France: Hamas, Islamic Jihad not terror groups
rising up out of the back seat-nuh replied to Spaceman Spiff's topic in Current Events
Will you shut up. You say the same damn thing in every thread about anti-Semitism, you get slapped around like a redheaded stepchild by the same damn people, you back down, and then you bring it up in yet ANOTHER thread, as if you think everyone's forgotten the last twenty times you made the same specious and feckless comparison. There is no significant organised grass-roots movement to kill or persecute black people in the United States today. Our law enforcement agencies fully investigate all individual incidents. The same cannot be said of France and its Jews. I don't back down, I just get reminded that you can't argue a point for more than a few posts without resorting to either links of questionable legitimacy or insults. That said, you are still probably the post poster in this folder to be debate with. Okay then, if you're in denial about the higher levels of American Government being inherrently racist (despite all evidence to the contrary), then what about in Britain? The Metropolitan police has been shown to treat black people different to white people, there have been race riots in the last few years, and the NF is gaining in popularity throughout the country. You could change France and Jews for Britain and Blacks in some of those quotes. Would you say, then, that Britain should be treated the same as France in that respect? -

I would be interested to see where DeputyHawk lives in Scotland. If its in a big city like Edinborough or Glasgow, he's more likely to encounter the typical rich, arrogant, obnoxious tourist than someone who lives in a smaller town. I live in Portsmouth, and we got a lot of bad American tourists. However, if you go to somewhere like Calais, you're more likely to meet the nicer American tourists, and the English are the bastards.

I'd only watch if Darius was on it. It's a British thing...

Touché -
It certainly does. Campaigning against all kinds of prejudice is understandable, if whiny, childish, and pathetic. Campaigning only against the kinds of prejudice which offend him personally, while actively engaging in prejudice which he agrees with, is indefensible. No, because you're arguing against his bringing up these points, as opposed to the points themselves. Yes, you can't say that Americans are narrow minded while dismissing all Americans as obnoxious and loud. However, the points he made are as valid as if they were made by someone who loves Americans.

To be fair, so could do the same kind of thing for America (or indeed Britain) and anti-black sentiments. It still doesn't reflect on the country as a whole. And to the person who asked earlier, France has a large Muslim population mainly due to the fact that they used to have many Muslim colonies, such as Morrocco. -
Well somebody must've been in there to take the picture. And that person must have cared enough to have recorded the occasion. Well done TMIW. I think that one of your posts was complimenting me. That makes me a happy panda.

Why? -
Marney, just because he posted that doesn't make his point any less valid. Although while some of those comments were in bad taste, I don't think anyone was truly offended by them. I mean, I'm not offended by Jay's comments about the English being obnoxious lager louts...

It's a testament to your skills that you have the second most posts out of everyone who registered here this year. Who has the most? Spoiler (Highlight to Read): < -
I managed to get a good copy off Soulseek first time. But, as previously stated, check the file size. Movies are usually at least 600 MB.

Both Tupac and B.I.G. have a touch of Kurt Cobain syndrome going on. They've become matyrs for a new generation.

Yes. Different from good...

Does anyone know if there's truth to the rumour that The Neptunes wrote a load of tracks for Michael Jackson, but after falling out with him, gave them to Justin (inc. Rock Your Body and Like I Love You)?

That's like saying you need the Popes help to become a Jew...

Like I said, I have no problem with people liking what they want. All that matters is whether you feel it or not. Hell, half the stuff I listen to to relax would be too hectic for most.

How about "The Kid"? Dunno where I got that from... -
I have no problem with anyone liking Robbie Williams or Good Charlotte, but you have to understand that they really aren't that good musically, lyrically or stylistically. On any level. Ever. In the history of music.

No. Eagan had his posting powers taken away for an extended period of time. So sooner or later that ban will be lifted. No, I mean that if Eagan has been suspended, shouldn't he be prevented from coming back under a different name.
-
Are you saying I don't really like music ? No, I'm just saying that most people who think Robbie Williams is even remotely special have a limited taste in music.
-
Fooster delivers, and I am converted. It's a shame that stuff like Lift, Big Ideas, a studio version of True Love Waits, a studio version of the original Motion Picture Soundtrack, Big Boots or Climbing Up The Ladder will likely never be released. One of the main reasons that Radiohead have such critical acclaim, and such a strong fan base, is that most of their b-sides are better than many bands full albums. The day that Coldplay start doing this they can go up on that pedestal too.
-
That's not well rounded. That's just stupid. Stupid ? How is it stupid ? I happen to like most types of music due to being more tolerable than most people who go 'GOOD CHARLOTTE ARE SHIT !!!!!' It's stupid because Good Charlotte is bad. They can't even play their watered-down version of bubblegum punk well. Punk is just timing. Good Charlotte has no timing. Their lyrics are insipid -- I was unfortunate enough to hear their new single today; girls like boys, just not spoiled assholes that think they're BIG PUNK RAWK STARZ. They claim Waldorf to look more urban when half of them grew up twenty minutes from where I live. Though to be honest, I'm glad they do, because the less they associate themselves with my home, the happier I'll be. And Benji looks like a fucking clown with all that damn makeup on. Good Charlotte is bad. K. First off, I'd just like to state that I meant that first statement as a semi-joke, as a rip-off of a Family Guy quote. However, as Mr. K just said, Good Charlotte really aren't that good. People don't dislike the because everyone else does, they dislike them because they suck. And Robbie Williams is quite possibly the worst musician this millenium. Aside from the fact that he's an arrogant, egotistical, yet blatantly insecure, twat, his music is almost all bland, vacuous shit. It's music for people who don't really like music. And his voice is weeker than a drag queen. He murdered some of the greatest songs in the world, and thought he sounded like one of the greats! Dick. Sum 41 and Metallica are hardly the best bands in the world either (sorry but Metallica are deeply over-rated, especially based on the last 10 years, and Sum 41 will never be as good as their videos or production values). There is a big difference between listening to diverse styles of music, and listening to good bands.
