David Beckham signs with Real Madrid
rising up out of the back seat-nuh replied to a topic in Sports
Good point. Also, for those who care, Real are not renewing their managers contract, despite winning the league. One of the front runners for the post is Man Utds asssistant manager. Also, Hierro is retiring. (credit bbc.co.uk) -

David Beckham signs with Real Madrid

Well seeing as the media ripped him to shreds, I'd give the credit to Beckham. Probably because 9/10 he is the only player who can make a difference for England. And since when did determination become a bad attribute? No need to apologise, I used to hate him, but he has won me over, The tabloids turned on a six-pence with Beckham. Granted, after the Argentina match, he could do no right for a while, and its to his credit that he got through that. But to the same extent, he can do no wrong now. It's very rare you hear criticism of Beckham now, even if he's out of form. Theres a difference between determination, and following the ball around the field giving away free kicks and getting out of position. And he's not the only person who can make a difference. I would rate Scholes, BUTT and Gerrard (when on form) as being more complete midfielders than Beckham. I don't have any real problem with Beckham as a footballer, and I have to admit he can place a ball better than anyone else in England right now. But he is grossley over-rated, and as a celebrity he bugs me intensely. Also, I'm surprised Man U didn't try to get McManaman as part of the deal... -
David Beckham signs with Real Madrid

I think beckham can cope with the fickle nature of the Real crowd. Remember he did go from being the most hated man in England in 1998 to England's lord and saviour by 2001. Maybe, but how much of that was him, and how much of it was the media? Granted he's grown up, but he's still got that petulant side. Like whenever he chases the ball all over the pitch when England are losing, like he's the only person who can make a difference. Sorry, I don't like Beckham. -

Well done Kidman, you got rid of your only distinguishing feature. Muppet. Also, when's Unforgiven? Is it Raw or Smackdown? -

Real is Spanish for royal. Therefore Real Madrid = Royal Madrid, the side of the Spanish royalty. I'm not sure about the United thing, but I remember hearing somewhere that Man. Utd. was formed from the shadows of Man. City. I might be wrong though. Also, I can't see Beckham lasting long at Real. He's gonna be second choice for set-pieces behind Carlos, I can't see him being quick to learn Spanish (I might be wrong), and he's not gonna be a traditional Liga winger. The reason Beckham is so highly rated is his wife, his crossing and free-kicks and the fact that he is more skillful than most in the Premier league. At Real, he might be overshadowed, and I can't see him liking that, especially if the fickle Real fans start turning on him. -
I dunno what's scarier: that 3 of those guys have had WWE championship matches in the last year, or that 3 of those guys have ME'd NWA:TNA shows in the past fortnight.

I came up with a really bad gimmick poster
rising up out of the back seat-nuh replied to a topic in General Chat
We ought to have a gimmick race to 1000, with everybody creating a new gimmick and trying to be the first to get to 1000 posts withough whoring or trolling. Who's with me! -
Hey, I use that fact every day!

So you responded to this thread JUST to up your post count? What's next, a "post party thread" for your 1000th post? Wow, how intriguing. Smell the suspense! *sniff* Well someones not getting invited

181. Goldberg only eats the brown m&m's. Steiner eats 'em all!

This is the worst thread of all time. You're lucky I'm trying to get to 1000 posts otherwise I wouldn't even reply. And then it would be even worse. Because I rock. Yes.

174. Last year, when Steiner and Goldberg were free agents, WWE signed Scott first. Why? Because he is BLATANTLY greater then Billy.

Seriously, are you illiterate or just stupid? There's no way "sea animals" would have survived. Fish can drown too. NOTHING could have survived a flood like that. Even the Bible says so. And with that much water coming down, do you really think that birds could FLY? Do you know how much feathers weigh when they're wet? More. Much more. Over 300% more, in fact. And given that the rain lasted for days, do you think that the birds could've been flying the ENTIRE time? How about insects? Hell, one of every insect in the world would fill up the entire ark - but not for long. Some insects die in less than a day. So was the ark a giant entomological orgy as well? I know this has been put to bed, but from my palaeontological background I can say that the flood, as described in the bible, would not nesecarily have caused the extinction of birds and insects. The flood would have caused a vast amount of driftwood, etc, causing small islands for birds and insects to settle on. The carcasses of land animals would have been enough for them to survive on for 40 days. Also, the massive influx of fresh water would not neccesarily cause all sea life to die. Sea water is layered in its salinity, i.e different depths have different salinities. I think it becomes more saline with depth, but I might be wrong.Over a period of time, which for obvious reasons it impossible to calculate, different saline levels would re-emerge, and as a result it would be possible for animals to live in a different saline level. In addition the rainfall would cause the mixing of sea waters from different depths causing saline-rich brines to be released into the surface water. The real question is whether animals would be able to rapidly adapt to these cataclysmically new conditions for such a short period of time. But thats a question for a zoologist. Any takers. P.S., I am aware of the irony of a palaeontologist argueing for the possibility of Noah's flood.

144. Scott is a cooler name than Bill

134. BERG is blatantly named after half of Goldberg's name. Don't see a poster called ENER spamming round here do you? Thats cause Steiner fans > Goldberg fans.

For me, France is somewhere to go during the day if I'm horny and I wanna see sexy women. Viva La France!

133. Steiner has one of the coolest wrestling moves named after him. Has Goldberg? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
