-chronicle.com/articles/20.../liveitup08.txt
