Ah yes, the grainy graphics of In Your House.

I remember that game...it was OK for its time, but the lame thing was that all the wrestlers were the same. Same moves, speed, power, etc. Didn't matter who you picked. No special moves or finishers.
-
OK... I enjoyed the match. It was a good, very solid wrestling match. Five stars? No...probably closer to four, maybe down to three and a half if you're really picky. Very entertaining, and I felt it was a good length. Could've been longer, but that's really just splitting hairs. The pacing was good, there were some cool spots (really liked Joe's enzuigiri when he put Angle on the top rope), and it had "juice" that meant something. Do I think Joe should've gone over? You bet. Does it ruin the feud or ruin Joe to have Angle beat him? Nope. A good match is a good match, regardless of who wins. It's clear TNA is planning on getting some mileage out of this one yet.

OK...I'm watching Joe vs Angle right now, and I'll post further thoughts later...but it's _extremely_ annoying to hear "This is awesome" chants five seconds into the match.

My mom bought a couple of those back in the day, figuring they might be worth something some day. I think they're still collecting dust. We did open one, and it was kind of fun torturing the dog with. I'm glad I've never participated in an insane shopping mob. Sometimes violence is warranted, but not to buy a glorified stuffed animal or video game system.

As for max and his RCA TV he wants to get...you should be fine with that one. It's a rear projection TV...the only downside is typically that they are hard to view with a lot of room glare from windows and other light sources. They also don't have the wide viewing angles of LCD or traditional direct-view CRT sets. Still, if that TV has an integrated HD tuner, it sounds like a bargain. We've had a Mitsubishi 48" HD-ready rear projection for three years and I don't regret it one bit. It's survived one move already and has held up really well. Great picture. Mitsubishi is a little more high end than RCA, but I'm of the opinion that brand names don't matter as much as people think either, as long as the specific set you're buying has all the features that _you_ need.

What's everyone think of all the "no name brand" LCD tvs that are on the market now? Everyone seems to have them in stock now, whether it's Wal-Mart or the big box electronics stores. Conventional wisdom would say to avoid unknown brands, but at the same time, a lot of these flat panels are basically the same thing as the set made my other "known" brands, just with a lower price tag and different name on the front. Of course, it could be bad to bu a set, and then find out a year later when you're having problems with it that the company doesn't exist anymore. That said, a 32" LCD HDTV for about 500-600 bucks is a hard bargain to pass up.

My wife and I were thinking of doing that to get us a laptop, but decided it was still too much money to spend right now.

WCW vs The World: This was the first game I bought with my new Playstation in '97 or so. I really liked it, though it's one of those games that probably hasn't aged well. I liked how Hogan had his nWo outfit, but also the classic red and yellow tights. Also one of the first video games to have a lot of cool dives to the outside and stuff like that. Shame it didn't have any tag team matches, though.

Yeah, it's definitely not a bad time to buy an HDTV right now. We already have a 48" rear pro HDTV in our living room, but I'd like to get an LCD flat panel for our bedroom. Maybe Santa will be nice to me this year. Last year I ended up getting a bunch of stuff for the house, like tools and such. Yeah, that was nice, but I told people I want fun stuff this year.

I thought that movie was pretty hillarious, but I can't see how it will work as a regular TV show.

I'll be working, but I run my own business and it's not a retail store, so I'm guessing things will be pretty quiet. My only memorable story from Black Friday is working at an electronics store a few years ago...a couple other guys had come in a half hour early to get the store ready...of course when I get there, they're in back eating McDonald's. I go out front, and as I'm clocking in, the security guard calls the store to tell me someone is waiting outside. Technically it was a couple minutes before we could even unlock the door, so an amusing argument ensued. I sold the guy a pair of speakers, after he tried to berate me for not opening on time, but I basically shrugged him off. I'm glad I don't work retail anymore.

It's times like that, where I wish I owned a large SUV, like a Hummer or something.

Probably not a huge loss, then. Aren't you the one who's a teacher. And you're playing the OMG UR A FREND OF SOMEONE ON A BOARD I DONT LIKE NOW. Oy. I think I need to bring back the ignore list updates before I'm finally done playing with the toys here. No, I'm not a teacher. I can't think of who you're confusing me with, and I don't care. I don't keep track of who's who on this board all the time like you do. You didn't understand what I meant, either. I was saying that if he kills himself over this news, it's probably not a big loss.

I still hope there's a commentary track with Kane talking like the movie is completely real. Like a kayfabe movie thing.

Don't forget it's a six-minute match too! Yeah...right. He has to "step up his game" 'cause being undefeated for over a year wasn't getting the job done. We're not judging it too soon. Joe should've won the first fuckin' match! Agreed. Putting Angle over Joe wasn't a suicidal booking decision, but I think they'd be better off in the long run if Joe had gone over Angle, even if it was just barely. Either that, or do the ref stoppage/reversal idea that was touted on this forum. Joe jobbing to Angle twice, cleanly, doesn't really do anything.

Probably not a huge loss, then.

I'm curious to see the AWA DVD now. I actually know a local wrestler who was an undercard guy in AWA and WWF, and he was just telling me some interesting things about the Gagnes. Basically said Greg was worse and more bitter than Verne. I'm curious about Crusher, too. Whenever I bring up wrestling with any of my older relatives, everyone loves talking about the guy. He was really well liked here in Wisconsin.

Why would the Superstars of the WWE make a movie about something retarded like professional wrestling??? It would probably be about something stupid like the "belt". I can't tell if you're trolling or just being an idiot.
-
Nothing. That's why I hope they go, personally. You can only see the same guys wrestle the same opponents for so long before it gets boring. RVD should tell Vince to go screw himself. If he doesn't want to go to a warzone, he really shouldn't have to. I think it's great WWE is doing this show in front of the troops, but I hope they're all getting big bonuses or hazard pay to make up for the trip.
-
If they want to make a movie with wrestlers so bad, why not just make a movie about wrestling? Like, give all the guys fictitious characters to portray and go to town.

FOX News planning right-leaning show similar to Daily Show

Democrats, silly. That's the same thing, isn't it? -
Randy is entertaining, but Dwight has that insane dork vibe that a lot of people on the internet identify with, more so than Randy's good hearted retard schtick.

Agreed. Pretentious bitch.
