    Curt Hennig vs Randy Savage..

I'm not overlooking that, I just don't care. It might be different if I was getting in the ring with Savage but, speaking as an observer, Savage was a better performer than Hennig by far - whether the matches were planned or not. The long list of Savage's awesome performances far surpasses such a list from Hennig. Granted, Hennig lost some years to injury.

    Curt Hennig vs Randy Savage..

About 6 or 7 years too late!

    Curt Hennig vs Randy Savage..

Randy Savage. Hennig was pretty awesome but didn't have Savage's charisma, ability to get people into his match, ability to draw heat, consistent track record of having great matches with so many people, etc. Savage was such a convincing preformer at his peaks (1985-1989, 1991-1992, 1995) and had an intensity level that is so far beyond Hennig. And I'm not knocking Hennig because I'm a big fan of his. Now if we're comparing their early work, they were both good. Savage was a great heal in the his territory and in Memphis. Hennig was very good in the AWA (particularly his last year there).

    Brian Pillman's Jump to ECW

How do you come to that conclusion? WCW was pretty nurtuting for self-destructive lifestyles in the 90's. His life probaby would have ended the same way.

    Horror Update

OT: I'm thinking of naming my first born Dario Argento Houle He would keep my last name but have an Italian first name which would please my mother's side of the family very much!

    Horror Update

Is the first Argento episode ever gonna make it to DVD?
  8. I only went to one autograph signing and it wasn't a crazy story. Macho Man (my favorite wrestler from 1985-1992) did an autograph signing at a mall in NH in 1991. It was cool to see him up close and personal.

Fuckin Awesome. I loved Scorpio at the time and I remember this video well!
  11. I don't believe the steroid scandal had anything to do with Flair-Hogan not happening at Mania.

    Superman Returns

But you thought Batman Begins was better, even though they totally betrayed Batman's character by Batman not helping R'as off the train? I don't think that compromises the Batman character at all. Superman's character is compromised in a few different ways in SUPERMAN RETURNS however!

    Superman Returns

And now that I've read the review, I have to say Ebert was pretty close to the mark with his review.

    Superman Returns

The movie was OK. Some parts I really liked (Routh was OK, Spacey, Posey, the airplane scene, the Donner "feel"). Some parts I didn't like (Lois Lane, the kid, the costume, the dragged out time). The main problem is that the Superman shows very little emotion here; he does have so little dialogue. He is pretty boring...and I love the character of Superman! I loved him in the first two movies; Reeve and Donner and the script made him work! A nice try but they fell short. See it in Imax if you're going to see it at all!

Best match you saw in person

Keep in mind I haven't been to see wrestling (outside of some piddly independent stuff) in over ten years. I'll go with Steiners-Anderson/Eaton from a WCW house show in 1992.

    The Old School questions thread

I don't know but I have to say something. Savage became my favorite wrestler in 1985 when I first saw him and remained in that spot until I drifted away from wrestling in the 90's. And that Macho King era was the worst time period for the Macho Man!

    The Old School questions thread

I don't know if this is the story you're thinking of but I know Lawler knocks Raven in the book for getting out of losing by pinfall but Raven says in his shoot interview that it wasn't his idea.

    RVD vs. Shelton at Backlash

I'm looking forward to the match!

Hogan (as Mr. America) pinned Piper at Judgment Day 2003 I believe. As good a match as you can imagine.

    Backlash Main Event announced...

Granted I would have preferred that the kick wasn't weak but I don't think Trish's leg collapsing because of all the abuse followed by a strong chick kick to the head is a bad finish.

Botched spot it may have been but it actually made sense in the context of the match despite the fact that it may not have "supposed" to happen.

    Backlash Main Event announced...

Back to Backlash! The main event should be really good. At least it breaks up the expected main events of the two pot-Mania PPVs (HHH-Cena, HHH-Cena HellinaCell). I wonder if there will be any thought put into the undercard... Who's left?

    Backlash Main Event announced...

The top five workers in the WWE are the five guys that can have believable-looking matches, work with a variety of opponents, get the crowd involved, have personality/physical charisma that connects with the crowd, and can do all these things consistently. They are probably HHH, Angle, Michaels, and Benoit. The last guy would have been Eddy or Jericho a year ago. Now, I'm not so sure. I'd probably put Misterio and Edge in the top ten in any event. Finlay doesn't meet some of these requirements. Granted, to honestly know who these five would be we'd have to bein the ring with all of them but as an outsider looking in, my guesses are probably pretty close.

    Backlash Main Event announced...

You are quite wrong. The top five would probably have HHH, Michaels, Angle, and Benoit in it. Not sure who #5 would be. Definitely not Finlay. Can't even imagine what people would base that on. And MNM? Come on! A very good team but let's give them some more time first please.
