MxPx had that song "Move to Bremerton" that was okay.

I like the Oreos Blizzard. Though there is actually an independent place near my house that has a knock off of the Blizzard that is for some reason way better than DQ's version. Also, everything at McDonald's sucks, including the McFlurry.

I saw it yesterday and it was a little better than I expected. Honestly, I thought from the previews that it was going to be pretty stupid. It was all right, nothing I'd go out of my way to see again though. I think my favorite part was when they went to their high school reunion.

Oh, and I bet their music is _really_ good too...

Well, that sounds nice, especially if you're a fan of a big market team...I suspect either way that if the economy continues to worsen, things will work themselves out, and salaries will stabilize a bit. I still stand by my post from earlier today, though.

Well, it would just be nice if more teams had a fair shot at signing big free agent players like the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs do. You are right that overall, baseball does have parity. There is no doubt about it. It's just frustrating, like I said earlier, that a team like the Yankees can throw around huge money at guys, and even if they do fail, the Yankees suffer no consequences whatsoever. And it's not like you can say the Brewers aren't trying to spend money...they offered Sabathia more than double the biggest contract they had ever given anyone (Ryan Braun at around 45 million), and it's still not enough. It's not even close. Let's keep things in perspective...just a couple years ago, paying a starting pitcher $20 million a year would have been considered lunacy. Now it's like "Oh, the market has been set. One team paid a guy 9 figures, now we shouldn't blink an eye at that. Let's pay them whatever the hell gets it done." That's the aggravating thing, that the all mighty Yankees can waltz in and make a ridiculous offer to a guy that the Milwaukee fans fell in love with over the last four months, and who publicly said he liked the team and hinted he wanted to stay (and yes, I know guys say a lot of things and kiss ass to everyone, and it's ultimately up to them to sign where they want). How many people are going to turn down an extra $30 or 40 million, though? As far as the NFL teams being able to sign guys and not being obligated to pay all of the contract, the players can point to their own union for that.

I think Caliendo is OK in small doses (the aforementioned Madden popcorn skit was hilarious). I just would never want to watch a whole show revolving around him.

They intend to make the World Series next year, come hell or high water. They could have a payroll approaching $250 million when all is said and done this off season. Yeah, and still no salary cap in baseball. That makes sense. It's not so much that they can spend that much money...it's that they can spend it without any consequence, even if some of their high price players end up being total busts for them.

Fail. Fail. There, now don't you feel better about yourself?

The US Economy and Current Financial Crisis
Dobbs 3K replied to Cheech Tremendous's topic in Current Events
Personally, I'm coming around to the idea of the government basically buying into these companies. That's how it should be looked at...a long term investment that should pay dividends long term. If not, then screw it. -
I really hate when Tenay talks during promos. What really got me was the end of the Sting/Lethal match, when they were just doing non-stop play-by-play after the Guns ran in. Going "Oh! Lethal doesn't want their help!" etc. It's like "Yeah, we're wrestling fans, we've seen this scenario a million times, you don't have to tell us what's going to happen." It's like they are doing commentary for an audience of six year olds that have never seen pro wrestling before.

Well, the review I read of the Wii version was actually quite positive, but I think I'd rather hold out and get the PS3 version for the extra online modes, etc.

Apparently a video exists of Cornette sticking a banana up his ass. Not sure of the validity, though. Well, there goes my lunch.

I know it was brought up before, but what is now going to be the justification for Ryan still being employed now that Pam is back? Is he still going to be working through the temp agency as a salesman or something? They must be bringing Holly back soon, right?

The point is that the picture was already funny, and no, the "FAIL" thing doesn't even really fit with the orginal intent of the meme. It seems to be some people think you can take any picture, paste "FAIL" on it, and it's instantly funnier. No, it just makes you look stupid.

I know it was touched on earlier, but is there any realistic chance that the weak economy will keep contracts down a bit this past off-season? I heard on the radio yesterday that the Yankees haven't even sold out all their luxury boxes yet for their brand new stadium. Or since baseball is still doing relatively well, will contracts just keep going up?

Apparently Sen. Hillary Clinton is a strong candidate for Secretary of State. While I've made no secret that I'm not a big Hillary fan, I think you could make worse choices. She has the connections and experience to be effective in that role, certainly.

After reading reviews, I think I'll skip the Wii version and maybe pick this up when I hopefully get a PS3 before the end of the year. I guess I could get it for the PC, though.

I know it's been said a billion times now, but someone needs to make Tenay and West shut the hell up for just five seconds or so, every once in a while.
-
I do think they should do that, due to the stadium tax. Like I said, I liked the old unis that said Milwaukee on the front. However, I'm not from the greater Milwaukee area (I live west from there), so my opinion doesn't matter too much in regards to the five county tax.
-
The Brewers have been resistant to put "Milwaukee" on their road uniforms because they want to be thought of as Wisconsin's team, not just Milwaukee's. I personally liked their gray road jerseys from the late '80s/early '90s that had "Milwaukee" on the front. The Yankees came out and announced that they plan to "blow away" CC Sabathia with an offer, probably tomorrow. Way to come out and be total dicks about the fact that you can buy any player you want, Steinbrenners.

"How did George W. Bush win twice?" "I don't know." Yes, Karl Rove is a complete and total genius and single handedly overcame the vast left wing liberal media conspiracy agenda o' doom. Twice.

Even Sarah Palin isn't stupid enough to do a low rent wrestling show like TNA Impact.

I don't see how Christian really fits on RAW at this point. Cena is coming back soon, Orton just came back, they have Jericho as the top heel...I think Christian would work better on Smackdown right now.

Heard the flame thrower is really well done.
