I know this is about the best albums to listen to first, but: BOOOO! Those are my two favorite Floyd albums...

That wont be happening for annother decade at least. Most could never reach 100,000 in their lifetime. Only a select few post whores will ever get close...

The Singles > The Queen Is Dead. That album never clicked for me for some reason...

Queen are definately best served by the "best of" albums. If you post your favorite songs off them, I might be able to help, but A Night At The Opera is the critics favorite, while Queen II, A Kind Of Magic, Sheer Heart Attack and Innuendo have their fans too. Floyd: Under NO circumstances get the best of album. Wish you were here and Dark Side Of The Moon are your best bets, but Meddle, Animals and Piper At The Gates Of Dawn get good love too. The Smiths: Get a best of if possible. as they were a consistant singles band, and a good compilation will glue together like any great album. If you want a studio release, try The Queen Is Dead, which is considered their best by most. REM: Get Automatic For The People first. It distills everything there is to love about this band in one album. From there, try Document, Out Of Time or anything with a song you like on it. The rest I don't know well enough to comment...
