What happened now?
-
Ivory still wrestles on the indys, IIRC. Just curious...anyone have any recent pics of Molly? I haven't seen her since her shoot DVD came out.
-
Boogeyman doesn't bother me too much. Over the top and downright stupid gimmicks have always had their place in wrestling. I just don't get where they're going with the character, though. They can only have him do his schtick so many times before it gets old. Now he has his own "little person". I guess he's the Doink of 2007.

It's not so much making the kid feel "special", it's letting them think that the world revolves around them that's the problem.
-
Well, HD would definitely make me more likely to watch those things, so it seems like a smart move. The only question is how many TV stations they can get to air them in HD instead of SD.

I do think that, while stats are useful, people can be over obsessive about them. There's some things in a player that can't be quantified with any stat. For example, Bill Hall is probably one of the best players on the Brewers right now, especially because of his versatility. I don't think there's a "versatility" stat, though.

OK, I have a really odd request, but I'm trying to help a friend out. I'm looking for a video or at least a good screen capture of an '80s WWF low carder/jobber named Jim Evans. I know he was on shows like WWF Superstars and Challenge many times. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks in advance.

Doesn't sound so bad now, does it?

You know damn well what I meant by cell phones and Myspace. Kids don't know how to interact socially anymore. Everything is done instantaneously and online, or people are glued to their phones constantly. I mean, I know this is a stretch, but I watched one of those "Wife Swap" shows before RAW last night. The "new" mom took away the daughter's cell phone, and she literally broke down in tears. It was like she couldn't function anymore. That's the kind of stuff I'm talking about. That, and there's a lot of stupid parents out there.

Well, the Rock isn't coming back, and I'm not holding my breath for Austin to wrestle again. I would love for Wrestlemania to be the end of the Mr. McMahon on-air character. I wonder if Vince will ever decide to "hang it up", though. He's such an ego-maniac, by all accounts. At the same time, he's seemingly done doing any wrestling matches, and he's getting older. He's a grandfather now. Maybe he's thinking of slowing it down a little sooner than later.

Nope. Can't see them doing away with JR, though I personally wouldn't mind. I think Cole is the best announcer in the biz at this point.
-
I don't think they'll turn Cena, but what they could do, is: Their next title defense, Cena cleans house on the heels, points to HBK, makes the tag...but holds onto HBK, pulls him onto his shoulders, and FUs him in the center of the ring, then walks out of the ring. Not that hard.
-
Well, it hasn't happened yet. I'm still hoping it won't.
-
Well, to be fair, that was her idea, wasn't it?
-
She probably got out at the right time, before WWE could job her out or turn her into a complete joke.
-
There's also an MMA group on one of the HD channels (HDNet, I think). I forget what it's called. WWE would be better served working with an existing group, rather than starting their own, if they have any serious interest in MMA.

I don't know if I ever did it in college, but I know in high school I'd sometimes make up one or two extra sources to pad things out if I had only found one or two good ones to use for a research paper.

Well, narcissism is troubling. One thing I notice is that people younger than me sometimes seem to be socially stunted. They don't know how to interact socially on a mature level. I do wonder how all the cell phones and websites and such will affect today's teens as they become adults. Oh, I'm sorry, I mean...let's have mandatory beatings for college students! Wooooo!

I hope you're being sarcastic. You do realise that this line of thought is what keeps us in Iraq. Because our leaders are too stubborn to admit when they're wrong and change their mind and oh - God forbid - be a flip flopper, we suffer. EDIT: I see what you mean though about campaigning anyway. Oh and @Jerk: The direct quote says to me that right now and at this point in time a religous leader is needed, not the general sweeping statement you interpret it as. I'm not talking about war strategy. I'm talking about an election platform. They're two completely different things.

Eh, Trinity looks fine by WWE standards, though she's getting a little older. She should definitely be managing someone higher up than Little Guido, though. Maybe stick her with a heel in ECW like Test or something.
-
With all the bouncing around they do with their roster now, a draft lottery would be pretty pointless. I mean, all three champions appear regularly on all three shows, the Hardyz and MNM have feuded across all three programs, and Khali and Daivari have appeared on all of them this year. Those are just a few examples I can think of off the top of my head. They should just drop the pretense of having separate "brands" all together.
-
Yeah, WCW didn't leave the NWA permanently until right before Hogan came in.
-
Instead of Steve Austin, the special guest referee should be Brutus Beefcake.
-
Well, they certainly put the state above any god. I don't think people thought of Hitler or Mussolini as good Christian men or anything.
