I do think a lot of people in the media do want to see as many setbacks as possible, because the worse it gets, the worse the President looks. That said, I don't think NBC is actively rooting for the US to lose.

From what I had heard, the whole "Trish is a lesbian" thing started because her and Lillian Garcia always traveled together. People started talking, so Trish and Lillian walked around holding each other's hands and stuff just to play into the joke.

LOL...a Bruiser Brody-type wave of violence could do Eugene a world of good, really. Have him come out through the crowd, throwing chairs around, beat the hell out of his opponent, etc. Give him a new outfit and he'd be good to go. Personally, I think they should have him go all violent, then have him go after Jeff Hardy, because he wants to win the Intercontinental Champion so he can be like his hero, Jeff Jarrett. The match happens, Jeff Hardy completely underestimates him, and Eugene ends up winning with some new finisher or something, after avoiding the swanton and all of Jeff's patented maneuvers. Then, he gets on the mic, and totally in a different voice says "Hahaha! You all underestimated my genius! My name is Nick Dinsmore! The Eugene you knew is dead! Now I am the Intercontinental Champion! And Matt...that sandwhich you ate for dinner...was poisoned! MWUHAHAHAHA!" (Scene cuts to Matt Hardy suddenly gagging and passing out backstage).

Yeah, but you can play a regular DVD in a Blu-Ray or HD-DVD player, right?

Yeah, Flair got remarried like last year. There were photos on the 'net of them getting married on a beach. Hurricane and Triple H were in attendance. I forget his current wife's name, but it's not Beth.

Whatever happened to Mero anyway? I remember he had a short stint in TNA, going back to his Johnny B. Badd name...this was in the FSN days.

snuffbox, those are good points. My favorite part of the Cheney/Edwards debate was Edwards bringing up something about Cheney's lesbian daughter, and Cheney simply answered "I'd like to thank Mr. Edwards for his kind words about my family," and left it at that. I don't like Dick Cheney, but you have to give him credit for rising above on that point.

Well, that would be something interesting at least.

I guess even if you have really low expectations of the WWE's fans, I can't see them booing a guy for being retarded.

Yeah, I don't get where I come into this argument either. I just meant with Obama, I found it slightly annoying that people were already talking about him running for President when he had just won the Senate seat. Citing Lincoln isn't a fair argument, because people knew where he stood on the issues, from the Douglas debates as noted. I'm sure I can research it and find out, but I don't really know Obama's stands on major issues at this point. I didn't say I wouldn't vote for him if he runs for President. Bringing up the Cheney/Edwards debate is interesting, though. I personally think Cheney came out looking better, but I suppose a lot of people disagree with that assessment.

Yeah, we saw how bad Vince felt after Pillman died, then Owen, then Eddie...

That's a terrible name for a group. It's also hard to spell. Can't wait to see gothy looking kids holding up signs saying "Saratonen Rulz!" and such at Impact tapings!

It was on an episode of RAW. It was the match where the Spirit Squad beat them so Duggan and Eugene couldn't be a tag team anymore, and then Eugene freaked out and attacked Duggan with the 2x4.

They should just "trade" Jim Ross to Smackdown for Michael Cole if they want a pretty boy type on RAW.
-
Yeah, it's the same cutesy "fart joke" level crap WWE likes to do these days, like bringing out Big Dick Johnson to dance in front of Bischoff, even though the crowd is silent for it.

Yeah...I think turning him heel is probably a good idea, it's just been horribly executed. I agree that he shouldn't be acting "retarded" anymore. The worst heel turns are the ones that shouldn't happen (like the Sting and Goldberg examples cited above), but Eugene clearly has run his course as a face...he had a long time ago. I've wished for a long time Eugene would get the treatment the Spirit Squad got on RAW this past Monday. I really hate him...he's been like a castrated donkey ever since Triple H buried him in that cage match, "broke" his arm, and then he was out like two weeks later acting basically the same.

I agree with Downhome on this one. If anything, it's giving Kip and BG something interesting to do. Maybe it will work and get more people watching TNA, maybe it won't. It's too early to judge.

I don't even see that as nitpicking because it does look bad. I was at the doctors today and they have a 42" LCD so people can watch TV while they wait. And of course the image is streched to fit the whole TV. I asked if they could change it to 736(ESPN HD) and they said they don't have the HD box. However, they do have a digital cable box. And the HD box is the same price as a regular digital cable box is, plus HD is free. So why don't they use the TV for what it should be used as. I just don't get it. You're right, it is kind of dumb, but you do realize you're probably the only single person that's noticed or mentioned it either, right? Yeah, I am probably the only one, which makes it really sad. There aren't going to be anymore HD channels because the public isn't educated on it at all. My sister is getting an HDTV but I'm going to have to do everything for her. She doesn't understand anything. I tried to explain to her the difference between HDDVD/Blu-Ray/DVD and she had no idea. Well, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are extremely new on the consumer market, so most people aren't aware of them yet. I hope you're not telling her she should get a new player right now, given they're expensive and there are few movie titles out yet. I personally don't see any reason to upgrade from DVD right now, and I even have an upconverting DVD player right now. The reason people aren't educated is because the manufacturers, retailers, and networks have not made it easy to understand. People don't give a crap about what 1080 interlaced lines or 16:9 aspect ratios are. They just want to watch their favorite sports team or sitcom with a good picture on a big screen to impress their neighbors. If the powers-that-be would make things simple, you wouldn't have to do all your hand wringing about this stuff.

In other excitement, the Brewers signed Craig Counsell to a 2 year deal worth a reported $6 million. Boy, I'm sure glad they got that big bat they needed!
-
Wow, what a way to go.
-
The question is, when will TNA get really gutsy and have the VKM show up at a WWE show or PPV?
-
Miami is basically the only reason the US still has sanctions against Cuba.

Isn't that what ring rats are for, though?

MNM/Hardyz vs VKM in a shoot fight would definitely be extreme, at least.
