Is this the first generation where Music...

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore as Pete and Dud. Not music, but satisfyingly sweary. IMHO it seems that being sweary is now the norm. Kids listen to Slipknot/ Limp Bizkit/ Eminem and their ilk (or at least used to), and as such Rap and Metal became mainstream. Look at Ozzy. The guys become a worldwide hero. And his catchphrase is fuck. As people have said, saying fuck is passe. For me theres a difference in the use of swearing in rock. For example, if you're saying fuck to be controversial (like limp bizkit or slipknot have) then its pointless. However if you're using fuck as an expressionistic word, to express feelings no other words can or using it as part of your everyday language, just like any other coloquialism, its cool. I think theres a shift now towards bands consciously not using swear words not because of comercialism but because constantly saying fuck is embarassing. Look at At The Drive-In's Relationship Of Command album. Its angry, heavy, intelligent. And no swearing. To all those complaining about Modern Rock Radio, we've offically become overground. Avril Lavigne and Pink are the new Britney and Christina. Shit happens. It happened to metal a few years back, and it's gonna happen to rap in a few years time. Move onto something new (for example punk or electroclash) or wait a few years and it'll be back to normal. Oh and in answer to the original question, the early fifties saw the tuning down of black rock music for a white audience. Also the early to mid seventies (pre-punk) saw a decrese in radicalism in music in many forms in backlash to the drug fuelled experimentation of the late sixties. I believe these both count as periods of toning down in music -
I could handle Linkin Park if the rapping dude had some sort of flow. As it is, it doesn't hold a candle to good rap or good metal. To The End was pretty swank tho. PS, How can anyone not love the Libertines. They had a fight onstage last year (after all their stuff broke down), they talk like they're in a Carry On film and their last song had the line "Wombles bleed" in it. FUCKING A!

Series two box set is pretty cool (we've got it in the UK). Having an all night marathon of SP rocks!

Military = Face. Despite the fact that major military action is over for the time being. And that pro-american faces are heels everywhere outside the states (and very fucking annoying) If done right, it could give a nice face push to a new or deserving wrestler. My vote, however, is for Hogan, Luger or Duggan. -

HHH is right, giving the belt to Goldberg would be a dumb idea. A guy who's yet to wrestle in WWE and has already started a fight shouldn't be a lock-on for the belt. I say Hunter turns face to join the Kliq so he can't take on face Goldberg. -
100 Reasons Why the Big Bossman...

And to keep the fun going: 201) Bossman has won more WWE gold than Goldberg, and is therefore better. 202) Bossman has swank hair, like all great men. Goldberg only has crap facial hair, like all great tramps. -
"INTERPOL, ELECTRIC SIX, THE LIBERTINES, PRIMAL SCREAM and this week's NME cover stars HOT HOT HEAT are the latest additions to this year's THE CARLING WEEKEND: READING AND LEEDS festivals" Thats cool. I love the Libertines, and I've wanted to see PS since i missed them in 2000. For me, the best acts are usually on the undercard. The White Stripes, Libertines, Aphex Twin, Peaches, Vines, The Parkinsons, The Mouldy Peaches and (hell yeah) the mighty IKARA COLT were what made reading memorable last year, not the strokes, foos or prodigy (cool as they all are) Anyway, I should be going to Glastonbury too, so sod it

They need to get a stable of Shawns students like Spanky and American Dragon together ASAP. Having said that, i could see Kendrick being the next 123 kid. I thought thats where they were going with him v Angle a short while back. -
Yay, the smark darling of womens wrestling has arrived. I give her 2 weeks before she gets injured.
-
I can see hardy/spanky being on the pre-show heat. They've got too many other feuds (womens, FBI/Taker, Benoit/Rhyno (either as a match or going towards splitting them up), Nawinski/Steiner) to put a random match on the card. Thats just plain dumb booking If thats the case, then heat will officially be better than Backlash. Yay!

130. When Bossman got a wannabe, it was Bull Buchanon. When Bill got one, it was Gillberg. -
I could see him coming back with Rhyno if and when he turns.

I hink that Austin will be kept around for the same reasons as Jeff: he's over and sells merchandise. I don't expect Austin to do any real work for his money now. He's made for life, he can earn big bucks, get the crowd chanting his name AND never take annother bump in his life. Good for him, bad for Raw. -
2 words: Mae Young Not TECHNICALLY a botched move, but sick none the less.
