Directions For Seemingly Directionalless Wrestlers
Garth replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in The WWE Folder
I would have loved to have seen Venis in the place of Jordan. He would be more over than Jordan is in the position and would have made an excellent US champion. -
It costs £135 for a weekend ticket, or you could buy single day tickets at £60 each. There is a possibility that Ghrol could drum for QOTSA as the Foos aren't playing the Leeds festival until Sunday.

Yeah it's like that where you camp for the 3 days. I've been going to this festival for the last 5 years, it's always a great experience. I haven't got my ticket yet, but will be paying a visit to Mr. Ebay to ensure I go, there is no way I'm missing it. What are some quintessential tracks by this Saul Williams fellow? I'll definatly be checking out DFA1979 and Arcade Fire, Q Magazine over here was pimping tracks by both of them in their "Download This" section and I've really grown to like them both. All this festival needs in my opinion is for Andrew WK to be added to the line up in one of the special guest slots to make this one of the most fun festivals I'll of ever been to. Recommendations from me on what to see: QOTSA - usually good fun live, but like Jimmy said they do have good and bad days. Marilyn Manson - I'm not what could be considered a big fan of the guys music, but my God does he put on one hell of show. Not to be missed. Turbonegro - Another super fun live band. Iggy and the Stooges - The guy has an incredible amount of energy for a man his age, Iggy won't disapoint. Those are my picks based soley on previous festival appearances and their performances at those.

I'm really loving the Punk angle with everyone knowing he's leaving but no one knows when. Certainly makes for an interesting situation, more or less every crowd will be on the edge of their seats almost sure that they will be seeing a title change that night in front of them. Very clever booking I feel. I'm some what dismayed to see that Whitmer & Jacobs are no longer tag champs, mainly though it's my dislike towards the Carnage Crew thats given me this attitude. I also feel a lot more could have been done with the reign of Whitmer & Jacobs, have them be almost unbeatable in the tag team scene, have them be put over on commentary as being the perfect combination of strength and speed which makes them so hard to put down. This could easily lead up to a big time collision between them and Generation Next.

I'm really pleased to hear about Rhyno landing on his feet. He was always my favorite undercard guy in WWE and I loved his ECW work. It sounds as if he had found that fire that made him so good in ECW again, so hopefully we'll be seeing his old self tearing it up. I for one would definatly like to see him come in as a heel, give him a couple of PPV wins against people like Chris Sabin, Jeff Hardy, Ron Killings possibly, and bingo bango you've got some one who could realistically be challenging for the title against Raven. If the two could put together something half as entertaining as their Hardcore Title match from Backlash '01 then we'd be in for a treat.

I'd be really appreciative if someone could direct me where to go comic book wise. I've started getting into comics the last few months; I haven't really before as they're not super easy to obtain in the UK. I've started travelling down to Southampton now which has a Forbidden Planet comic book store and now the series I was reading and really enjoying has ended I'm not sure what to start getting now. I have been reading the Gambit comics, and have also picked up this massive essential X-Men vol.1 compilation which has about 50 really old issues in it. What would you guys recommend for me to go onto now?

Avenged Sevenfold - I won't see you tonight (Part 1)

Bacon sandwich and a cup of tea.

I really want to see that happen now. I wouldn't be against them getting New Jack in to fill that roll so they can reprise their tag team from a couple of years ao.

I think the reasom the ref counted would have been that Joe's shoulders were down. However, I'm not going to verify this as it takes an age to load up the video in the player I've got. I thought it was a good Impact, in fact its the first I've ever sat all the way through and watched, so I feel this is quite the achievement. I liked that they had two decent lengthed matchs, the other two served their purposes: to expose those that didn't order Slammiversary to "The Samoan Submission Machine" and to get Sharkboy on TV while he's somewhat hot from his lawsuit. I really enjoyed the Raven/Abyss/Mitchell stuff and am excited to see where this is take on Impact the next few weeks.

I'll usually be wearing something similar to these bad boys:

Does anyone know when Impact is getting put up on the TNA website today. I'm really keen to watch it so would be very appreciative if anyone can tell me.
-
Basically Joe sits his opponent down on the outside on a chair in a corner where the guardrails connect. He then gets the crowd chanting Ole, Ole, Ole. He takes a few steps back before taking a run up and nailing them with a kick to the face.
-
I whole heartedly approve of Joe getting the chance of show casing his talents on a potentially national level. He's a brilliant guy and a great talent and really does deserve this oppurtuinity. Hopefully he does more than just wrestle at Slammiversery in his match against Dutt, which I'm sure will be very enjoyable. Hopefully he gets involved in some other aspect of the show in order to really make an impactful debut. Do you guys reckon his signiture spots like the Ole kick will get over in TNA?

I can't imagine Samoa Joe doing anything stupid simply because a fan asked him if he was going to WWE since it's rumoured Johnny Ace has been told to sign him. He's a regular guy outside of the ring. Maybe if you smashed his rental car, but a simple question? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Joe's an awesome guy out of the ring. Met him at international showdown earlier this year. He offered me a Samoa handshake, but instead I petitioned to him for a Samoa Hug, he was happy to oblige. The man gives a good hug. Also got to meet Punk at that event, good to have met him and proved him wrong at said event before he got signed. He's my favorite indy wrestler so I have a great feeling of ambivilance towards his signing. On the one hand I'm very happy for him, he's going to be making the bigger money now and getting to showcase and do what he loves on an international level. However, on the other hand it quite possibly means the end of the big/meaningful match scenario for Punk let alone actually getting a regular slot on events for all we know. I sincerly hope this works out for all the best for the Punker.

2005 WWE Television Win-Loss Record & Standings
Garth replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm legit shocked that London has the most victorys this year so far. How the hell did he pull that one off? -
Still though, 500ish people isn't anything to sneeze at for an indy show is it?

The Aries/Spanky, Joe/Gibson & Shelley/Strong make this show one to pick up. ROH are continuing to put out some great looking cards, I'm really looking forward to the summer when i'll have a job again and can pick up some DVD's. Looks like promising attendence for a new market such as Buffalo. It pleases me that ROH aren't overly rushing their expansion, thus risking not giving its established bases attention.

Finished "Heir to the Empire" the other day, good read. When I've got a bit of time and money I'll definatly be picking up the two follow ons to it.

I'm gonna have a go at getting tickets for the London version. To get tickets for it you have to enter a text message lottery, so I really doubt I'll manage to get any.

When I was watching ROTS I definatly got some Shakesperian vives, I've been studying Othello recently and there are definatly some parallels to it in ROTS.
