You have no idea what you are talking about... Of course a 4pm cable show is going to look poor in comparison to a prime time show. You have your ratings and your share. While the ratings are based on total number of people who could be watching TV, the share rating, which is more accurate in this situation, because its based on how many people are ACTUALLY watching TV at that time slot, and how many of those are watching that show. I have no idea what the share rating is for TNA, but a .3 on a cable show that is on a channel not in a basic programming package is about average from what I know Its more so that people only watch about 10-15 channels in general out of the 150+ that people get through cable and satellite providers.

That's correct, but there is not requirement saying that broadcasters MUST broadcast in 16x9 and 720p/1080i either. For example, PBS is going to be using the additional bandwidth to multiplex 4 different television stations during the day, and then switching to 1 station in True HDTV during Prime Time. Also, your standard cable stations are broadcasted over cable or satellite, which has your built in converter, so they have nothing to worry about... they can broadcast in 4x3 with reruns as long as they want, and then purchase HDTV Programming as they go and mix it in with SD programming In a lot of major markets, like Detroit for example, ABC multiplexes a SD broadcast of camera from the renaissance center which is seen on Action News a lot, and then the other is a weather radar. They are not doing anything with it now, but they are able to. The current issue though is if cable companies are required to carry all channels that a broadcaster multiplexes due to Must Carry laws. There is already an agreement to carry all 4 PBS stations, but not from ABC, NBC or CBS. Neilsen tracks anything you want them to... the catch is that it costs money for them to track your ratings. You don't see ratings for community access stations because it costs too much money for them to do. I would think it's possible that due to low HDTV viewership that many stations decide to not have their ratings calculated so it doesn't look bad to advertisers. But who knows, that's all my speculation The FCC keeps giving dates and pushing them back. They recently said 2009 due to broadcasters not being able to convert in time. A lot of people are saying that it does look more likely they will reach their goal in 2009. It's not your big markets like NY, LA that are not keeping up with changing over to HDTV broadcasts, it's the smaller markets... DirecTV is launching something like... two Satellites this year, and another two next year for HDTV progamming I believe (mainly locals). Lets see if I can remember.... I believe it's something like 85% of any given market must be able to view Advanced TV signals. Keep in mind... i did not say HDTV programming. Want to know what congress considers Advanced TV? If you have Cable or Satellite, you are considered being able to get advanced TV. Because even if you do not have an HDTV, and lets say your local ABC only broadcasts in HDTV, your satellite/cable company's receiver/cablebox will be able to convert that signal to watch on your analogue TV. The FCC doesn't care if you are viewing true HDTV on an HDTV set, just that you are SOMEHOW able to watch your local broadcast channels on your television set, either with a DTV tuner, or a Converter Box. Plasmas have such a short life span too of only like... 4-5 years I think. And the problem with burn in and playing video games turns me off to a plasma screen anyway.

Then there is the whole "is the money to prodce an HDTV broadcast worth it at this point?" factor... my guess is no. Last time I saw an SD and HD live broadcast for Football they used two sets of cameras at the same time for both Standard Definition and High Definition. How can you do that with so many camera people located around the ring? Also... little fun fact. Broadcasters are not required to broadcast in 16x9 when they go to HD too. Though yeah, a lot of broadcasters do go with bother the widescreen aspect ration and better resolution, they don't have to. I bring it up mainly because I saw nothing about aspect ratio in that press release.

Satellite Video-On-Demand is just a second satellite input line going into your receiver, secretly recording programming to a hard drive built into it, and then charging you to play those videos back. Dish Network should be offering it to new customers in March, but it will require a special receiver to do so. Now the next qestion is... if they are going to record the programming to the harddrive on the customers side, the programming for VOD content almost has to be on it's own channel which normal customers can't access. Add in the people who are able to pirate satellite television and view that channel, with the ability to capture the signal to their computer, and I see a wealth of VOD content on the internet as soon as this service picks up. People come from all around the world for Wrestlemania. While it's sure to draw a lot of Chicago fans, it will also bring the hardcore wrestling fans as it is

Well, from a logical standpoint, wouldn't they want the weaker man to be in the chamber match? I mean, if Shelton was better than HHH and could beat HHH, then why would they want Shelton in the match instead of HHH? Especially since they will be isolated in the Chamber with no Flair runins possible,
-
That's pending credit scoring, i.e., you don't owe DirecTV or Comcast $400

The No DQ/Street Fight match is a noticable one missing Survivor Series Elimination Match is not on there as well If they are going to throw the Blindfold match on there might as well add the 'one arm tied behind opponents back' match. Guantlet match is missing... especially since they have done that Tag team version of it a few times, but I forget the name they gave it.

I am watching Armageddon now... how come barely anybody has mentioned that the title fucking spins? What the hell?!?! The title belt is not a custom rim for your car.... And for those that have no idea what I'm talking about, the center plate actually spins around in a circle

USA is affiliated with NBC which is affiliated with Bravo and Bravo is in HD right now until Dec 1 when it becomes Universal HD which will have all sorts of stuff in HD. FX is obviously owned by Fox and it wouldn't surprise me if FX had a HD channel in the near future. I might be wrong here, but Fox doesn't even broadcast in HDTV right now. All of their shows that are in "HDTV" are actually widescreen broadcasted in 480P. The only reason I could see the WWE going to HDTV would be for DVD releases, but Blu-Ray is a long ways away, and Spike TV won't be going to HD anytime sooner than they are required to due to lack of original programing which could be shot in HD and the abundance of old SD (standard definition) reruns. HD DVDs - impracticale on the current DVD format Spike TV going HD - Unlikely HD PPVs - Possible, but also not likely It can't hurt to have the progamming in HD if they dumb it down for broadcast... it would pay off in the future when they go to resell stuff we already have in HD. Though them switching to another channel is also likely Edit: Fuck... just found the press release: "The system is fully upgradeable, allowing customers like WWE to purchase the Alchemist Platinum Ph.C for standard-definition (SD) conversion and easily adapt it to accommodate HD feeds at a later date." Just what I was talking about.

It would have been nice if even the midcarder guys got their finishers in on HHH, but I think that is asking for too much.

Wait... if the only weapon legal in the match was the chain, how the hell did they get away with using a chair?
-
I see lots of planning went into this...

Talk about people reading into things too much... They will probably introduce all 3 people, then the winner is announced, tag title match, then Main Event World Title Match

A RAW pre game show? sounds interesting... I wonder what they would air head-to-head with RAW and Smackdown when it's live though.
-
Do you think there are fans of only one brand?

I thought Linda said that there would not be any Raw vs. Smackdown matches until Wrestlemania -
