I'd been too busy with Uni lately to download the episodes on a regular basis for a while. Last night did a binge of all the episodes since the musical. So far this series has been top notch. The episode where JD goes to visit Kim was probably the one that sticks out in my mind as being the best one of the lot. The most recent episode was done excellently. The whole thing with Laverne and Dr. Cox, it really fleshed out Lavernes character, gave the viewer a real reason to feel sympathetic towards her and the BAM in a coma. Cliffhanger. Exciting stuff.

    Rock Band!

I'd actually been saying to friends for a while now that this was where I saw the whole GH concept going. I really hope that it manages to be as good as it could be.

    ROH Supercard of Honor 2

I'd love for Claudio to get some sort of substantial push out of all this. It feels like he has done absolutely nothing since he was supposed to leave for the WWE and that whole mess. Hopefully this will also lead to Shelley and Sabin becoming more regular members of the roster, they'd be most useful at the upper end of the card. Shelley more so than Sabin. I do think Sabin could be effective but it all depends on how he's presented when he comes back in.
  5. Good for Cabana. It's been a matter of when, not if he gets signed for a while now.

    ROH Supercard of Honor 2

It'll be interesting to see what they do with Danielson upon his return. Which NOAH guys are coming over besides Morishima?
  7. How can you forget Finlay's head in blood, trying to climb the ladder but is completely in pain and damn near in tears until Hornswoggle runs out and Finlay has that "yeah! go boy!" look on his face like Lassie just showed up. Then after Kennedy kills Hornswoggle, Finlay goes nuts and even though he was in pain tried to take Kennedy out. Ending after the match with Finlay holding Hornswoggle almost crying. I thought everyone had their moment in this match. Jeff and Edge obviously with the big spot (as well as Edge's spear fest). Matt was a total dick in the match telling Jeff to die and at the same time taking out his bitter rival and threatening to hurt Sharmell (this is something they need to continue, maybe a heel turn for Matt should be in the works). Punk had his spot with the step-ladder, was the only one to actually counter the spear and took the second biggest spot of the night and was essentially the runner up in the match and actually had the crowd going at the ending thinking he was about to win. Booker had a couple comedy moments specific with the step ladder reaction and his humanized moment with Sharmell. Kennedy shined here, obviously with his fantastic reaction to Hornswoggle and the following bump and his finish sequence with Punk. The only part I didn't like was that ladder turn but he obviously knew to turn it to the hard camera for the visual. It wasn't as dramatic as the first one with Benoit selling the fuck out of his arm injury and Edge being the dick throughout the night along with Benjamin's nifty leaps but it was quite ahead of last years which was the Flair spot, Benjamin's leap and a good pop for RVD. Also, I just wanted to say while I agree with 52 on most, he's way off calling it a ***** match. From all accounts, that match wasn't even in the top 3 in Detroit that weekend. I've rewatched since my original post and I'm glad I did. I really liked Matt threatening Booker with hurting Sharmell. Giving both Booker and Matt some depth to their characters. Another near spot was Matt trying to do what he did to Mercury by setting up the ladders in the same way. There was a lot more going on with people than I initally gave it credit for definatly, although I still think 8 is too many, making it difficult to recall what everyone did.

    ROH Supercard of Honor 2

Looks like a bunch of injuries coming out of this weekends shows. Mark Briscoe & BJ Whitmer look to be out of the April shows. Jimmy Jacobs is going to be out of action for at least 6 months. That really sucks for him as he has a boatload of momentum coming off the big cage match win. The Newswire said he's going to carry on making appearances at the shows at least.
  9. The Money In The Bank was a good fun match. The right man won in my eyes. 8 Men may have been too many though, there were long periods were you just didn't see people. I hardly remember Finlay doing anything in the match. There just wasn't enough time for all 8 of them to get a decent amount of screen time. Shame really. Batista/'Taker was better than I expected. Undertakers streak never really seemed in doubt though. Cena/HBK I didn't enjoy as much as I should have. Admittedly I'm not a fan of either mens characters, but they can both put on matchs that are very watchable when they want. They just didn't manage that last night. There was a few good spots like people have said, the Asai moonsault, the reversal sequences. The rest, bland and didn't go anywhere. If they'd gone out there and just thrown each other around and not really sold I would have understood and at least have enjoyed what I was watching but the long period of leg work and striking in the corner just killed big sections of the match dead. This is not me hating on the match for the sake of it, I really wanted to enjoy the match but just couldn't.

