The acting was solid from both as per usual with them. But, for me, I though it was more of the same old Denzel we've seen time and time again. I'm not saying it was bad acting or that it even felt recycled, but that it was nothing that stood out from any of his other performances. It is one of those, he met the high standards he is held to, but didn't go above and beyond it. For me, I thought Crowe did excellent, played his character to a T and may be a sleeper for an Oscar nod. It looks like this season there will be too many movies with better performances, but on a weaker season Crowe would get the nod.

Also, for the love of the uniform gods, he needs new tights. They are too distracting/ugly to me. The hybrid flags don't work.

OAO 11/05 Raw Thread...... no longer thinking about "Y2J"
boobshaw replied to Boxer's topic in The WWE Folder
No, Vince obviously has some sort of Eeeeeeeeeeevil Plan to destroy and humiliate DX. Thus we will be treated to some awful unstoppable DX gimmick. I mean, HBK himself took at both Edge and Orton in a handicap match earlier in the year, and HHH has squashed everyone he's faced since returning. Santino should not get a win over Austin, as that would change his comic character into something it is not meant to be. Santino should get to at least escape the stunner in some dastardly manner (see above suggestion regarding the rochambeau) only to be forced into the ring with Stone Cold at the next PPV to receive his richly deserved stunner and subsequent beer-dousing. Santino's character is a comedic heel; he can't get the duke over the company's original badass face and still remain a comedy act. And let's face it, that's all Santino has is that glorious mic work. We don't want to have to watch any painful attempts at matches by him, do we? I completely agree with this logic. The only problem is, WWE's focus has been all on ratings as opposed to building to a PPV payoff. Since they view the ratings with more priority than anything else, Santino's fate is sealed. MY issue is, with Santino getting all of his cheap comedic heel heat, I can't believe they are wasting it on Austin. Santino is the type of guy (as mentioned above) that needs to be booked as the weasel, running away at the right times, only to have a face finally catch up to him and 'shut him up'. I know the Condemned DVD is out, and Bonnie "I Was A Teenaged" Hammer wants the ratings, but Santino is the type of guy that can actually be used to help build someone (i.e. as an enhancement talent). (And also: they have a built in, classic program with Maria as the "valet needed to be saved from the heel" that Santino's mic skills alone could make a golden angle) Of course, with Cody Rhodes jobbed out to Spark Plug, and DH Smith in love with his dad's mistress, there isn't really a face left that can be enhanced (minus HHH of course). -
Assuming Jericho ever shows up to the WWE, what about him winning the Rumble? Right now, Cena has two money fueds when he comes back: Randy Orton for putting him out, and Jericho (who will instigate it because Cena originally got him "fired"). Jericho wins the Rumble, wins the title, and is set up for Cena-Jericho at Summerslam. Just a thought...

How ironic Damn, I thought this thread was about the board game and was unintentionally put in the wrong forum.

I just browsed IMDb's release dates and holy crap there are a lot of great holiday movies coming out I want to see: Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium I'm Not There (the Bob Dylan movie where like 8 people play him) Walk Hard National Treasure 2 Juno Charlie Wilson's War

After Cuddy got yelled at during that one episode (paraphrasing "You'd suck as a mother!"), it seems like that whole arc was dropped.

That list will crush the hopes of Astro fans here that want to sign Schilling and convince Pettitte to come home again. Astros fans should be happy. They get Brad Ausmus for another year. As a die hard Astros fan I have to say.... *gouges eyes out*

I did. Signed, 1997 Rocky Maivia

I just finally watched this ep off my DVR. John Cho is the man! He stole every scene he was in. He singlehandedly (although Kevin Heffernan was a nice surprise) took that episode from thumbs in the middle to thumbs up.

I think you are right. Once people saw that Save us promo, they clicked off the TV. If next week's rating is down below 3.3, then we'll really know the full effect of the WWE pulling the rug out from under everybody with Monday's no-show.

I like the gun and knife just nonchalantly sitting next to the final product.

Steroid Dealer Brags of Relationship with Ric Flair

He's 58, so he's damn near there. -
I think the make or break episode for this season is going to be "Four Months Ago" that airs on 11/12 (third ep from now). It is supposed to show what happened from the time of last season's finale to the time of this season's premiere. That episode should tie up some loose ends and explain a lot of back-story, probably kick starting a swift sweep to the end of the current "volume". If anything, Heroes last year kicked everything up a notch, and really had its best episodes during the sweeps period, so November should be a great month for the show.

Am I the only one still watching this show? I thought tonight's episode was quite fantastic. Although it gets lost in all of the other big ensemble shows, I think this one does the absolute best job of progressing everyone's storyline at a reasonable pace, allowing us to get behind all of the characters, all in all still progressing the main "dad death" story arc. The acting is still solid and the writing gets better each show. Plus, Peter Krause and Donald Sutherland is still a one-two man combo.

Not So Detailed Smackdown Spoilers for 10/26/07
boobshaw replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
I know thats what the booking on the surface says, but I really don't think they are gonna go that way with any of them. I think the overall booking actually dictates otherwise. With Punk, if Big Daddy V wins, they have it set up where Kane can interfere and Punk can keep the title. If Morrison wins, I don't think they'd be too apt to give him the title right after the suspension. If Miz wins, then armageddon is upon us and it doesn't matter who wins the title. With Bats, I think its too early to pull the title from him. Not only did he lose 348 times in his chase and losing this soon would make him look like a huge punk, I don't think they trust Undertaker's health enough to put the title back on him. That being said, they may WANT to take the title off Randy (if HBK wins the voting, of course) to give the whole "your vote does matter" feel and hot shot it to Shawn. That gives HBK the incentive and reward for coming back early, keeps Orton/HBK going to build to DX vs. RKmaga. -
If I'm not mistaken, I do believe the Gatorade Gods deemed grape the Lord, King and Ruler of all Gatorade Flavors, with it and all of its variants in grape, the supreme in taste. I wonder what flavor the new Tiger Woods Gatorade will be. I am thinking its going to be a four part mix of white cherry, lemon, black licorice and... um... (insert American-Indian metaphorical flavor here).

Did anyone see Mike Irvin go absolutely batshit crazy in the owner's box at the end there? I need to see that vid or gif soon.

Oh ho, a shot at me I see. I'd like to throw a shout out to outdated banners in signatures.

To be honest, even though I did pay for a potential Y2J appearance, the last title match made it all ok for me. The main even was booked and executed almost flawlessly. It was a fantastic match with great struggle and amazing near falls. I still think it was an overall thumbs in the middle show, but the main made it worth the price of admission. And the hot Chicago crowd made it all the better. After a string of sit-on-your-hands crowds, Chicago made me believe in heat again.

Orton has changed to Gold (and black) tights. He was wearing red earlier

If Khali contracts Hepati-- elevated enzymes and misses this match again on his way to the ring, I will mark out... not only at not having to see him wrestle, but at such an improbable scenario.
