snuffbox, there must be something in the water over in the People's Republic that makes you so blind to all the reasons that have already been brought up. The number one issue I've brought up, time and agin, which gets completely IGNORED over and over...is that it's not just Mexicans coming across that border. There's been evidence presented that Arabs and others are coming across the as well. You mentioned national security as a real concern. Do you think it's just good honest folk looking for work, who are coming across the Rio Grande? What about drug trafficking? Yeah, I think our government wastes too much money on the War on Drugs as well, but do we need to make it easier for drug runners to get into the US? I have nothing against Mexican people coming here to work. I certainly don't have any interest in picking beans or trimming people's hedges. However, our government has every right to know why foreign people are here, and who they are. I am no racist, as much as you would like to paint me as one. Yes, our country has been built by immigration. By and large, though, it was legal, controlled immigration. Why should we abandon that system now? What about the people who actually live in towns affected by immigration? I know we're supposed to be accepting of everyone and not risk offending people, but there have been plenty of news stories about illegal immigrants creating strains on medical and educational resources. My wife actually worked recently at a high school in a town that has seen a huge increase in the Hispanic population. This same school is seeing a large increase in Hispanic gang activity. But, I guess the fact that I'm pointing this out makes me a jingoistic racist, and I'll no doubt be digging out my Klansman robes for a cross burning, any minute now. Yes, all schools have to deal with gang violence to some degree, but you can't ignore the correlation completely. It's a real problem for many communities.

OK, snuffbox, let's turn the tables here for just a minute. Why are you so seemingly in favor of illegal immigration? Don't you see any negative consequences of it at all?

I do agree with KOAB that Lashley has been doing a lot of impressive stuff in the ring lately. I'd like to see him show off a little more of his amateur wrestling background to further round out his in-ring repetoire, but he probably doesn't have the right opponent for that right now.

It's hilarious how much attention they pay to the division where only one team is above .500 right now in the AL.

Well, looks like the Brewers have figured out how to win again. They beat the Dodgers 9-5 last night. Prince Fielder hit two homers. Rickie Weeks is back and went 4-for-5 as well. Oh, and for fun, here are the current NL home run standings (everyone with more than 10): Prince Fielder - 14 JJ Hardy - 14 Chipper Jones - 12 Barry Bonds - 11 Adam Dunn - 11 Aramis Ramirez - 11

The problem is that it is unregulated and unchecked. I don't have a problem with Mexican people doing manual labor here. The problem is that there's no good system right now tracking them. FWIW, I think the new proposed bill could work. I don't like all of it, but at least it's something, rather than what we have now.

Does anyone know if Meltzer has said anything about RVD yet? You'd think he would have picked up on these rumors by now.

Guys, it makes perfect sense. It's been stated and made obvious that Dunder-Mifflin is a fairly troubled company that is in transition. It makes sense to bring in someone young with new ideas in a situation like that, not just promote another drone who happens to have a few years under the belt.

snuffbox, you need to drop the whole "Yeah, let's get rid of the non-whites" thing. That's not what this debate is about and you damn well know it.
-
My guess is that they're keeping her to train the divas, plus she doesn't seem to mind putting less talented people over.
-
I agree. Orton is the only choice right now for a feud with Cena that makes any sense. What has Snitsky done to warrant a main even program? He's not over, plain and simple, while Orton is going to have a bunch of heat from this HBK angle.

I liked Josta.

I never knew McDonald's sold pizza. Was it any good?

I don't know. Maybe drills like this have their place in today's schools.
-
Yeah, Val Venis and Viscera probably shouldn't answer the phone today.

Some crap about "ROCKET RELAUNCH" and pitch by pitch coverage of Clemens' minor league start.
-
Who the hell is that/
-
Yeah, Scotty has been like a modern Tito Santana...the somewhat over and recognizable guy who can work and make other people look good.
-
I bet some stuff will come out about Ariel being unpopular or having an attitude problem. That's the only way this makes sense.
-
Thorn will get cut, or jobbed out and then fired. His gimmick isn't strong enough to stand on its own. Hell, at the rate they're going with ECW cuts and firings, they may as well rename ECW "Tuesday Night Extreme" and make it the RAW and Smackdown b-show, or something.

You're nuts, this week's was much better and more funny than the beach episode, which I found to be a little lacking to be honest.

No, it's not that. Speaking from the Houston perspective, it's more because the Rangers, being in the AL and not having been much good throughout their history, haven't been on the radar of Houston sports fans, well, ever. Thus, unlike in football, where Houston fans are jealous of the Cowboys because they've actually won something in their history, there's no real reason for either fanbase to get fired up towards the other. As far as they're concerned, the other team is just the other Texas team in that other league. Well, except Drayton McLane. He thinks winning the silver boot means something. But he's the only one. Even the players say that the silver boot means nothing to them. Here's my second question. As a long distance Cubs fan, exempt from the socioeconomic implications and bragging rights of the crosstown series, how much do these games with the White Sox mean to you? But you're the same guy that said interleague is inherently more exciting, so why do we need a brawl to make them mean more? They're already so great. So which is it? They are great, but a brawl would make people like you care about them.
-
They need to clear out some of the dead weight on the RAW roster.
-
That sucks that they released Ariel. She was one of the few "divas" who was somewhat unique.
-
I think we're due for an interleague bench clearing brawl. That would make the games mean more.
