Yes. I have some Challenges from about mid-late 90 and I remember seeing him. It was around the time of Battle Kat, too, I think. Thanks. I couldn't remember if I imagined it or not.

I would add that a lot of WWE's garbage "hardcore" matches of the last five years or so have been pretty business exposing. It's hard to get into a match or find it believable when the garbage can lids and cookie sheets the guys are hitting each other with look like tin foil. Also, any time a referee gets knocked down and lays unconscious for more than 30 seconds or so. At least most of the chair shots you see on TV nowadays generally look good, and are sold like death.

Hmmm...maybe it will be a good show. I just hope they don't end up giving us some skit tonight or down the line about the birth. I really don't want any more flashbacks to Mae Young splayed out on that table.

I'm pretty sure the punch was worked. I'm guessing they wanted to make sure it looked good, and Savage probably didn't care about taking one stiff punch.

Yeah, I remember the "Two Pauls" getting a lot of heat, but don't remember any of their matches or anything. WCW was really weird around that time period.

I thought Nathan Jones had the best "look" for a big man wrestler in a long time. Too bad he was awful in the ring, but he didn't really stick around long enough to improve, either. Oh well...what other wrestler can say they were in a scene opposite Brad Pitt?

That's how I ended up getting the magazine, too.

The whole angle leading up to Steiner wrestling in WWE was weird. Remember how Stephanie and Bischoff were competing to sign him, and it basically was insinuated that Stephanie slept with Steiner in order to sign him?!

Does anyone remember in the WWF circa 1990, a jobber known as "the White Knight?" I swear I remember seeing this guy on more than one occasion.

I haven't seen a lot of Ring of Honor, but the commentary on all the matches I've seen has been incredibly annoying. One guy does an awful Jesse Ventura impression (seems like all indy promotions have that heel announcer trying to do a "tough guy" voice, but it comes off as some pimply college student immitating Ventura), and the other guy creaming his pants about how awesome an opening bout between two guys you've never seen before is, when in actuality it's just two guys doing very basic stuff, or copying stuff they've seen in their puro tape collections.
-
Yeah, you can't seriously consider Ring of Honor's belt to be a world title.

The thing about Fox News though...yeah, their coverage tends to be pro-Bush, etc. But, look at all the other news organizations (CNN, MSNBC, etc)...they tend to be anti-Bush. Couldn't one argue that it balances out in the end?

ddtdigest.com has everything, at least from '96 - '01.

I always liked the masked jobbers WWF and WCW would sometimes have in the early '90s. One of the funniest was a guy in WCW called "The Medic" who wrestled in a medical mask and green scrubs.

When I was 6 years old, I'm sure I didn't know or recognize a single professional athlete or personality. Maybe the San Diego Chicken, but that's about it.

A-Rod would probably be worshiped in any other baseball city in North America, but because the Yankee fans are so damned spoil by the Evil Empire, they boo him for "only" being an All-Star and last year's MVP. His batting average this year is "only" .284 right now, and he "only" has an OPS of .896. He "only" has 21 homers so far. What a bunch of ungrateful bastards. Most fans would kill for a chance to see a player of Rodriguez's caliber on their team. I've never felt like cheering the guy because of his ridiculous contract, but it's not like Steinbrenner can't afford him. I hope the Yankees do something stupid and trade him to another team to appease their retarded fan base, and then he can help that team win a world championship.

Well, I think the concept is that it really is basically a whole new magazine. From the commercials, it looks like WWE is trying to copy Maxim, by making it a general interest magazine with an overall WWE theme, aimed at males 18-34ish.

Ugh...they're charging 40 bucks a pop now?

My understanding is that Guinness actually only has about 100 calories a pint...less than some lite American beers. I enjoy Guiness a lot, but for a really good dark beer, try Kostritzer. It's a fanstastic German "schwarzbier". Neat fact about Guinness...the St. James Gate Brewery where Guinness was originally brewed was bought for 100 pounds, and leased for 9,000 years at only 45 pounds a year.

Ugh...I went to bed thinking the Brewers had the Reds easily in hand, and checked ESPN in the middle of the night to see Turnbow had blown yet another save, and the crew lost by a single rung. Mad me feel sick to my stomach. What is wrong with this guy lately? Geez, give him a break already, Yost.

I've heard Rhodes is booking on Smackdown now too, though I assume there are still other writers and such. I really enjoyed Smackdown last night. The diva search stuff is incredibly time wasting. Who thought to use the same annoying funk riff song for every bitch's 30 seconds of dancing, BTW??? Three and a half minutes of my life I'll never get back. The wrestling was good. I really enjoyed Finlay/Lashley. It had the feel of a 1980s match, but in a good way. Slow paced, and told a story. Lashley really needs to sell more, though. When a guy has been beating on your knee for five minutes, and then you get up and throw him around like a rag doll, that kind of takes away from the match.

Yeah, but I think the show has actually gotten better due to the illnesses/injuries.

IMO, there is too much religious broadcasting on the radio, and I'm saying this as a Christian. Some of those frequencies should be used for other services. Same goes for NPR. I think in my area I can get NPR on at least three or four different frequencies. -
Who really wants to watch video on a small two inch screen anyway, while listening through a little speaker? I've never understood the appeal. Plus, spending all that money each month for the content is idiotic.

Wrestlers with extreme heat and where and why it started?..
Dobbs 3K replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
That's true. It was only until about two years ago when he came back to WWE full time and did that interview on the saturday night show (I forget what it was called...the one where they usually devoted each episode to a different topic...) that he admitted he was in on the whole thing.
