Not to take anything away from Nash, but you are right. So many analysts are pointing to House having a career year, but for the most part, he comes in when Nash sits. They may get some more PT together with the Barrett pickup, but still, House is just fitting well in the system. Even through the end of last year, I wasn't the biggest D'Antoni supporter, but I think clearly from this season, you can tell his system is what is making the Suns and Nash what they are. Nash is putting up the MVP numbers, but it is the system that allows him to do. Just one of those "stars alligning" combinations. I think you are dead on with the Nash/Billups too, but I fear that if the Lakers get in the playoffs, even at the 8 seed, Kobe may end up the MVP. Also, Marion was averaging those numbers and got thrown in the game late last night to try to tie a Suns team record for those averages.

Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
It just looks like the street below to me. I have it on full enlarge and it doesn't look like anything but an alleyway to me. Same here. Given the past posters, I think something will be added closer to the release, once more stuff is confirmed, images have been released, but for now, with everything staying so secretive, they aren't going to give anything yet. -
Suns just released Jimmy Jackson. It's a shame, but I could see it coming. He played so well for them last year in the playoffs and then got no time this year. They are the front runners in the Tim Thomas sweepstakes, but they still only had 14 on the roster including Jackson. Suns were team 11, where do you guys see team 12 being? You think the Spurs try for him if the Suns get Thomas?

No fuckin' with the US basketball team next time around.

That could be true. Puerto Rico was whooping everyone with the star power being Carlos Arroyo and Daniel Santiago. Throw Nash, Maglorie and maybe Dalembert on there, they could be solid. -
Carlito Getting Into The MITB match?
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
Not so much. I mean, RVD is the obvious favorite, but if you had RVD/Flair/Shelton/Lashley/Hardy/Finlay or even replace Flair with Carlito, I'd put Lashley as the number 2 choice to win. He's more likely than Flair, Carlito or Shelton at this point and yes, more than the other two Smackdown, but it'd make for an entertaining, most likely brutal match. -
Pure jobbers who became main eventers

Although he was a high midcarder at best, I have some tapes from mid-90s WWF where Chris Kanyon was getting a beating from superstars... sorry, best I could do... -
Samoa Joe signs MULTI YEAR contract with Tna !!
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to a topic in TNA Wrestling
I think we'll see the first win coming off of someone countering the choke sleeper into a cradle. The choke has been pushed strong, so someone countering it and doing so as a way to give Joe his first direct loss, should get that person, and the counter, over huge. As for who gets to be the one to do it, best guess is Jay Lethal. I think Lethal would be a good choice too. They have to make a star with it, they can't give it to someone established. If they do go for someone who's been around, I'd want it to be Petey Williams personally. I haven't seen SO much TNA, but it seems like his role has decreased a bit from the tapes I have of 04/05. The main problem I think would be if they go a route with someone like Petey, it would be cheat to win and like HTQ said, it really needs to be a clean win, preferably with a counter to the choke. -
I was never really the biggest Goldberg or WCW fan, but the quote on Reign 8 does not sit right with me:

I wasn't thinking defense when I saw that at first... thinking it was starting to get a little bit harsher. I haven't seen it yet, but they did show a brief clip on ESPN during the Celtics/Lakers game or Knight School saying "Tune in for the Feel Good Story of the Year".

Box Office Report 2/24-26
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Gary Floyd's topic in Television & Film
Well Jon Stewart was in it and ripping on it the other night to Ebert before it was even released. At least with Death to Smoochy he didn't rip it until after it was out for a while (although I did enjoy Smoochy). He was ripping Doogal pretty bad, making fun of his character, pointing out it wasn't released to reviewers, among other things. -

I was thinking the same thing. Flair, and although I loved him back in WCW, I'd never call Norman Smiley a legend either, among many others on this card. -
The "What Film(s) Did You Watch Today" Thread
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to a topic in Television & Film
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who wasn't fond of Serenity. I got asked to go by some people I knew that liked the show and I really didn't care for it. I put it mainly towards me not seeing the show, but at least I am not alone... I watched this weekend Domino - 7/10 Really surprised by it, didn't expect much, but alright. Ultimate Avengers - 7.5/10 Enjoyable, but just scratched the surface with only 70 minutes (haven't read the comics they are based off though, that may be why) 40 Year Old Virgin - 8.5/10 Seen this a few times, but a goodie. Fog (2005) - 5/10 Fun popcorn flick, but nothing much over that. -
I think that campaign is kinda funny, but I can see egos making the Mets combust this year. Sounds like two New York teams making guarantees which hopefully neither will live up to.

Haha, that's the last thing we need... I really don't like seeing any of these teams move, especially Seattle based on how long the franchise has been there, but I'd think the Kings would be the front-runner to the Las Vegas sweepstakes. I mean, the Maloofs are already in Vegas, this would tie it together more. Places like Sacramento can't lose a franchise though. What else will they do there? Cow-tipping is only fun for so long...

Other than the fact they carry the titles right now, Kane and Big Show shouldn't even count with the real teams. The have barely tagged together since they won the belts.

Thomas Haden Church cast as villain for Spider-Man
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in Television & Film
According to the official Spiderman movie website in CBright's link, it is Spidey/Peter Parker. Luckily... I'm all for Topher Grace being Eddie Brock as he is a strong actor, better than having some hulking bozo drag the movie, but I still want Venom to appear as Venom. -
I agree completely, but I think the way things have been going lately, they will ruin it by having Rey "turn against Eddie" rather than just dropping it.

Osama bin Laden vs. The Goddamn Batman
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to Big Ol' Smitty's topic in Literature
I am somewhat interested in this book, even if it results in "Car Crash Value". I have a feeling it may be hard to come across though, as I think a lot of people will buy it as a collector's item and by the time it is getting released, someone is going to try to put a ban on it. -
Weekend Box Office 2-17-06
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to SuperJerk's topic in Television & Film
I was one of the suckers who went to DATE MOVIE. A group of friends wanted to go catch something so I went. A couple little chuckles and ONE thing I laughed pretty hard at. But it was mostly gross-out and generally something to stay away from. I do think Curious George needs to climb more, hopefully it'll get some word of mouth. I saw it getting really good reviews (not that I or too many people I know care about them) and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it last week. -
Should TNA get a new world belt??
LivingLegendGaryColeman replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in TNA Wrestling
They are waiting for Monty Brown to win it, so he can remake the belt with a Cheetah print..... and a spinner. I seriously have thought that the belt needs to be updated. Someone else said that they have paid for the NWA rights through 2012, I don't think a redesign would negate the belt being the NWA title. I think even the NWA should realize that their belt looks like a cheap indy belt these days. -
I keep hearing Seattle, but I would really hate to see them leave. Then again, I never really like it when a team just up and moves (except for a team like the Marlins in baseball, seeing their have given their city two World Series rings and still have trouble). I keep having fun with the trade simulator, but I realize I have more fun doing jackass trades than anything realistic: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/features/trad...~13~13~13~13~13
