Today on a local radio show, they were talking with Steve Czaban, a sports guy out of Washington DC, and he was reading from this hilarious article about all the incorrect predictions football commentators made over this past season. Of note was ESPN the Magazine incorrectly predicting the Super Bowl winner over the last four years or so...in fact, none of the teams they picked even made the playoffs.

Well, "Islamofacsism" is a popular term with at least one conservative radio host.

Yeah, I'm sure a Congressional resolution is at the top of a soldier's daily worry list, when they're risking life and limb. It could be an isolated example, but I spoke with a soldier I'm acquainted with a few months ago when he was home on leave, and he said it's tough to stay on top of world events (he hadn't heard about North Korea launching those missiles) when you're in Iraq, so I doubt they are watching C-SPAN religiously.

I believe "Islamic Jihadist" would be more correct than "Islamist Jihadist".
-
That's actually a pretty decent analogy.

NASCAR is transitioning from being a "good ol' boy" sport, to being mainstream entertainment. It makes sense for ESPN to cater to and build that audience.

Deuce & Domino are awesome. I hope they win the belts.

Yeah, I can't believe more people didn't buy an exciting WWE-produced PPV filled with hardcore, extreme action, featuring ECW Extremists like Bobby Lashley and the Big Show!

That's more what I had meant. I had forgotten about the whole lie detector thing, though.

Maybe he has never heard of "Reconstruction".

I do agree the "war on drugs" has been basically a total waste of money, especially going after the marijuana trade. Better to spend that money on education or whatever. Hell, spend it on anything else.

I'm not proposing communist or socialist ideas. I'm proposing America abandon this failed system of "restorative" or "rehabilitative" justice. As America's population continues to grow, it will be inevitable and imperative that we be harsher on criminals.

One point in Joy Division's favor...I saw a recent live performance of New Order on VH1 Classic (one of those British awards shows or somethign) where they did "Love Will Tear Us Apart", and it was rather lame.

That's a bold position you're staking out there, I3K. Well, some posters seemed to be going towards the line of "Well, you got in prison, it's your own fault if you're gang raped and contract HIV." snuffbox, using forced prison labor to construct the Wall could solve multiple problems at once. Heck, if they escape into Mexico, it could be considered a fair trade to boot.

I wish they'd quit playing up abortion as a huge election issue. I really don't care what a candidate's stance on it is, since it's been shown that you can have a very conservative president, and it doesn't effect Roe v. Wade in the least. It's just something the Republicans can pander to the religious right with. "Abortion is murder...of course, if elected, I won't do anything about it, but vote for me!"

I think they did that on purpose to make it one of those "Did he or didn't he do it on purpose?" type things. I liked the special overall, as I hadn't seen most of those matches, but I think ideally it should've been a 2 hour live or pre-taped show with all new matches, highlighting the current stuff going on. Also, the show seemed to highlight Christian Cage a _lot_. I hope that's a sign of things to come (well, he is the World Champion), and not just someone at TNA not paying attention.

I'm not in favor of anal rape, I'm in favor of allowing the guards to shoot the rapists if they catch them doing it.

Stories like the one in the first post are good reasons why this country needs to replace prisons with work camps, and allow more executions.

I wish more people would call the Republican party on their flat out hypocrisy, comparing the Clinton years to today. It's really completely hilarious and insane at the same time. They used to be the ones saying "We can support our troops and criticize the war", now if someone does it they're "giving aid and comfort to the enemy".

I think it's hilarious that people think the terrorists are really following our electoral process that closely. Heck, most foreign people, period, don't understand our election process at all (not saying it's their fault...we have a somewhat confusing sytem).

Not a lot of action in last night's episode. Plot twist at the end was interesting (and I think at least somewhat historically accurate).

It's Hillary Clinton. Do you expect anything else? She'll basically say anything to any group in order to be elected president.

I like my entry, even if it's short.

And yet I can sleep fine at night.
