WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
Dobbs 3K replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Black Blood was Billy Jack Haynes, wasn't it? -
No one's stopping you.

Has there been any explanation offered by the police so far about this?
-
But realistically, would that solution end the attacks on Israel, or would Hamas and others just say "OK, we have this, now let's take the rest?" I think it's being disingenuous to pretend the proposed Palestinian state is what the majority of the Palestinians actually want.

I'd be worried about the Cubs OF defense right now, if I was inclined to be concerned about that team right now. Big topic amongst Brewers fans right now is "Whither Ben Sheets?" It didn't sound like he wanted to come back to Milwaukee after the end of this past season, but if Melvin decides to make him an offer, he might not have a choice. It doesn't sound like hardly any teams are interested in him at all (probably due to all the recent injuries), and I would assume that if he was going to the Rangers, it would be done by now. I'm not a huge fan of the guy at this point, but the Brewers may as well make him an offer, as long as it's not for an insane amount of money. It's been interesting to see how many guys who would have been snapped up in the past are just sitting out there with hardly any buzz right now as far as rumors. Adam Dunn would be a prime example. Guy isn't even 30 years old, should be good for about 40 home runs, and it sounds like his signing options are extremely limited.

Yeah, it was because Nord in particular would make that howling sound when he was in the ring. Song choice still didn't make sense, though. I thought Nasty Boys coming out to "Nasty" was pretty hilarious.

That still leaves two unconnected masses separated by Israeli territory.

Will people really be able to tell the difference?
-
Yeah, nice to see the Crew finally do something to add to the team. Not that exciting, but at least they don't have to go into spring training and have a "closer competition" or something.

Well, I still don't get how a Palestinian nation would actually exist...it would be a small non-contiguous region...assuming it's just the West Bank and Gaza Strip. How would they actually be expected to develop infrastructure and develop as a country? Just seems like a pipe dream at this point, unless you were going to carve another "strip" of land out from the other surrounding countries to connect the two areas, or something.

Well, there was already a sizable Jewish population in Palestine prior to 1948 anyway, so it's not like they just completely imported a new population after the UN declared the Jewish homeland. Heard a story Israel was now getting rocket fire from the north, so they're now fighting a two front war again. Maybe it's time to end the failed Palestinian "nation" experiment, and force all of them to emigrate to other countries.

Yeah, they're fun. It's nice getting there and not having to worry about spending extra cash on food and stuff. Shop around and you can find good deals, usually.

Got my guy to level 14. Being able to headshot super mutants and kill them with one bullet is pretty satisfying, after how tough they are earlier in the game.

All Arabs must be the same to you, right? What does 20 other Arab nations have to do with Palestinians? Palestinians are distinct than Egyptians, Syrians, Jordanians, etc. The Palestinian people don't even have a country. Like a previous poster mentioned, it's not the fact that Israel has a country that bothers them, it's the location. I believe Uganda was one option that the UN considered in the 1940s to establish the Jewish state. I bet you Israel would live in peace today if the country ended up there. Have you ever actually read about that plan? It wasn't an option in the '40s...it was discussed long before that. It was completely unrealistic, and never got into serious talks. Also, where would all the poor Ugandan people have gone to? People today would be complaining about the evil Jews killing black people instead of Palestinians. Also, the actual racial differences between Palestinians and other Arabs/Jordanians/Egyptians/etc are extremely minute. Pretending they are a different race is disingenuous. Actually, I think the only reason the other Arab nations want Palestinians to have their own country is because they don't want them in their own. Palestinians are, to my understanding, better educated then people in other Arab countries.

I remember renting this show and watching with a friend, and he kept asking "When are the actual good guys going to come into the Rumble?" Yeah, that was a pretty jobberiffic year for WWF.

It always seems like it's something new...I thought 1080p was the big thing to get, now you have to have not only 1080p, but 120hz. What is next? I really want to make sure my next TV is as future proof as possible (not that there really is such a thing with electronics these days).

I was in kind of that same situation at this Christmas when my parents gave me a CD I wanted and my sister and her finance were going "People still buy CDs?"
-
Yeah, it's definitely a love it or hate it kind of place. You either like the semi-blue collar atmosphere, or hate the lack of stuff that larger metropolitan areas have. I've heard some MLB players say they hate going there because there's not much of a night club scene, etc.

The Twins are operating like the typical Twins, so it's not that surprising. The Brewers are coming off their first playoff appearance in more than a quarter century, and if they don't ensure that they contend again, they'll be pissing all their new found goodwill from the fan base right back down the toilet where the Seligs left it. Part of the problem is that it seems like Milwaukee is still not high on the list of places most guys want to play...a lot of guys like Lowe have absolutely no interest there...Randy Johnson supposedly had some interest, but wanted to stay on the West Coast, etc. Fuentes would be another example. Doug Melvin can only do so much when a seemingly very limited amount of guys will even return his phone calls, I guess.

Yeah, I enjoy the retro games via the Wii store a lot. I have Super Mario Bros., Blades of Steel, and Punch Out! myself. Also downloaded Bomberman Online (meh) and Tetris Party (I think that's what it's called...it's very good anyway). I'm really liking Guitar Hero: World Tour on Wii...it's actually my first time ever playing any of these music games. Does anyone know if there is an add on guitar controller available that has the slider like the one that comes with the game? I'd love to get a second one to play two player in house.

Supposedly the Brewers are talking to Trevor Hoffman and their is "mutual interest". Would be nice to see them do something to improve their bullpen, what with Salomon Torres retiring and all.

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread
Dobbs 3K replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Call me crazy, but I could see them doing Undertaker vs Kozlov. -
Yeah, just not a good one.

I know you're being your usual snarky Christian hating self here, but what the hell was the point of this comment?

It certainly set him a part, but in storyline terms it only would have made sense to do that with him for so long. I mean, when is the last time any WWF wrestler had that time of entrance (who wasn't a jobber)? I think Bob Backlund way back around 1993 or so?
