Not that exciting, but we were able to get a new 32" Samsung LCD HDTV (720p) for about $525 yesterday, as a Christmas gift for the in-laws. They badly need a new TV, so they should enjoy this one. Still seems crazy how much these TV sets have come down even in just the last year or so.

So what's the solution? Does a foreign power have to invade and take over Somalia completely for it to discontinue being the wild west of Africa? Aren't they still killing people in Darfur, too?

Maybe states should start passing laws against these sorts of sales, or require that if they are going to attract these kinds of crowds, that they need to have better security and crowd control on hand.

Didn't The Giant do the moonsault onto Power Warrior in Japan during one of those WCW/New Japan shows, or was that just one of those internet wrestling urban legend things?

This seems to be the popular topic from yesterday on every single message board I go to, followed by some hand wringing about how our "society has deteriorated into this madness."

I was just remembering that the other day. Talk about a short and forgettable run. Did he get injured or something? That whole Jericho/Shamrock feud around that time just tanked completely. Funny...whenever I think of Mr. Hughes, I remember PN News coming out and doing a rap that ended with "I don't care if I win, I don't care if I lose, I'm just here to get revenge on Mr. Hughes...yo baby, yo baby, yo." Man, it's been over 15 years and I still remember that for some reason.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Peter Griffin yet. The guy went from being a joe six pack type who wasn't that bright, to being legally retarded.

I call bunk on both of these. Owen had tons of great singles and tag team matches. He was a good seller, and could still pull off the high flying moves even before his death. Pillman was really good in his WCW days. Look at the matches he had with the likes of Liger. I think people do overrate his later period later, when he was actually pretty bad in the ring.

Why would they attack India if it had anything to do with Thanksgiving? Anyway, yeah it sucks, but we have to live with the fact that terrorism worldwide is a reality in the 21st century. Hopefully, someday the average Muslim people will turn against these barbarians, but until then, governments just have to remain vigilant in protecting their citizens.

It would have been a big clusterfuck mess...basically it would have just resulted in Vince buying this new WCW/ECW hybrid instead of just WCW. Maybe the Invasion angle would have started sooner...but probably would have turned out the same. Also, we probably wouldn't have an "ECW brand" today.

I was pretty shocked when Hogan turned heel, but I was marking out too. I mean, the turn did come way out of left field, and I couldn't believe I was seeing Hogan become a bad guy after so many years of playing the superman type of babyface.

I can't imagine that. Luger almost surely would have won...but I don't get where that would have left Lawler and the USWA.

How come they don't do it like in the old No Mercy, as far as weight...in that game, at the beginning of the match, if you tried to bodyslam a super heavyweight guy, you usually couldn't do it, but then if you wore him down enough, your guy could sometimes pull it off? Doesn't seem like it should be that hard to implement.

Hopefully this game can do what the LoW games always failed to do, and present a nice roster of legends, but with decent gameplay and realistic movesets. If I see guys like Ultimate Warrior doing stunners and crap, I'll puke. Also, the trailer shows a blue cage dropping around the ring, so I assume that will be in.

So, what's the deal with that video? Is it supposed to be a viral marketing campaign for a new video game or something?

Sounds interesting, but I don't see what good it would have done long term. Seems like it would have been another deal like the AWA/WCCW unification.

I thought the NFL basically wasn't letting any of their guys do wrestling anymore. See the Pacman fiasco in TNA.

Thought I'd start a topic, since I just bought one of these today. It's really sweet. If you haven't heard of it, it's a Logitech wireless networking device that allows you to stream audio from your PC to your stereo or any other audio device (basically). I have it streaming music to my home theater system from my PC in another room. I just got it this afternoon and I've already been able to stream my mp3 collection through itunes, and also access my Pandora and Live365 accounts. It's pretty awesome...sound quality is excellent, and the remote is really cool, displaying all the info you could want from any track you're playing. Nice resolution on the remote's screen, too. The one downside...the Squeezebox Duet is a big pricy...I paid about $400 for it at Best Buy, but so far, it was well worth it to be able to enjoy my music on my nice stereo speakers, instead of just headphones or computer desktop speakers. Also, it doesn't work with DRM protected itunes songs...but I don't know why people buy from itunes when they can get most of the same stuff DRM free through amazon and other sites.

The only people I know who actually own any Blu-Ray discs are PS3 owners. Maybe if the pricing on the PS3 drops a bit more, Blu-Ray could grow in popularity. I'm still in the large group of people that is happy with the picture on my upconverting DVD player. Also, there are so many good deals on DVD discs right now...picked up brand new copies of 300 and Beowulf the other day for about 10 bucks each at Target. Haven't had the chance to watch them yet, but I'm sure they'll look amazing, even on "just" 1080i.

I've thought Orton was severely underrated by a lot of people for a while now. I understand there was backlash because of how hard he was pushed, but the man is a complete package as far as being a main event level heel.
