Well, over the 20th century Americans were conditioned to believe that faith in leadership was a good thing, since the godless fascists and communists were the enemy.

I think all this talk of a strong cruiserweight division is hot air. We'll see how much of a reality is in about six months or so.

I really hated "grunge" when it came around in the early '90s. I didn't get Nirvana, and I got so sick of hearing the same Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, and Alice in Chains hits non-stop. All of the slurred vocal hooks and droning guitar riffs bored me. I can respect Nirvana now, and enjoy some of their music. The rest I can pretty much do without.

I really don't understand why 1080p wasn't made a standard HD format from day one. All you ever heard was "Well, 1080i is better for stills and such, but 720p is better for sports or fast action." It never clicked earlier that the two could be combined somehow?

Yeah, can't we just have a candidate who picks a set of beliefs and a solid platform, without waffling back and forth or giving vague answers? I'd be more apt to vote for someone who could clearly state their platform, even if I didn't agree 100% with them.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was a Russo ploy to try to regain fan interest, by having the title change hands on a weekly basis.

Well, I think more than that is the fact people are sick of how Bush has been clearly more motivated by transparent political purposes and neo-con philosophy than any religious influences, despite what he says.

I think pretty much everyone knows to take anything on Wikipedia with a huge grain of salt, so I don't see what the big deal is. Yeah, someone wrote something blatantly false about someone...it's not that hard to change it. I don't think you can write a research paper at most colleges and site Wikipedia as a source, can you?

I think this is lazy booking at it's finest and is going to make the match a complete trainwreck. "Hey we have nothing for all of our upper card guys since we're focus all of our attention on the main event matches of each brand how about we throw them all in a Money in the Bank Match?"... Edge, Booker T, Punk are in with Orton, Kennedy and Jeff Hardy strongly rumored. That leaves two spots one SD! and probably one more ECW. Benoit, MVP or Finlay will likely be the SD! representative with Holly or Snitsky being the ECW rep. Where's the OMG!!Workrate!! match this Wrestlemania? Chavo vs Helms, maybe?

They'd rather keep him than job him than let him go to TNA. I know. He should say that. He should say "If I'm not over, than job me. But I am over, so it's time to face facts and build me up towards the main event. You aren't going to let me go to TNA."
-
Yes, but he should defend himself and tell it like it is, to there faces. I don't understand why pro-wrestlers put up with so much backstage shit. He should say "Look, I'm over, the crowds love me, and I can make this company money. If you don't like me, fire me now, because I'm not going to play the backstage politics crap. If you wanna can me so I can go to TNA and win the NWA World Title, fine."

I think part of the issue is that WWE was hinting at Austin/Hogan for a long time, and now that some super mega main event like that doesn't appear to be in place, people are somewhat disappointed.

I guess the only thing I don't get is the insane rush to buy a system when it firsts comes out, and there's only a handful of games to pick from (most of which usually aren't all that stellar). Why not wait 6-12 months and keep playing you're "outdated" PS2 or Xbox or whatever?

I'm glad to hear it's getting good reviews, and that they seem to be promoting it well. I was worried this would be like other comedy shows turned into movies (MST3K, Kids in the Hall) that get almost zero promotion and are ignored, despite being entertaining.
-
People, the two wrestlers in the match don't even really matter. This angle is all about Trump and Vince. Get over it.
-
It's easy to do when you're the booker. Woooosh. That's the sound of things flying over your head. What are you talking about? I thought it was Russo's awesome MMA background that helped him gain the victory over Goldberg.
-
Why can't TNA just hire someone to do more halfway decent themes like WWE? Although to be fair, their music seems to have been getting better over the past 6-12 months or so.

Directv has had the "Road to Wrestlemania Package" now for the past 2 or 3 years. This year it was $99 which is a pretty nice savings off of the $120 it would cost to order NYR, RR and NWO seperately. See, why not do more stuff like that? Give your best customers a little bit of a break.
-
That's totally awesome. The guy who wrote that should do consumer report shows on TV or something.
-
I've always wondered if WWE would be better served to offer discounts or deals. Maybe for, say $299.95 per year, you get all 16 PPVs or something like that.

To me, most '70s wrestling is pretty miserably boring. There's a few exceptions, but overall it's an extremely slow paced style.
-
Yeah, the Quebecers were actually pretty over during that time period, considering the WWF tag team division was sort of on the decline at that point.
-
Lashley defends the title every week so he can get built up for Mania and prove that he is worthy of being a world champion I realize that. Maybe they could play up that he's the "defending champion who will take on anyone, anytime", sort of like Bret Hart in the mid '90s.
-
My worry is they're going to take Lashley down the same generic "babyface rebel feuding with Vince" ala Stone Cold that they've done with Cena.

Eh...Backlund and Sammartino would give some validation to the HoF, since it would make it clear this isn't just "the Hulkamania era and beyond" being honored. Vince doesn't need them, though. I mean, I doubt we've ever going to see a "Best of Bob Backlund" or "Bruno Sammartino's Greatest Matches" DVD. Dean Malenko should be inducted. He at least had a somewhat decent WWF Light Heavyweight Title reign, and held numerous titles in WCW. He was also a member of the Horsemen, the original Triple Threat in ECW, and one of the Radicalz (pretty significant moment in the Monday Night Wars). That should be enough to get him inducted. Plus, being that he's an agent and clearly loyal to WWE doesn't hurt.
