Well so much for the 49ers surprise run at a playoff spot. They'll need to run the table now to have a shot.

The Harris Poll release is being delayed until Fox's selection show so doesn't look like we'll get any leaked BCS rankings like the last few weeks.
  6. As I mentioned last week I'm going out of town for Thanksgiving. After Tuesday night I probably won't have internet access until Saturday night. So because of that Hawk 34 will help run the contest while I'm gone. So here's how things will work this week: -All picks for this week must sent by private message to Hawk 34. Do not post your picks in the thread and do not send your picks to me. -Once both players from a match-up have sent their picks to Hawk he will post them in the thread. -There will be a total of 20 games to pick from over the next two weeks. For this first week there will be 13 games and next Sunday I will post the final 7 games to make picks for plus the tiebreaker questions. I'm skipping the Thanksgiving game but there are three Friday games to pick for. I would strongly suggest everyone try to get their picks in by Wednesday night so they don't forget over the holiday. Week 13 Deadline -Friday, November 24th, Noon EST/9:00 AM PST Week 13 Match-ups Western Atlantic Conference Championship #1 Miami (Spaceman Spiff, 8-4) vs. #2 Georgia Tech (iggymcfly, 9-3) - GAME OF THE WEEK Southeastern Seven Championship #5 South Carolina (Cuban Linx, 9-3) vs. #10 Kentucky (Danville Wrestling, 7-5) Pac-8 Championship #8 Oregon (nogoodnick, 8-4) vs. USC (Cartman, 7-5) Big MAC Championship #9 Minnesota (Vern Gagne, 7-5) vs. Kent State (JHawk, 6-6) Big 8 Championship Texas (UTBroward, 6-6) vs. Oklahoma (Vampiro69, 6-6) Week 13 Games to Make Picks For (first 13) FRIDAY Texas A&M at Texas LSU at Arkansas Oregon at Oregon State SATURDAY South Carolina at Clemson Mississippi State at Mississippi Oklahoma at Oklahoma State SMU at Rice Georgia Tech at Georgia Arizona State at Arizona East Carolina at N.C. Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 13

Bowl Match-ups Pepsi Blue Bored Bowl: #1 Miami (Spaceman Spiff) vs. #2 Georgia Tech (iggymcfly) Traditional Bowl presented by the Yellow Submarine: #8 Minnesota (Vern Gagne) vs. USC (Cartman) TheSWF.com Dust Bowl: #5 South Carolina (Cuban Linx) vs. Oklahoma (Vampiro69) Williams Games SinisTar Bowl: #7 Stanford (Bored) vs. Kentucky (Danville Wrestling) Out Magazine Bowl: #3 Syracuse (CanadianChris) vs. #4 Virginia (Edwin MacPhisto) KFC PETA Bowl: #6 Hawaii (Will Scarlet) vs. #9 Oregon (nogoodnick) Meow Mix Pussy Bowl: Tennessee (Sex Machine Gun) vs. San Jose State (kkktookmybabyaway) Ex-Lax Toilet Bowl: #10 UCLA (phoenixrising) vs. Florida (Urban Warfare) FireJoeMorgan.com Bowl: Arizona State (Spicy McHaggis) vs. LSU (teke184) Short explanation and I'll answer questions tommorrow if there are any. Both UTBroward and JHawk were out of consideration as they needed to win their title games to get to a bowl. So the Big MAC had just one bowl eligible team and the Big 8 had just two while the Pac-8 ended up with seven. Because of that Lando Griffin and The Last Samurai with 6-6 records ended being the snubs as I couldn't place them in a bowl without having a match-up of two teams from the same conference.

Bored's College Football Pick 'Em - Week 13

To build drama for the final rankings I'll go in reverse order for 10 thru 4. Final Bored Championship Series Rankings 10. UCLA - phoenixrising 16.00 9. Oregon - nogoodnick 13.25 8. Minnesota - Vern Gagne 10.1 7. Stanford - Bored 9.15 6. Hawaii - Will Scarlet 8.65 5. South Carolina - Cuban Linx 8.3 4. Virginia - Edwin MacPhisto 6.5 And now for the Top 3 and the Bored Bowl match-up. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Pepsi Blue Bored Bowl #1 Miami - Spaceman Spiff 5.35 vs. . . . . . . . . . . . . . #2 Georgia Tech - iggymcfly 5.85 3. Syracuse - CanadianChris 6.1 As expected Spiff's lead going into the final week was too much to overcome although he came closer to losing the #1 spot than I expected. What I was hinting at earlier was iggy needed to get two out of the last three games right or otherwise he would have dropped to #3 even with the win. So yes like in real life Jesus will weep as we get a rematch (or a trimatch) in the championship game. Rest of the bowl match-ups will be up shortly.

Probably Oklahoma State. Technically four. There's the tacked on BCS Title Game and then the Texas, PapaJohns.com, and New Mexico Bowl. The Texas Bowl is considered new even though it's played in the same location as the defunct Houston Bowl because it's financed by someone else.

See Rutgers is a good example of why the bowl system in general needs an overhaul. If they win in overtime they go to a BCS bowl and a $14+ million payout to play a 10+ win team. If they lose in overtime they are heading to the Texas Bowl and a $750k payout to play a 6 win team. Does that make any sense at all?

I fairly certain Smues just made typo. That is the potential silver lining and really the resolution I was hoping for all along but I have serious doubts Florida is going to jump Michigan. Besides there's still plenty of time for Arkansas to make it a ball game. Also on the brightside of things I still had no desire to see the tradtional Rose Bowl match-up in a game that wasn't the Rose Bowl almost as much as not wanting to see a rematch game. Pat White is not playing in the Rutgers/West Virginia game.

No. At age 25 he had already had two Cy Young's and a World Series MVP but three straight years where he through over 250 innings took it's toll on his arm as he would only throw enough innings three more times in his career to qualify for the ERA title. Certainly a great "What If?" case if he could have stayed healthy. When he was healthy he pitched like a HOF but didn't pitch enough to warrant consideration.

Stanford is completely outplaying Cal so far today. They have 35 plays from scrimmage to Cal's 12 and the Bears have just 33 yards of total offense. What's the score you ask? 3-3. God dammit.