From the sound of the cage match alone this is put in the must buy pile.

    ROH Supercard of Honor 2

NRC lost against Jack & Doi. I can't help but feel that NRC should have won considering Romero just debuted in the group. Jacobs winning has pleased me greatly. He's quite an asset to ROH, I really hope he has evern better things to come in the future.

Why would Shelley agree to team with Strong though? After everything thats gone on between Strong and himself it wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

Sabin & Shelley back in ROH, best thing I've heard in quite some time.

You're right to want to see LCD Soundsystem live. They're better than they have any right to be live. I really wasn't sure how well the songs would translate to being performed by a live band. It do so better than I could imagine. The only song that was a let down was Daft Punk Is Playing At My House. That's simply because I've built it up so much that there was no way it could have lived up to expectations. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad. It was just different. Still very enjoyable. When I went to see them in Bristol Sound of Silver hadn't been released yet so I wasn't familiar with the new stuff other than North American Scum. The set they did really worked well considering. I got all excited thinking that Get Innocuous was going to be Losing My Edge though, which the start of the song is designed to do I would guess. I even really liked the way the stage was set up, mirror balls around the place and futuristic looking podiums for the decks. James has an incredible sense of rhythm, just going over to the drum kit and adding to the drum solo seamlessly. I really appreciated the effort that had gone into making the show something a bit special down to small details. The night after I saw them they did a late show in London at the Astoria from 8pm - 1am. I can only imagine how brilliant it would have been. I'm probably going to get to see LCD twice more before the summer is over, at The Reading and The Wireless festival. Yeah!

    Hot Fuzz

I have a lot of love for this film. I especially love the scene with Simon Pegg talking to each one of his superiors. Each was more brilliant than the last. I'll always have a soft spot for Edgar, he's pals with the Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster and got them onto the soundtrack for SOTD. What a guy.

    Reading/Leeds Festival line up

Who would have guessed? I was saying earlier to a friend that I was a bit disappointed that Interpol were on the main stage instead of one of say headlining one of the smaller stages. Looks like I might have to change my tune.

So, what's the word? Are Interpol any good live? Saw LCD Soundsystem last week in Bristol and they totally blew my expectations away. A fifteen minute rendition of Yeah had me dancing the whole time.

    Reading/Leeds Festival line up

I'm there again this year, making it eight years in a row now. Looking forward to seeing the Arcade Fire again, I think it would have been better for them to headline the Radio 1 tent though. In previous years I would have said they were about the right size to do that. However, it seems like the level of band it takes to headline that stage has dropped a bit. I'm excited about seeing a good number of bands that have been announced so far. I'm looking forward to seeing the Carling Stage and Dance Tent line up though. Still, quite a while to wait until they come out.

Comments which don't warrant a thread.

I'm going to see Maximo Park on the 23rd of April. I've only heard that one song, Apply Some Preasure. Art Brut are supporting though I love them, I couldn't miss them, especially as the gig is in Cardiff.
  22. So, I guess this means that ROH is now Takeshis Castle.

    Goodbye Samoa Joe

Knowing this has made me want to attend the Liverpool shows even more than I already did. I want to be there to say goodbye to Joe, can you imagine the kind of reaction he is going to get? He will get treatment like he is second coming.

Yeah, she's still seeing him. His role as of late has been toned down though quite a bit. He's established now and dosen't need the screen time as much as the others, I guess.
