Hey schedule better oponents. Oh wait. I did, because I'm an idiot and wish to remain winless for as long as possible, so that when I do get a victory, the person I beat will feel deep shame and contemplate suicide. And I was the one you beat last year when you managed to miss only one game. Bastard.
-
After last year's Texas/OSU game, USC/Notre Dame, and the Rose Bowl all lived up to the hype I think law of averages will set in this year and we'll have some let downs in big games. Hell the most fun I've had watching a game so far this year was the 4th quarter of the Akron/N.C. State game. But still time for this time be exciting.
-
Because god forbid ABC, oh sorry ESPN on ABC, do pointless celebrity interviews during the half hour halftime when it would far less intrusive.
-
Air Force goes for the win instead of overtime and fails, 31-30 Tennessee.
-
One day in the future the quarterback will never be able to be hit with any force.
-
Touchdown FSU with under two minutes to go. Oh well.
-
Stanford blows a 34-14 lead and loses to San Jose State 35-34. Helllllllllllooooo 0-12 season. The Pac-10 is 20 million kinds of awful this year.
-
Touchdown Troy, 17-10 with 11:21 left in the 4th.
-
I love the Sportsline ticker because the screen doesn't have to refresh for the scores to update. Only problem with it though is when games go to overtime for some bizarre reason it only shows a game as "final" after the first score in overtime and then often doesn't update the score after that. Oh and ESPN2 reallllllly needs to dump this debacle and flip on Troy/FSU for bonus coverage. Still tied 10-10 in the 4th and Troy in FSU territory.
-
Why aren't they switching to Clemson/BC? And they don't even show the winning touchdown. What a joke.
-
The "This will be a blowout eventually but still an interesting score at the moment": Troy 3, Florida State 0; 4:38 2nd And Syracuse shows why they are Syracuse. Seven plays at the goaline, no touchdown. Wow.
-
There's already been one upset in the MAC today, Ohio goes on the road and beats conference favorite Northern Illinois 35-23.
-
Judging by last week's performance against Pitt and the first three quarters against Wyoming, you are probably better off not seeing a UVA game all year. That Drew Stanton as a sleeper Heisman candidate is done as after struggling against Idaho last week (who's getting pummeled by Wazzu at the moment, so much for my "maybe they'll be a factor in the WAC this year" comment) the Spartans are now struggling against Eastern Michigan, up just 24-20 in the 3rd.
-
I-AA uprising continues...New Hampshire crushes Northwestern 34-17.
-
Damn Getsy had that touchdown but he dropped to the ground too early. They're going for it with three seconds...TOUCHDOWN AKRON!!!
-
Hey rare bonus coverage on ESPN2 as they abandon Rutgers fucking the corpse of the Illinois football program for Akron/N.C. State.

I realized that I haven't done a single entry on the NFL out of the first 90. That mainly has to do with that the NFL doesn't interest me nearly as much as it used too. And a lot of that has to do with the current state of my San Francisco 49ers. It's tough to get too inerested when you're force fed your terrible team every Sunday in which I can't typically make it through an entire a game before changing the channel. When your team is this bad there's no point in paying much attention to other scores as every other game is inconsequential when your team has no shot at the playoffs. So I decided I'll every once a while during the season come up with some total random list of useless NFL facts and useless facts is the true heart of this blog. So this week, since it is Week 1, I give you the Week 1 results of every eventual Super Bowl champion. Before the list here are a few useless facts to throw out. -Eventual Super Bowl champions are 33-6-1 overall in Week 1. -1981 49ers were the first eventual Super Bowl champ to lose their Week 1 game. -Of the six teams who have defeated the eventual Super Bowl champ in Week 1, none of them made the playoffs. -Only once has the eventual Super Bowl champion played the defending Super Bowl champion, 1976 when the Raiders beat the Steelers. -For three straights from 2001-2003 the eventual Super Bowl champion lost it's Week 1 game, matching the total number of times the eventual Super Bowl champ had lost the previous 35 years. 1966 Packers 24, Colts 3 1967 Packers 17, Lions 17 tie 1968 Jets 20, Chiefs 19 1969 Chiefs 27, Chargers 9 1970 Colts 16, Chargers 14 1971 Cowboys 49, Bills 37 1972 Dolphins 20, Chiefs 10 1973 Dolphins 21, 49ers 13 1974 Steelers 30, Colts 0 1975 Steelers 37, Chargers 0 1976 Raiders 31, Steelers 28 1977 Cowboys 16, Vikings 10 1978 Steelers 28, Bills 17 1979 Steelers 16, Patriots 13 1980 Raiders 27, Chiefs 14 1981 Lions 24, 49ers 17 1982 Redskins 37, Eagles 34 1983 Raiders 20, Bengals 10 1984 49ers 30, Lions 27 1985 Bears 38, Bucs 28 1986 Cowboys 31, Giants 28 1987 Redskins 34, Eagles 24 1988 49ers 34, Saints 33 1989 49ers 30, Colts 24 1990 Giants 27, Eagles 20 1991 Redskins 45, Lions 0 1992 Cowboys 23, Redskins 10 1993 Redskins 35, Cowboys 16 1994 49ers 44, Raiders 14 1995 Cowboys 35, Giants 0 1996 Packers 34, Bucs 3 1997 Broncos 19, Chiefs 3 1998 Broncos 27, Patriots 21 1999 Rams 27, Ravens 10 2000 Ravens 16, Steelers 0 2001 Bengals 23, Patriots 17 2002 Saints 26, Bucs 20 2003 Bills 31, Patriots 0 2004 Patriots 27, Colts 24 2005 Steelers 34, Titans 7
