For all the people talking about his writings, and why no one did anything after seeing them...chances are, they legally couldn't. Unless he made a direct threat against someone, there would have been nothing to act on. I know, my wife is a former high school English teacher.

We should take a lesson from France. Their population is now roughly ten percent Arab Muslim. Their situation will not get better. My statement, though, was more in how they find time to criticize us at every crisis, tell other European nations to "shut up", and easily forget about their own problems...like how only a few thousand people died in France during a heat wave a couple years ago.

Speaking of the media outlets, it's pretty disgusting how they can barely hide their excitement when an event like this occurs anymore.

OK, thanks for clarifying. I don't know...I think we take for granted that the rest of the world does have violent instances similar to this happening on a regular basis. We have it pretty easy in America when it comes to this sort of thing.

My understanding is that he didn't even announce himself or anything. He just walked in and started shooting. Sounds like there was basically zero time for anyone to react.

No, there's no way I think students on a college campus should be allowed to carry guns. In theory, there should be enough security to protect people from incidents like this. I remember being in college, and one RA I knew said her biggest fear with her job would be some drunk student she had written up pulling a gun and shooting her. I don't think it was an invalid fear.
