Yeah...when Sheik beat Backlund, it was basically dead set that Hogan was going to beat Sheik for the title soon afterwards. From what I recall, Backlund left WWF because he didn't want to turn heel.

As an aside, I thought the new actor playing Octavian was good, though I did like the younger one a lot.
-
Yeah, I've seen the commercials for those and can't understand who'd feel good buying them, other than speculators or something.
-
Exactly. It's funny too, how many times both WCW and WWF at various points decided they didn't need Flair anymore, but then asked him to come back when business was down.
-
Undertaker will announce he's going to face all three men in a Hell in the Cell handicap match. OK, probably not. But if would fit his character.

I can't say anything bad about the Saturn because I bought one brand new when it was basically a dead system for only $75 or so. Fire Pro 6 Man Scramble fun!
-
Yeah, this was definitely one of the weaker episodes in a while, but still had enough funny moments to hold my interest. I did find the segments with the stripper to be amusing. "Is she hot?" "Text back...'kind of."
-
Last couple episodes have been pretty dark...Vorenus finding his children was at least good, in that that part of the story is somewhat wrapped up now. I hope they're off the rape and male-on-male sex kick that they've been on in the last couple episodes.

Have your friends actually seen anyone in their late 70s? Flair is in pretty darn good shape for being in his 50s. Most people can only dream of being in his shape at that age.
-
What? But I thought "The soldiers want to stay until the job is done"?!
-
Race was a pretty good manager for Vader, too. Not that Vader needed the help, but Race was one of the few managers who you could actually buy kicking the babyface's ass outside the ring while Vader took a breather and distracted the ref.

Maybe you're right, but don't you think most Americans would like to see us out of there any way possible, at this point?
-
I didn't seriously mean that. I just wish we could cut our losses and leave. I'm sick of seeing our troops killed over there for these people.
-
Bobby, I agree with you to a point. Like I said, I'm not opposing this increase of a couple dollars. I just get tired of hearing how tough it is for some people to get by on that. Yeah, I'm sure it is tough to get by on that...you're not supposed to, though. If someone is middle aged and making minimum wage, it's probably due to them making poor choices or not applying themselves enough. Yes, I understand some people have mental or physical handicaps and deserve our help, but if you're a perfectly able-bodied 45 year old making $5.50 an hour or whatever, you've made some bad decisions in your life, and the hand-wringing should end there.
-
Because black people can't be racist, even against other black people!
-
Eh...I would argue that no one is intended to live on the minimum wage. Those jobs are for high schoolers and people working part time for some extra cash (old people, etc). I'm not necessarily against raising it a couple bucks, but I don't buy that it should be over $10 either.

Wasn't this war supposed to pay for itself? Maybe we're being too nice...maybe we really should have colonized Iraq and taken their oil. At least we wouldn't have a huge debt, and we'd be just as hated either way.
-
What does it matter? If our government doesn't want to do anything about it, it is meaningless.
-
I guess...I just can't see people getting that excited about dirt on Duke Droese and Aldo Montoya.
-
It's nice that a veteran like Brett Favre can come back and play for the same team, unlike some stars in other sports who hold up the same two or three teams for months. *cough* Clemens *cough*

Eh...it seemed like you walked into any game store, and they would have PS2 stuff out the wazoo, and the Dreamcast stuff would be tucked away in a back corner. Seems like the retailers just decided they wanted to push the Sony stuff more, for whatever reason.
-
Like anyone cares about stuff that happened in WWF's down period 12 years ago anyway, at this point.
-
Some of you missed the point. Pam is clearly uncomfortable with Jim's relationship, so she's trying to force herself to be all buddy-buddy with him to cover it up.

I enjoyed last night's show, especially the end where Simon found out the last guy had trained to sing using Randy and Paula's DVD. Also, what was with the people begging and pleading to get through? That first girl might've had an actual shot if she hadn't fallen on her knees and come across as a melodramatic loser. Also, the old man who made it on was maybe the most depressing story ever...though it was nice that they let him perform. Oh yeah...maybe next time they have a celebrity judge on, make sure they have more of a personality than Olivia Newton-John. I think she might've said five complete sentences the whole time.

I don't think he was being racist, but it was an extremely bad choice of words. I don't see how anyone could be a politician in 2007 and not think a little bit more about what they're saying, especially when the media is going to jump all over you if you slip up just once.
