I think only a couple months. He went to Japan shortly after that, and started teaming with Williams after their feud wrapped up.

That is true...but in the end, if Lebanon is going to become a truly free democracy, the change will have to come from within and not from without. The Lebanese people have to throw out Hezbollah. No one else can really remove them permanently, since they're so entrenched in Lebanese society.

Yeah, that makes sense, and is what I was guessing it was. I couldn't figure out the woman in the blue dress. I guess it's supposed to be an Israeli woman with her child. Frankly, the Arab civilians are so tolerant of the terrorists in their midst, I don't think it's really all that sorrowful if they do get killed. I mean, they let Hezbollah build missile launchers in their homes...what do they expect to happen?

What bothers me is that someone could look at that picture long enough to post it.

What the hell is that?

Her co-anchor seemed thrilled, too.

I was watching CNN a little earlier today, and they said that while Raul tends to be more ruthless and fanatical, he seems to be more in tune with the needs of the Cuban people. He's also known to be less charismatic than his brother, so it remains to be seen how well he could retain power should he officially take over.

Didn't you read the first post?

We opted for digital cable because we wanted to get high speed internet as well, and don't have a phone line (we just use our cell phones).

I always wondered why Bigelow never became more than an upper midcarder in North America (aside from his success in ECW). I mean, he always seemed really over in both WWF and WCW. What happened?

How did they come up with these gimmicks or characters
Dobbs 3K replied to Vern Gagne's topic in General Wrestling
The thing is, everyone talks about how great that gimmick was, but when I was about 12 years old at the time, I really didn't get it at all. He just seemed like this weird guy who was an OK brawler, but that's about it. -
Feuds That Could Have Happened But Never Did
Dobbs 3K replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
Actually, wasn't Roberts supposed to start a feud with Hogan while he was still heel, but the crowds ended up cheering for Roberts, so he was turned face? I could be wrong, but I seem to remember hearing that somewhere. -
And whose fault is it that it ended prematurely?

Chicago requires big-box stores to pay 'living wage'
Dobbs 3K replied to MrRant's topic in Current Events
I just meant that Wal-Mart may in fact have better service than some of the small businesses they have "run out of town." I'm not saying they do or don't. -
Wow! Not just one, but TWO Mike Knox matches! How did you contain your excitement?
-
Hasn't basically been said that WWE has no interest in working with Randy Savage ever again? I would assume so, since Hogan and WWE still work together, and Savage is scare of Hogan (or something).

Exactly. I think what happens in a lot of these small towns where Wal-Mart puts places out of business, is that for years they were the only game in town, got complacent, and then when Wal-Mart came in with better prices or even *gasp* better service, the small business was forced to close because of their own complacency. -
I think it's time for us to move from the phase of history where we tolerated barbarian terrorists threatening civilized democracies, and Israel is moving forward from that. We also need to do away with the countless empty words and broken ceasefires that the Muslims have perpetuated countless times. A ceasefire with murders isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

I never understood why they brought in Mr. T to WCW in the first place. He hadn't really been popular or in the national spotlight for almost ten years. But, yeah, looking back, WCW had a bad habit of putting celebs in wrestling matches...Jay Leno, Dennis Rodman, Kevin Greene, Mongo, Reggie White, David Arquette, etc.

OMG actually got a decent heel push in WCW. He was presented as a key member of the Dungeon of Doom, and was the last man in the ring with Randy Savage when he won the World Title at the World War 3 battle royal. I think he also wrestled Hogan in a Nitro main event, but I could be wrong.
-
To be fair, I don't think Chris wrestled very much. He was too small, but still got into wrestling (either because he idolized his brothers, or Fritz pushed him, or both). I heard he once broke his arm just taking a bump in the ring, that's how weak his bones were. I think your order is correct, though. Although it's interesting that Kerry ended up being the biggest star of the group. Of course, his brother David was supposed to be the one to win the NWA World Title before he died.

Lex Luger beating Hollywood Hulk Hogan on Nitro comes to mind. Personally, I marked out like crazy when it happened, just 'cause it was nice to see the nWo get beat by the babyfaces for a change. Let's face it, Luger wasn't exactly a scrub at that point, either (at least in the way he was booked). Also, to add to the comments about Kerry Von Erich in WWF...I had never seen his other stuff, because my family didn't have cable when he first came to WWF. However, I think they did a good job pushing him as a "young" baby face up & comer type. I also marked out when he beat Mr. Perfect, since Hennig portrayed such a dislikable heel.

I liked last night's show. Plenty of decent wrestling, and no stupid angles. Even the diva search wasn't too bad last night, what with the "almost chair shot" at the end...and it was short to boot. Anyone else think Sylvester Terkay is going to be the next "internet fan boy wet dream", ala Samoa Joe? He looked pretty impressive...though I think he needs to modify his finishing hold a little...it looks like a resthold.

Chicago requires big-box stores to pay 'living wage'
Dobbs 3K replied to MrRant's topic in Current Events
Yeah actually. I made 300 off of CVS pharmacy today. All my other stocks suck though, I don't have Wal Mart stock because it isn't doing that well. I think Wal-Mart will eventually collaspse and something else will take its place. My professor said that Wal-Mart doesn't make that much money but they have a high turn around on what they sell. Also because tjey sell a high volume of stuff they make money. Personally, I don't like shopping at Wal-Mart and I don't go there that much. See, and that's your choice to make. To hear some people tell it, once a Wal-Mart opens up in your town, you're absolutely forced to shop there. -

Uh...tons of companies don't offer their products at Wal-Mart.
