I kind of agree. I'd rather they have a number one contender spot on the line, and maybe have the champ defend against the Royal Rumble winner at No Way Out. Though maybe that would be too much big stuff crammed into one show, since they will be having two elimination chamber matches already.

Savage was indeed an awful commentator. I loved the guy in the ring, but it was clear even to me as a young mark that he had no clue what he was talking about half the time. A lot of times he'd outright lie to play up the company...like I remember one time he claimed "There are at least 10 tag teams out there right now I could name who could take the belts!" This was during the time when they had the Smoking Gunns and M.O.M. and that was basically it.

Why does this new proposal have to include hundreds of millions for contraceptives? Fucking Nancy Pelosi.

I enjoyed the show. All of the matches were at least solid, top to bottom, and I really enjoyed this year's Rumble in particular. I liked how they got the athletic guys in first, and then slowly built to having Big Show clear things out at the end. I called Orton winning, and was happy if unsurprised when he did.

Yeah...I'd stay away from a "no name brand" like that, unless you just have 600 bucks to blow and don't care what you're getting. Better to save up and spend a couple hundred more to at least get something you've heard of, I'd think.

I hope at least you can't fight Andre the same way you would fight Bret Hart or something.

The GLF posts are really funny, but what's with calling them "pro wrestling fighters?" Is that some ROH fanboy thing?

I had thought I had heard The Simpsons would never go HD because of how long the series has been going with all of the standard def episodes already out there. Guess not. I think the main point of cartoon shows going to HD is that they look nicer on HD sets which are becoming more prevalent in American households. Kind of stating the obvious there with that one, I guess. As far as the actual show, there's still enough decent episodes each season, but what I really get sick of is how it seems like there's at least two or three "fantasy" episodes every season, not even counting the Treehouse of Horror episode. You'd think with all the established characters in the show, they could still come up with some decent storylines without doing parodies and stuff. I frankly don't go out of my way to even record the episodes anymore, because I figure I'll catch them in syndication eventually.

I won't go into all the points since I largely agree with what's been said, but I think WWF really missed the mark when Mero came back with the "Marvelous" Marc gimmick. I thought he looked like he had strong potential to be an upper mid-card act, at least. He had a good look at that point that played off his legit fighting background, which I think most fans were aware of. I also liked the gimmick he had going with Jacqueline, kind of taunting Sable at the same time. Too bad he got injured.

Wow. If anything, he should have been given a World Title shot for beating up that loser. Here's one I've maybe asked about before...my memory is really vague on this, but I remember on an episode of WCW Saturday Night around '92 or '93, some heel went off on some profanity laced tirade (censored of course). The next week, Tony Schiavone (I think) said the guy was banned from TBS programming for the time being. Does anyone know who this was? I wanna say it was maybe Dallas Page or someone like that, but I can't be sure. I just remember being kind of shocked by that as a kid.

I'd think he could do a match if it's a simple brawl type of thing where he's relatively protected. Of course, that might make for a pretty big downer of a match if he can't take even some simple bumps.

I'll always say that where WWF really screwed up with Show, was when he came in, he actually came off like a legit giant. He was portrayed as someone that even Austin couldn't man handle. I remember Austin tried to irish whip him one time on RAW, and Show didn't even budge an inch. Then he quickly reverted to being just another heavyweight in the ring who happened to be a little bit taller than everyone else. Pretty soon he was doing the usual punch and kick brawls around the arena that were a staple of the main event scene at the time. If they had kept him as a special type that actually wrestled like a giant, I think he would be scene as more of a threat still today.

Any chance Kennedy will be returning tonight, or is he still hurt or something? Also, as far as the title shot thing, I liked the idea someone had a while ago where the winner would get a title shot at No Way Out, so that they could still go whatever direction they wanted for Wrestlemania. Would also make the Rumble winner less predictable.

I didn't know Rick Scaia was even still around.

Yeah...it seems plausible that Vince really did hate the movie, but saw all the positive attention it's been getting, so he decided WWE should try to glom onto that. Which is kind of funny because my understanding of the movie (haven't had a chance to see it yet) is that it doesn't exactly paint the wrestling industry in a great light.

I really hope Triple H doesn't win. He doesn't need it, having won back in '02, and they can still easily have him get a title match at 'Mania in any number of different ways. To be honest, I wish they would just take a chance and let an upper level mid card guy win, since it seems like an established main eventer has always been winning for the last several years. I mean, yeah, Mysterio winning was kind of a surprise, but he was basically already a main eventer at that point and quite popular, so it's not like they were taking a huge risk there.

On the topic of Mike Jackson, Scott Keith mentioned in one of his recent 24/7 reviews that it seemed like they were protecting him for whatever reason. Maybe they planned to push him eventually, and it just never materialized?

Also, what do folks think about Obama's proposed stimulus package? Just seems like he's doing another Bush tactic...and repeating one that didn't seem to do much anyway. How the hell are we going to pay for this anyway?

Boy, here's to hoping that the gameplay in this is actually good.

Oh gosh, sorry man. One of my employees accidentally downloaded that same virus onto our work computer (I think through Myspace or something dumb like that), and it got really nasty...couldn't even get on the internet without this thing popping up. Basically made it impossible for us to do any work related stuff, and of course we didn't want to risk further security issues. Really insidious piece of spyware. I'm usually pretty good at getting these things out when they do come up, but this one was basically impossible to remove myself. We ended up calling the Geek Squad and having them remove it remotely, which I think cost in the neighborhood of about 100 bucks. But at least the computer was in good shape after that. I remember they had me boot the computer in safe mode, and I think they were able to remove it that way...so maybe you could try that (looks like you did already). But otherwise, you might have to take it to a professional to get it resolved.

I just dread the thought of buying a brand new TV and if something is wrong with it, having basically no recourse to get it fixed other than going through the manufacturer.

Yeah, I don't know. The basic idea of an income tax is unfair anyway. Trying to pretend their are ways to make it more fair for everyone is kind of disingenuous.
